But, honestly speaking, that area has a different function, social, eating, drinking, partying for the local men and women. It's a very traditional activity for the locals to enjoy the night away. And, for myself, I am not culturally savvy enough to partake in its activities according to tradition. So, I moved on. Because the area greatly degenerated. Ten years ago, I had some great times there in the tearooms with three women devoted to my pleasure. They were great times with younger prettier women in abundance.
It being my last night in Taiwan, I wanted to take in the full flavor of the carnival environment of that neighborhood fully. What are you looking for? 12 am (midnight) is a bit late, most are already away. If possible, try in the aftternoon in that area. Diamond building is there as well, you can google for 鑽30707;22823;27155; which is the chinese name for it.
Keelung shacks you need to get a train, from Taipei main towards Keelung. It is about 30 minutes or so train ride.

I booked a flight back from Bangkok with a very long (23 hour) layover in Taipei, with the aim of giving my trip to SE Asia a happy Taiwanese ending.

Good value for the money, but the rooms are a little cramped and it is difficult to cross the street in that area. There's a building off Kanding Rd, Lane 250 in Wanhua district, Taipei that is mostly organized by local mafia with girls in every room.
If you orient yourself towards the north on Kangding Street just up from Guangzhou Street, with Laosong Elementary School on your right (east), this small lane (Lane 250) goes off to the left (west) and then does a 90-degree turn south back towards Guangzhou Street. The building you are walking around when you do this 90-degree turn is the one I'm talking about. It has a hallway on street level with elevators going up. The hallway has two entrances—one on Kangding and one on Lane 250 after the turn. The hallway is kind of like a shortcut through the building from the bigger street to the lane behind the building.

Just from experience, many of the stores operated by VN staff will offer some kind of extras. Most will charge you 1,200 to 1,400 for the massage and the provider will at some point let you know what else is on the table. They are never shy about it.
Best advice I can give you is to ask at the reception if you can see pictures of the girls. Also check the store itself. If it looks like a legit spa with a menu, then it probably is. If it looks rundown and like a poor excuse for a brothel like 193 Jilin, the again, it probably is.

Open layout, or partitions where room openings have no door (curtains / fabric drapes) - G3 class (includes blind-masseur businesses).
Without doors, over 150 m² floor area still lands in B1.
So B1 means fire safety planning, more inspections, etc.
Best avoided if you're in the special business.
It doesn't mean curtains is a sure thing, normally it's easy to tell from the outside what the place offers.

Taiwan providers almost exclusively does hotel calls. I actually don't like it because I live here and don't want to book a hotel and don't like providers coming to my home.
Makes me miss the amount of incall rooms in Hong Kong.What about booking a short time love motel? Would the girls accept that? Or if they pick a love motel?

The masseuse came in with a bucket of warm towels which got used through the massage. She spoke good English but was completely no nonsense in her attitude. You can work around that by getting a local Japanese phone number.
