No one here kills for a phone. Don't bring the latest model, bring something older ans cheaper. You can rent an airbnb or you can stay in a hotel. Close to Santa Fe is better, because there are 10 times more girls in one place. You won't have to waste time running around the city because don't think that beautiful girls are waiting for you at the casas. As for currency, you can exchange 100 dollars at the airport for a taxi and small expenses. My opinion is the most good way is to send yourself money to Colombia through Western Union. $$ ATM is best as you can get 2 million pesos for $3-$5 - changing money is 3-5%.

There are a lot of great AirBNB walking distance to Santa Fe-- Muchas Hombres stay near Santa Fe-- I personally think it is safer as in the North is where you have pro who prey on gringos -- I have lived nnear SF for 12+ yrs.

There's a currency conversion right where you pick your bags up on the carousel. Likewise with SIM cards also at the airport. However as woodman pointed out you can save some money doing ATMs and also doing the SIM card in the city. There are a few cell phone shops on Carrera 7 between Calle 23 and 20. You'll need to know some Spanish though as many of the shops don't speak English but the airport location will be good if you have limited Spanish.

3. I can't talk for airbnb but I will say that if a hotel is more your style you can't go wrong with Hotel Ibis Bogota Museo. It's inexpensive for the most part, rooms are fine, it's girl friendly and it's an easy walk to Santa Fe or easy access for the transmillenio or taxi / didi / uber for getting around to the clubs, etc. Coming from Thailand, Malaysia, etc you may find Santa Fe to be "gritty" and some people are okay with that and others are freaked out by it. For the general part it's safe as long as you don't act like an idiot and / or cause trouble. So that's something to keep in mind if you do stay in Santa Fe. For me personally I am okay with it. There are others who find it a turn off.

I went last week to santafe, Wednesday 5:00 pm And I actually agree with his comments. I haven't been there in a long while and the place has really had a turn for the worse. As you know "la piscina" and "el castillo" are closed. Those used to be the best places around with 30+ girls to choose, there was someone for everyone's liking. Not anymore. I've been to Medellin 10+ times in the last two years and cartagena once (which was enough for me LOL). Me and some friends are planning a trip to one of these three cities and it's currently up for debate. Here's what we prioritize:

1. P4 P scene (Obviously) - How good is the p4 p scene on the streets and amount of good looking women available (ie poblado: blending in with nightlife, relatively safe mongering scene).

2. Upscale restaurant availability - (ie Carmen, other poblado joints, and envigado).

3. Cost. Average cost of drinks, women, food. On average, how do the three compare?

Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays and even Wednesdays are generally slower. Generally the clubs are dead before 7 pm or so. Even 7 pm might be too early for the smaller clubs. Atunes has never been the same since the pandemic. Used to be a reliable daytime spot, now I'd be surprised if it were around in a couple years. 70 k is high for a street girl. I usually do long all in one trip reports but they end up being too wordy and long so here's a daily one. I've been to Bogota now 4-5 times. I'm losing count a bit. For Latin America it seems to be a sweet spot for me between being inexpensive, easy to get to (for me) with cheap flights and a good influx of girls in a relatively small confined spot of Santa Fe. Just wanted to pitch in on the recent posts complaining about pricings in SF clubs. I think once you've been around all of the Caribbean incl DR and Cuba, and now in South America incl Col, CR, Ecuador, Brazil, you'll realize Colombia has pretty much no competition. So do some researches and stop complaining. Brazil is great vs Col but it's further and costs more to travel there, hence Colombia wins.

It seems Col Migration loves me here LOL. Spent Jan and Feb here, then 3 months in Bra, and back to Col since end of June and visa already extended to end of December which will total 8 months this year in Colombia. With this much time, almost yearly recently, I think I can speak on pricings.
