Hey guys.
So I'm trying to do as much research on Bangkok and Pattaya as I can for my trip to Thailand in a couple of months. So far I've come to a conclusion that Soi Cowboy is the place to go in Bangkok? If someone has other ideas of where to monger and a good decent hotel in that area, that would be greatly appreciated. I've been to the Philippines several times and I'm into the gogo scene where you can BF a girl, get them drunk and have a GFE with them at your hotel.

If you cannot find anything Asian you like there, you will not find it anywhere.
Nana is too crowded and busy to my liking, but YMMV. Soi Cowboy is more to my taste. Patpong is for tourists and really in decline I hear.

pattaya and ac are comparable, except that pattaya is huge compared to fields and perimeter. pattaya has many, many more bars and roughly 10x as many girls. pattaya is safer than ac and i can't believe i am saying this; it is less seedy than ac. pattaya has pretensions of being a beach resort. stand on beach road and look out at the bay and it looks pretty good (although the water is polluted so go to jomtien if you want an ocean swim). ac has no pretensions. ac is pretty much a dump and i love ac for just that reason. but most guys would probably say pattaya is better than ac and you really should go to pattaya if you have never been there. the two advantages ac has over pattaya are prices (1500p to 3000p vs. 1500bk to 3000bk for go go girls) and the girls all speak english. pattaya girls speak some english. that is a big difference, but sometimes less is more.
so come to thailand. end of story. it will change your whole perpsective on women. now, if you have two weeks; then i would suggest a week in bkk and a week in pattaya. if you have less than two weeks, then pick one or the other. you can't go wrong with either destination, but for bkk you should do a little more homework. read up on the soapies and the oilies so you can sample all that is on the plate. cowboy and nana are great, but don't wait for your second or third trip to visit a massage parlor. for pattaya, just get your ass down to walking street at 8pm with a short list of go go's to check out. no further preparation is really necessary although you should know about devil's den, soi 6, and the ubiquitous beer bars. just to give you an idea, cowboy is maybe 2 blocks long. the walking street area is at least 10 times larger. happy hunting.

Taxis do not make good money running on the meter in a traffic jam. The rate per minute is too low. You will find that the driver is getting frustrated too. Taxis will always try for fast moving routes in preference, even if the total distance is much further, unless he genuinely trying to minimise your bill (yes this does happen too). So the true danger of running on the meter is when the taxi takes a route that is twice as far in order to avoid traffic. If that truelly gets you there faster, then great. Otherwise you end with a much higher bill and perhaps taking longer as well.
Traffic jams are bad for both driver and for passenger. Sometimes the taxi will refuse a destination based on knowing the traffic jams involved. Then you will need to offer a generous but fair amount without the meter. But beware of parked drivers looking for a chump.
On the other hand I sometimes have to tell him to fucking well take the freeway, and I don't care if it costs more, I just want tot get there as fast as possible.
