A big thanks to Sea Traveler, Zippos and other contributors who shared their experience with Badoo App. I got myself a premium account a couple of weeks prior to my visit to Jakarta and get a few matches. Most of girls will propose to switch to Whatsapp. Among those matches, this nice looking c, about Mid-20's and quite up to meet me for a meal. Karet station, on the Ciliwung river side, has no action. Long gone and a pathway joining Karet to Sudirman is under construction, I remember a time in 2012 when if one stayed at a north room in the Shangrila, you could see the steady stream of motorbikes and blue tents serving customers. All completely gone now. Not a park like Kalijodo yet, but just like any other crappy canal pathway.

Bongkaran, I never visited previously, as I understand it, it sat on the train lines on the south east side side of Tanah Abang station. According to the media the lokalisasi was bulldozed and stopped operating in 2017.

Well I found myself walking through a gang on the train line, what is without doubt the most depressive gang I've ever been to, bascially right on the train line south of tanah abang stn. Gang has hundreds of single rooms which back onto the rail line, and community bathrooms and lots of people looking depressed lazing about. There was definately action, I was propositioned a few times, but the crowd and the location, was seriously depressing and a tad scary. Not sure if the propositions were opportunist or a real mongering venue.

There is no doubt as a local you can find some short term romance, but I got to say the vibe was very wrong and its the only lokalisasi in Indonesia I have felt unsafe so far.

My limited bahasa usually gets me by with a smile and a laugh, but not many laughs going on here. Wallet positioned in the front jeans pocket and a smile and I made it out.

Anyway, just a little update FWIW of what I found less than 1 km from Grand Indonesia.

Due too my curiosity of meandering around kamungs, canals, train tracks, I goto some very poor places and never feel threatened. But the spidey sense was well and truly working overtime there.

Boring update I know, just planning to find some more remote places to report back on.

Is Mall Atrium, Jatinegara, and the streets behind Blokm worth a visit these days, anyone care to comment?

Went to the'Heaven in South Jakarta. Great visit as always. Hit up My Place on Blok M at 1 AM for "one beer" and had 8, until 5 AM. It was a lot more wild than the last time I was there, and there were some lookers. Would consider a visit in the late night.

Here's a customer service story about Sun City, a visit that went from good, to confusing, to great. Excellent pools. Friendly mama's who can speak good English. I took an Indonesian girl, and was told tip would be 1 M in room. The girl was cute, and the massage was really good. Went it came down to business, she pushed for a HJ / BJ. I was a bit confused. Anyway. All in all, they did the right thing. Management stayed nice about it. Everyone was super cool, and I am going back for a Chinese girl today because they made it right.

Hi friends, I am back today morning after my first 5 days visit to Jakarta. I met with one working lady and one girl who is about to start her job in Jakarta. VIsited all floors in classic, went to the'Heaven in Kelap Gading. Visited Travel, Colosseum club. Went to Bandung for one night. Last two nights stayed in BFashion hotel west Jakarta. As seniors said everything is spread out in Jakarta. Need five or six visits for me to explore places as I won't be able to stay more than 4 days. Missed Blok M,Kotah Indah etcetc. Will again come on March end and the place belongs to my kind of action. Excellent experience except one incident. When I am back from CJ bar with my working girfriend police stopped the car and asked to lower the glass. Said tourist inside. The lady with me told them we are coming after a conference. I showed the passport copy. They let us go. She was dressed in her office dress. I was thinking about giving 100 k to police as we discussed in the forum.
