Frugal doesn't mean cheap
I agree with MaddTraveler on nearly all points. I think the point you are getting at is frugal doesn't mean cheap -- another way of "stay in your lane" perhaps. It's a very different experience in SF vs a GF or GFE including dinner, drinks and TLN elsewhere. You can use the car analogy sure, but I think the restaurant analogy is better. There are all kinds of ways to eat in Colombia, from things you can buy on the street to world class dining. While it is true you can get an experience that is a very good or very poor value, overall it is a very lot less expensive than US or Europe if you are trying to compare like for like. It is equally true WG and restaurants.
Some people only want to eat at some only want local street food, McDonalds (which exists in Locombia), some want only Michelin level. And some are like me that want and can afford a variety.
I do highly encourage all visitors to try the restaurant scene in BOG and, if you are into the hobby, as a second date I encourage extending a TLN to include dinner and drinks before. If pro or semipro, negotiate the TLN rate first and then propose starting earlier but including dinner and a drink.
I do have a little quibble with this:
wanted to go out, works in Centro but only wanted to go to zona g. We all know it's the most expensive area of Bogota. So if your visiting SF, you can bring 200 k or less in your pocket and it will be enough; but going on dates in those areas I carry at least 600 k in cash plus my CC. Dinner in one spot, some wine in another spot and I'm already at 300 k.
Zona G is NOT the most expensive area of the city.
Yes, Zona G does have a few of the most expensive restaurants in the city: LEO, El Chato, Cielo. But there many others in Zona G not at that level of cost and quality. For me the most expensive area of the city for a date of any type is Zona T (around CC Andino and CC Atlantis). In Zona T there are some good restaurants for sure, but there are also a few which for me aren't high value for money -- specifically Andres Carne de Res and anything inside Andino). In addition to the restaurants, there is also the shopping. Taking a date or WG there is a big mistake as you are going to waste time, money or both. Also, for non pro you need to know what they will appreciate and be comfortable with. I've seen some WGs become really intimidated by fancy restaurants, come dressed inappropriately, or intentionally order the most expensive thing on the menu just because they could. I generally don't go to a good restaurant until 2nd meeting.
Nonpro tip: use a trip to Zona T or any big CC as a litmus test early in a relationship. Go to a Crepes or Wok in any big CC and see how much time they burn in stores just looking, or how many things they want you to buy for them. That will often foreshadow things to come. Atlantis, Unicentro, Grand Estacion, Plaza Central are all better for that test than Andino.
Now I am hungry.
Dining out and "I don't know"
I have been dating an actual judge for a couple of years. Friday night I asked her where she wanted to go and she did not know. We ended up going to a dive spot in Teusaquillo eating fried chicken for 30,000 pesos.
LOL. I have repeated that same experience countless times. And I think I have some insight that applies to many Colombianas but not all.
Sometimes the "I don't know" comes from the latin gender roles. It's the man's role to pick the place because he will be paying and it would be impolite otherwise. But after a couple years you get comfortable with each other, she will become comfortable to express her thoughts. But still the "I don't know" reappears LOL.
For other Colombians, depending on their background, they may go out to eat rarely outside their neighborhood and / or only dine out with family. It doesn't actually correlate with socioeconomic status.
While there are exceptions, anyone dating a nonpro Rolla more than 2 weeks knows about family dinners. If you want a long term relationship, it is to be expected and is obligatory. Pretty much an insult if you say no and would be the end of the relationship for many. You can predict that early on with a few questions during idle getting to know you phase: ask what she does for vacations. LOL. Probably family vacations, ask what family members go together and where they go. It could be just immediate family, but really often it includes 3 generations, and "primos". You can also ask to tell her about what she did for her last birthday. Or her mother's or sister's last birthday.
RE: Bogota for begininers
Going to Bogota for a mongering vacation with a cousin, late November.
I am a South East Asia veteran, but a Colombia newbie, so I appreciate help from the experts here.
You will do well to read thru this board as well as the maps in "Bogota Lists". It will give you answers to all your questions and more.
So that I don't waste hours re: here are a few answers.
Are most hotels girl friendly?
Historically yes, but post-pandemic, more and more either charge extra or prohibit unregistered guests.
Is there and advantage in going with AirBNB instead. Isn't less safe to be in AirBNB?
The majority of AirBnb in BOG have reception and are as secure if not more secure than many hotels.
MANY AirBnb don't allow unregistered guests. Period. It should say that in the airbnb listing.
What are Love Motels? Can you stay there or just to meet girls?
For Colombian couples who often live with their parents. But they also serves well for meeting novias of all types. Or for foreigners who have issues with either of the above. They charge by the hour and with big discounts for multi hour stays, but they are not a substitute for a real hotel unless you are in town 1 night and leave your bags at the airport. Some seedy, but most are not. They are cleaned thoroughly between guests (but check google review specifically for this). You can often get a room with a jacuzzi for a little more. HIGHLY recommended but make sure your chica is up for it.
Now down to business. Where to find the girls?
Read the forum, specifically check the guides.
Agencies:
eroticasbogota.com - I never have used because their cost is way too high. I have heard mixed results.
Lacelestina. Co. Largest high end agency in the city. By far. On most days there are over 100 in the lineup. MANY of the girls don't have pix on their site and many on the site, even those saying available are NOT necessarily available that day. If you really want a specific chica, you can usually reserve a few days in advance. For same day, tell them your requirements by telegram or whatsapp and they will give you a good match and perhaps supply a few pix. Lacele is highly reliable apart from major traffic. You also are unlikely to be upcharged or have your time cut short.
Mileroticos, and Photoprepagos: most but not all posts on these sites are independents. Your mileage will vary. A LOT. Since you have not been in Locombia before, I suggest avoiding Mileroticos altogether. Photoprepagos can be very good, but your mileage will vary. Also delays or no shows can occurr. All messages thru whatsapp.
Lots of club and spa info elsewhere. Latin america also has concept of casas (houses). These are exactly that. Houses or apartments. Some have a line up, some are like a very small club. But most are a house which has zero markings outside. Many of the casas advertise on mileroticos or photoprepagos. Sometimes you communicate directly with the chica and sometimes with the casa. .
GFE tips. Feedback please!
GFE isn't for everyone. But if it is for you, I think Colombia the best in the world. Some say SE Asia or Brazil. Those don't do it for me.
So this thread, *and hopefully your detailed replies*, are about tactics to maximize GFE.
*Sourcing (where):
Very low probability: SF, SWs just too transactional in my experience. Sure some of you find gems.
Low probability: casas, mezanine, non-Chapinero clubs.
Moderate: chapinero clubs.
Moderate +: PhotoPrepagos, Facebook, a few of the better agencies.
Tip: Photoprepagos now has audio for some posts. The tone and word choice will tell you a lot.
SemiPro / NonPro: Pre-pandemic, ColombiaCupido and a few sites like it were really popular. I think they have declined a lot in popularity. Anyone still using that or the sugardaddy sites?
IMHO, the best source for SemiPro / NonPro is offline in the real world. If you don't speak Spanish, check Gringo Tuesdays.
Also good are just trying your game in pretty much any store, shopping center, or restaurant.
Other reccomendations?
*How:
Some are just good at GFE roleplay. But of course it depends on chemistry. And repeat business.
My recco is first meeting for an hour. Tell them you want full GFE, that you want to get to know a little about her.
Have some good topics to discuss. If there is chemistry, propose a TLN with dinner for your next meeting.
If things are going well, I have put the carrot of future meetings / TLN as a possibility after the first 15 minutes to make that session even better.
Nonpro. It's called dating. Lookup dating tips for latinas. Also research a lot about Colombian customs. There are a few good books, specifically CultureSmart Colombia.
Looking forward to your experience and advice.
