Posts: 448I got flagged for something similar. My SG GF gave me a mango to take home, and I didn't think anything of it, but the Bottox girls running the X-ray machine caught it. Now I have one warning on my record.

Posts: 7095Border Guards Strictness coming back into US
Some CBP guys are dicks. No fruits or pork, cooked or uncooked, are allowed back in the US. Fresh seafood and beef are OK. Yep. Have to be careful what you bring back. Nothing works best.
CBP supposedly allows 3 violations before yanking your Global Entry or Sentri card. You can appeal through the CBP web site and potentially get it back.

Posts: 167Border Guards Strictness coming back into US
I am sending this out as a warning to everyone. I travel in the states a lot and had put an orange in my backpack to eat while traveling. It was still in my bag when I came back across the border into the US. It was picked up on the xray and the nasty kid guard took it and said it would be recorded as a strike against me. He said only 3 strikes are allowed. I don't know what happens after. He was very arrogant and pissed me off. I travel a lot of countries and that is the only problem I have ever had.

Posts: 709For a while they were stamping them, but it's been a couple weeks since they have stamped mine. I usually cross at night though. Not sure about daytime.

Posts: 167Get a passport card and use it. Otherwise they will stamp your passport.

Hello, want to know if the passports are still getting stamped while walking to Mexico. Also, have there been any strictness while coming back to US?

Posts: 508If you go back in these forums you will see complaints about same topics for years.
2025 was a top year for me. I get more picky at same time I am getting very good at finding the locas I like.
Went a couple months ago. I got what I have always looked for.
Yea some girls asking for big amounts. They have asked me for as much as $180 since before COVID. Old news. The ones I liked asked $100 and $120.
Prices raise some but I do not go 2-4 times a month. I go 5-6 times a year. Instead of spending $160 2-4 times a month I save it up for 2 months.

Best to read both boards, but TomJackin is very familiar with both locations so I'd definitely begin reading his posts on CR.

Posts: 124My experience with Costa Rica is limited to one trip I took about 13 years ago. I stayed in the gringo gulch and the scene there from what I could tell was mostly Private Houses, Massage Parlours, a few bars and at the Del Ray; freelancers at the bar.
I enjoyed my time there but it didn't wow me enough to want to return. The next year I went to Thailand and have been going back 2 or 3 times a year for a month or more at a time. As far as who has the better scene I'm partial to Tijuana due to pracitcality and location but that doesn't mean a good time can't be had in CR.

Posts: 6Reflections From A Hong Kong Visit In 2022
What can one say about Hong Kong that has not already been said before? It's an institution & many US citizens' first taste of a brothel of this sort. I had been mongering in full service massage parlors in LA for quite some time prior to my visit to Tijuana. Once getting to HK, you're immediately blown away with all the girls in every corner of the club hoping you pick them. HK is not the cheapest place, especially compared to what you can find in Panama City or Quito. But it's a place to seek out to anyone who is on the west coast & a gem of a starter location.

Posts: 7095How does it compare to CR?
Perhaps you should try both and advise us of the fine differences.
Tijuana is closer to the US. Start with it first.

I don't know Costa Rica at all, but in Tijuana, the big scene is Coahuila street, in the Zona Norte. Hong Kong is the dominant club, although personally, I prefer Chicago and Tropicall.
