I spent a few hours looking at a few hotels and reviews and basically I'm deciding between these hotels:
Directly at Classic Hotel (Superior Room, Deluxe or Suite, can't seem to tell the difference) - any issues bringing girls from other venues here too / non-working girls from dating apps? Good for nonsmokers?
Hotel Luminor Kota (near Lokasari, but little info).
Red Star Hotel (near Travel, cheap, but maybe too dirty?
Yuan Garden Hotel (girlfriendly or tight security?
Any more info on these hotels would be appreciated.Please note there are 2 Luminor hotels. The one best for you may be Luminor Peconongan (near Classic). The other Luminor is closer to Lokasari but further away from Classic I think.

There is nothing wrong with this Hotel. It is simply a no-frills Hotel.
Luminor Pecenongan is a newer Hotel and better in my opinion.

It must be pretty run-down by now. It had a major flaw: only two elevators, where at least four would've been needed.

I have booked my second trip to Jakarta next month. Last time I stayed at the 'Luminor Hotel Pecenongan by WH' (a 10-15 minute walk to Classic), paid a little less than $50 per night. A perfect hotel, but this time I'm looking for a budget-friendly option.
After RTFF, Pasar Baru would be the best place, as it is centrally located near all famous establishments and offers a wide range of street food options.
Are there any girl-friendly hotels for around $35 per night? I would appreciate it if anyone would recommend a few hotels.
Cheers, TF.Heef Hotel is one good choice, it's closer and on the same side as the Classic, just 4 minutes walk. Grand G7 isn't bad either, but it's farther away and requires crossing a busy road to reach the Classic. At times you might be lucky to get Yuan Garden at $35 but I heard rooms are smaller and a long wait for elevators.

Been doing my research and I have been struggling to find hotels with large hotubs in Jakarta. I'm 6'2 so one that could fit me and a girl would be pretty clutch. All the hotels I've been seeing just have that basic rectangular tub in the bathroom instead of something more round / big like what's more common in Bali. If anyone knows of any in the Jakarta area that's not like 600 $ a night, that'd be appreciated.

Please note there are 2 Luminor hotels. The one best for you may be Luminor Peconongan (near Classic). The other Luminor is closer to Lokasari but further away from Classic I think.The Luminor close to Lokasari is clode to TravelHot and perfect if you look for the SW's there.
In addition, you can use with your girl the entrance through the Garage. Elevator with your room card direct to your floor. And the guards downstairs are cool: they will congrat you if the chick is hot.
Has anyone stayed at Best Western Mangga Dua? I booked an Executive King room, over 475 sq ft for $40 a night for five nights. I chose this hotel mainly because it's close to Kota Indah bars and Mangga Dua Mall, where I'll be spending most of my time.

Had a swimming pool but not very nice nor was the outdoor area around it. I would say not the best hotel for bringing a girl back due to the long walk to the lifts past at least half a dozen staff and a long wait a the limited lifts, no mater how late at night. Also being the only white person there at the time, every member of staff seemed to know me by sight and all my comings and goings, friendly but very inquisitive. I would stay again for mongering out. Also used the buses across the pedestrian bridge to get to the big mall down past the big monument park for a bit of daytime activity and food.
Any hotel recommendations I like holiday inn Gaja Mada in Jakarta but looking to.

Was looking to see to bring in the girls for LT overnight.

The only way around this is to negotiate directly with the girl but even then, I have heard the girls have to pay their mami a kickback.

Are both girl-friendly?Holiday Inn in Gajah is way more central to a lot of things, indomarets and stuff in walkable distance even if you're up for that. The one at the expo has a Starbucks on the ground floor so that's nice but aside from that you'll need transport to get to any kind of store. Asides from that you can't go wrong with either in my opinion.

1.If it is clean (without cockroaches).
2.If aircon works.

There are plenty of hotels in that area at that price point, but personally I don't recommend anything less than $30 in Jakarta. The lower-tier places often have strong cigarette odors, musty rooms, torn wallpaper, stained pillowcases and sheets, noisy ac, clogged drain, low water pressure, no hot water, mosquitoes, etc. They are mainly budget hotels geared toward local travelers and may not be ideal for foreign visitors.

Dear fellow brothers, I will be arriving in Jakarta in early Jan. I am torn between Vertu Harmoni and Red top. I want to be close to action area. Classic+emprorium as well as get a girl to my room.
I want to also shop a lot, hence being close to mall is beneficial. What would you recommend as more girl friendly and more spacious. I am getting both in the same range 50 euros a night for a basic room with queen bed + breakfast.
Looking forward for kind recommendations from experienced friends.

I'm surprised you guys are recommending hotels that are very far away from Classic and Emporium, places that are way up north or far east. Vertu Hotel Harmoni is one of the few respectable-looking ones close by. It's just unclear whether it's girl-friendly. From Google street view I see the entrance is blocked and there's a guard gatekeeping outside. Not good.
I don't know about vertu harmony but I have stayed at red top. Its bang opposite emporium and a 5 min walk to classic. There are no malls nearby, they are all in central or south area which is easily 15-20 minutes by grab. Red top is decent, its an old hotel not modern, rooms are big in size but remember its an old property and not luxurious. I stayed at grand mercure Jakarta harmony, which is a further away and near malio. Very decent property better than red top IMHO.

I'll be mongering in Jakarta for the first time in October. Staying 3 days, 4 nights.
What do you think of my idea of spending the first 2 nights in Best Western Mangga Dua Hotel in the north (I have Best Western points I want to get rid of) and 2 nights in Vertu Hotel Harmoni, close to Classic, Emporium, and Malioboro?
Are these hotels guest / girl friendly? I noticed from Google street view that they have gates and guards in the front. That doesn't look inviting when I try to walk in with some arm candy.
Also, what are the main attractions in the north for a monger? (close to Best Western Mangga Dua hotel).
Any prominent brothels, spas, sex hotels, or red light districts in the north that I should be aware of?
I am booked into the St Regis for a work trip late January. Does anyone have intel on the freelancer scene at St Regis Jakarta, if any? If there is no scene there, does anyone have any recommendations for hotels with high end freelancer scene, excepting Mulia and BATS? Thanks.

My general rule when I visit a city is do what the city is best at. Don't paint the city with the wrong brush. Like in USA Seeking Arrangement is only game in town. But why do that in Frankfurt when you have FKK? Why do freelancers in Jakarta where you have the best bang for the buck club in the entire world in Classic (no lie!

It's very difficult to find better selection, services, prices, convenience of Classic.
The only things in the negative balance is the long flight from US, and Jakarta being a big, run down slum with not much good food or fun entertainment. Wonder if the government protests have slowed down.
OTOH I could take flights with a 32-hour stop over in Singapore to sample Geylang hoe houses for hot girls from all over Asia with enough time to visit food hawkers for good food.

However if it saves money you can travel those 2 night to Classic to have fun even if Best Western by chance is not friendly.

I ended up following through with my idea and and booked a split stay. There are apparently some good spots worthy of a 2-night stay within walking distance of Best Western.

I stayed at the Best Western Mangga Dua Hotel for five nights in September of last year. This isn't a hotel in the traditional sense, it occupies six subleased floors in an old high-rise apartment building.
On the positive side, it's close to the Kota Indah bars and Mangga Dua Mall, a 10 minute walk. The room was spacious with a nice city view, the staff were friendly, the breakfast buffet was decent, in-house massage that will also come to your room with extra options available, pool, and gym amenities. I brought girls a few times without any issues like every hotel I stayed in Jakarta.
Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. The elevators are shared with apartment residents, leading to long waits. The furniture is old and poorly maintained, the lighting is dim, broken cabinet, shower door, curtains and safe, dusty couch and table. Overall, the property feels tired and in need of serious upkeep. But you can't beat the $35 rate per night for a 475 sq ft executive king room with breakfast.
Breakfast spread at Movenpick is the nicest I have seen, must say Indulging and highly recommended.

And hence I cannot stay in Pasar Baru / Manga Besar / Manga Dua area.
Do you have any suggestions of hotels (35-40 USD) near "our dear locations" but not in those locations haha.

Has anyone faced such a dilema before LOL.I stayed at Hariston Hotel Suites near Kota Tua, you can also get a hotel in Kemayoran, Glodok aka Chinatown, they are closer to these locations.

Prices are similar: Mercure 200 euro, Vertu 230 euro, Yuan Garden 240 euro, all are cancellable and with breakfast included.
Seems all 3 have outdoor swimming pool and gym, which one have the best facilities for some workout and pool relax in the morning?
Location: seems all 3 are fine, Mercure is more in the middle of north Jakarta so only few kms to Kota Indah and Classic. Vertu and Yuan Garden are both very near to classic.
Yuan Garden look like the one in the "quieter" area.
Which one you think is better? Breakfast, gym, pool, good bed, area? From the report here Vertu should be the best or at least the newest.

I staid in Yuan Garden some years ago, and I never feel well.
Room was perfect, swimming pool too.
But the worker were asking too much. And it never look girls friendly (I am not sure about). It look conservative hotel.
Then the building is very high, but the elevator are 3 or 4. So you will spend a lot of time waiting elevator.
I have booked these 3 hotels for a 5 nights stay. First time in town.

Plus: Spacious rooms, silent Airconditioning, great breakfast, only the breakfast in Mvenpick is better.
Minus: mediocre gym, traffic is a huge problem because of the current construction.

I've stayed in more than ten different hotels, all four to five stars, in Jakarta without any issues. I've even brought three girls in a single day and, at times, two at once. From what I've notice, security tends to acknowledge you with more respect when you walk in with a girl rather than alone. It's not like places like Thailand or Vietnam where overzealous security try to impose guest fees or block the girl. This should be least of your worries in Jakarta.

I am unsure if booking Merlin park, Vertu Harmony, or split my holiday. Is both 5 stars?
Price for July is similar (40 euro / night merlin Park, 35 euro Vertu).
Merlin park look to have a better swimming pool. But Vertu have better rewiews.
Merlin is a little faraway from classic, not so much but road in Jakarta is terrible. Did you go by car?
Near Merlin Park is there something to do?
Do somebody know if there are night sound from Mosque around both?
lLast time I went in gran G7 Pasar Baru and I got up EVERY night around 4 am wiht Mosque sound. Also for this I am looking another hotel in the area.

I've stayed at Merlynn Park, it's very nice, rooms are spacious, good soundproof, better value for a five-star hotel, Uber is about 20 minutes to Classic and KI bars.When did you stay there? That's the downside of many five star hotels in Jakarta, Merlynn, Millennium Sirah, Mandarin, Shangri La, feel trapped inside, nightmare to get out of the hotel to the main road. When I don't have plans to meet clients, I usually stay at low profile good hotels Orchardz, Luminor, where you can just walk out, get on a bike, car without any hassle.

As you, I do like a bathtub, which this hotel has. It also had a good sized work desk in the room for those who need that, and relative to virtually any other hotel, an excellent gym.
The main negativity IMO is the breakfast (decent if you are only staying for a day or two, but after that, the repetitiveness of food was difficult for me to enjoy), and the extremely slow to show up in-room security, if you will ever need that (20-30 minutes I think I waited). The later is the main reason while I've switched my latest stay to the holiday inn, lack of bathtub withstanding, though I don't know if security there is any better.
Maybe I should look into Vertu Harmoni for my next stay instead, if it also has a bathtub and decent sized rooms. Being able to walk to Classic is a great plus for me, rather than the 15-20 minutes it takes to book and get out from a grab/gojek taxi outside Classic.

Thanks. I was thinking also about Merlin park because is a 5 star and I never sleep in a 5 star hotel in my life. But if they are similar, I just stay in Vertu.
I eat walking in Jakarta, but 1 Km I can walk and I prefer than wait for a taxy every time. I always get hotel near Classic, lasta time Grand G7 Pasar baru (I staid in Jakarta 2 times).
Just if difference is big I can also try Merlin park 5 star for some nights: I would stay in Jakarta around 15 days, just for girls, specially Classic ones.
I already booked 4+5 days in Vertu for July (cancellable reservation if I find better, but with early booking discount it is 35 euro for night!
When I decide when move to Singapore and Malesia I can book the other nights. I split the reservation if I decide later to try other place.
Do you know if in Vertu you never ear Mosque sound?
What is Malio? A place with girls like Classic? Is it good ones?

No bathtub in my room and the room wasn't massive but perfectly adequate and minimal storage but again manageable.
Completely girl friendly! I was bringing back 2 or sometimes 3 girls a day with not an eyelid batted. I booked without breakfast included and just paid separately when I wanted it. Decent Indonesian restaurant in the downstairs "mall" and an ATM. Walking distance to Classic.

The hotel is asking for ID registration for all non staying guests. If you bring a girl, before entering the elevator security will approach you. This rule is effective since last two weeks apparently due to some incident of theft in one of the rooms by an alleged working girl who came in with a guest.
Moevenpick was ideal with Emporium right next door and Classic not far. What with Emporium out of the picture and Classic having lost some of its shine, I may no longer be wanting to pay the premium Moevenpick rate on a future stay in Jakarta.
The Moevenpick AC was not what it should be. I like 25C during the night, but it remained stubbornly stuck at 23 or 22.9. In the morning the incoming sun quickly raised the temperature to 24+. When I then set it to 22 with a view to do some in-room work-out, it staid over 24 or took two hours to settle down to 22.
There were signs of understaffing and small mishaps. After check-in the key they'd given me didn't open my door so I had to go down to front-desk. They had to give me another room.
Room cleaning was not 100% efficient. Some fruit juice stains on my bedside table were left unwiped.
After I told them not to bother about changing the bed, they left a used towel on the bed. Not having to change the bed is not the same as not touching the bed.
Breakfast was only nice when I went down before 8. After 8 it was incomfortably overcrowded.
None of these details were a deal-breaker but this was supposed to be a 5-star experience.

Novotel is in an older building attached to the Mangga Dua Mall, I had to change rooms thrice before I got one with working A / see and no moldy smell. After that though, the stay was smooth, they do have a huge clean pool which is a plus. It rained pretty constantly while I was there, no flooding as such, but could be vulnerable to flash floods.
Another minus point was ordering taxis and food. Took a long time for everything as they charge for entering into the parking / lobby area which a lot of the drivers weren't willing to do.
Mercure Batavia was the better of the two in my opinion. Much more polished, better gym. Smaller pool, though.

Instead of staying at Classic hotel like I did for my first trip, I'm opting to stay at another one not far from it called Heef Hotel. Looks decent enough. If there's any feedback on it, please share. The hotel sites had decent reviews.

It's a neat, clean, slightly older, but good location, only four minutes' walk to Classic. The rooms are bit small, but upgrading to executive room definitely makes the stay more comfortable. The breakfast is just minimal, but it's next to J Co coffee and bakery, Pasar Baru mall eateries, and a few good restaurants.

The meals for the rest of the day will give me enough variety. Even though I enjoyed my stay at Classic hotel on my last trip and it was super convenient, I think I did get bed bugs there.

P4P girl from Michat? Always ID-ed. Normal non-p4p girl: nothing asked. Maybe even a cursory nod of approval for being one of the rare cases where they see me walking in with someone that does not look like I dragged her out of the nearest bush.
Thinking back I think they might have asked me for my own room number on some of the non-p4p dates. Not sure why. Never asked the non-p4p girls anything though, which is more important.

After RTFF, I am more confused now. Saw someone mention executive in Heef is not as small as rest of rooms. Preference for me is staying near Classic or in walking distance. Also Heef is on the same side, so no busy road crossings for me! Any inputs are much appreciated!
Also I am happy to spend $50-60 if that means I get a much better option in walking distance.

I am planning a 2-night stay in late October, and it seems that Kristal Hotel in South Jakarta has good rates and the quality / price ratio looks good. However, reviews explicitly say that it is very "children friendly" and there are a lot of facilities for kids. So I am starting to wonder whether the hotel is also "girl friendly". If anyone knows, a confirmation of the hotel current status would be appreciated. Thanks!
I stayed at Ascott apartments Kuningan, very nice. Room was on 31 floor big and luxurious. All my girls were happy, they have a very nice pool and a nice coffee shop. The hotel is next to lotte mall and can be accessed via the elevator. The mall is above average though but good for small shopping and there is a marche for small errands and alcohol. The hotel doesn't sell alcohol as they don't have the license. This place is a little further away from the centre. Took me 35 minutes to reach classic on grab bike. 7-10 minutes to plaza mall and jaya pub. I paid about $120 approx all in or 130. But next time ill go back to thamrin or menteng which is in the centre and a better location.

Cheers.I stayed at Heef Hotel for four night a few weeks ago. In general I liked this place. Their breakfast was great and yup, walking to Classic was super easy. Lots of cheap eateries around the side streets too as long as you are adventurous since there will be no other tourists as their customers. Only thing I didn't like about Heef is that despite indoor hallway doors, mosquitoes still got into my room and I figure it might have been the cracks in the window edge.

Repeat the sprays each day and no problem. One can costs just a few dollars and lasts easily for a week. Recommend the orange scent. Enjoy, AR.

The hotel part of Classic hotel is fantastic. Really cheap, spacious, no mosquitos, good AC. I took a girl there the other day and she loved it. I didn't even go to the spa parts of the hotel. I don't think most girls are aware of the dark underside of classic unless they work in the business.
