As I continue, my journey through Brazil, here are just a few observations and notes from my six day stay in Salvador.

I arrived and it was rainy for the first two days. Just miserable. Nobody was out. Nothing to do. The city just shuts down.

I stayed in Barra. And while it's pretty when the sun is out, and there are food options, it does make maneuvering around the city a little more difficult. There is a lot of traffic and the roads getting into the main part of the city are usually full.

Rio Vermelho is an area that I spent some time in and I really enjoyed that area. Seems like there's a lot more local eye candy that way.

The dating apps were basically dead and the beach scene was really only exciting on the weekend.

I cruised the malls hoping to find some local girls, but I didn't see much to choose from. Overall. Wasn't impressed with Salvador.

And yes, the central area is very sketchy. I can handle homeless people. But drugged out people talking to themselves and acting insane is not an area you want to be around.

Last month, I spent a week in Salvador, as a side trip from Rio. I was mainly there to do tourist stuff: walk around Pelourinho, make a few boat trips, etc. I was staying in Pituba, a quiet, middle class neighborhood on the Atlantic side of the peninsula. First time in Salvador, checked out Platnum VIP for the first night (Wednesday). I am measuring to the standards of top clubs like Scandallo, Fazendinha Gauguin, and Cafe foto etc. I almost always do pernoite taking to my hotel / airbnb in campinas and sao paulo I usualy pay anyehere betweeen 1500 to 2500 for the pernoite wich usually includes BBBJ.
