I don't know Amari Living Suites but Ciudad Jardin is a middle class area, no problem walking. You'll be using Uber, or better inDrive, to get around, especially with the humid heat at this time of year.

Has anyone stayed at Amari Living Suites in Ciudad Jardin / Las Mercedes? It looks like an apartment style hotel in that area. I know places like these have visitor restrictions after certain hours similar to Airbnb, but I'm also curious about the neighborhood itself. Is the area considered relatively safe to walk, and is it conveniently located for getting to Centro, casas, bars, and clubs?

If anyone know bars / areas where to meet non pros?

Hey Mate, yes, I started with your report and worked my way down the list. I noticed the more recent reports tend to be the most accurate. I'm all about variety, numbers, and the easy next door type vibe, it looks like Barranquilla offers both during the day and at night.

As to which are the best, it always depends on where you find someone to your liking, and that can change quickly.

But I would say, start at Kraby Spa and Perfect Time. They have good rooms and management. Bloom has gone down a lot.

It really just depends on what you are looking for. I personally love Barranquilla the women are beautiful there. The people are extremely friendly and kind. Most parts of the city are safe. There's some nice cheap casas and strip clubs also a few expensive spots. The beginning of the week is slow. Things don't really pick up and clubs don't stay open late until the weekend. If you're looking for a parque Lleras area or clocktower red-light zone there is none. Those places are really only in those 2 cities as far as Colombia goes and they really only exist for gringos. Barranquilla is a city with very few gringos therefore it doesn't have gringo hookers. If you speak some Spanish you may be able to pull a civilian. Also for anyone who likes to drink coconut water go to parque electrificadora. They sell ice cold coconuts there for cheap.

Thanks mate for your reassuring note. Sounds like it's my kind of place, relaxing, social, beautiful women. Like Tom Jackin would say I'm going there for seeking putas and eating great food, not sightseeing.

I'm planning a trip to Barranquilla in about a month, how is it down there these days? I've visited Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena, know there aren't as many reports on Barranquilla compared to these cities, neither refined, nor tourist heavy, but from what little I've read, it seems more off the beaten path and rewarding for those willing to explore. Just a recent experience from a traveler would be welcome. I'm willing to follow to be a bit more intentional where I go and how I move around and post what I find after my trip.

I spent 4 days in Barranquilla this week. I found a lot of bars with the help of local taxi cabs. I speak fluent spanish. The below are the most popular ones. I'll add the addresses once I get more time.

? El Hojito. Has a strip dance table and quite large. One can take a girl upstairs to culear for 70-80 mil pesos for 30 min.

Siglo venti uno. You can find it in Google.

? El Rancherito. Just opposite to El Hojito. No strip dance, but girls are there to as a 'dama del compania' while you drink, and you can take them to your place.

? El Gran Buda. You can find it in Google.

? Cama Suelta. Similar to El Hojito..
