Pattaya Hotels

The last time I stayed at Flipper House was 2004 and they did not have in-room safes at that time. That's the only complaint I have about the hotel.

Thanks for your reply, Flipper House does not have in room safe so I have ruled it out.

Still doing my homework. There are just so many hotels there. I might just do what some of the guys are saying which is just book a couple of night and then check out the other hotels while I am there. It would give me something to do in the day time.

I booked this hotel for 4 nights in Feb. I got it for just under 1300 including Agoda's fees. The pix look good and it's fairly new. I assume since the other Sabai hotels are GF that this one is too. If anyone knows, please let me know.

Checking an hotel's girlfriendliness is best done by sending an email to them.

Just call them up... if you don't have VOIP then just bite the bullet and call regularly... You're gonna spend XXX money on airfare and you want to spend 5,000 baht to 10,000 baht a night on a room there but you don't want to make a phone call to ask questions about the property? Doesn't make sense to me.

Again I've never had a property turn me and a thai lady away when I make the booking as a two guests. If you brought in a collection of 10 low class hoe's at one time then sure I can see this property taking exception but if you take a working lady with you who is half way decent I can't see them doing anything except treating her like a customer.

When in doubt... call direct yourself...

I see your point.. but still I've never encountered a problem with taking back various women. I've rarely been forced to register a lady and the only time someone ever did comment on the change of women I told them that the number one wife went home and now I am with my Mia Noi.

Honestly in all my time registered at two people, I've yet to have an issue anywhere in Thai. Especially anywhere in Chonburi.

Tansak, honestly, would you say that this is value for money in the Pattaya area? In my opinion this would be too expensive even for Koh Samet.

My advise to the poster would be to book a room in Pattaya for the first night, to rent a motorbike or a car directly and to just have a look at more remote places on his own. I am sure he can find much better value for money than that in Sattahip, Bang Saray, etc.

Well I live in Thailand so calling isn't a cost issue. Calling Thai staff is not hassle-free though and as you said, TIT so having someone assuring you that there is no joiner does not mean that they won't try to charge one afterwards. Having a printed email helps a lot more.

Honestly I've yet to have an issue anywhere in Thailand too (even in Laos I've never had any but I am a lot more careful). However I stay almost exclusively in cheap Thai places. The mia noi trick is a good one though. It's Thai culture, hard to say anything for them :)

Slow down a moment, I think we agree on everything... I never mentioned if I thought it was good value or not. Personally I'll stay at a higher end resort in other places in Thai, sleep a mat in Isaan, serviced apartments in Bangkok, and I'll stay anywhere from Queen Vic on down or up in Pat's... Actually I like the look and feel of some apartments and Bay Walk Residence by Royal Garden but I've been a massive hotel wh@re and stayed at a lot of locations for a night or two in Pats trying to find "my" comfort zone.

I'm not judging his opinion on where to stay as we don't know his situation. But he has a right to do as he pleases. Personally I might stay there, with a corporate or discounted rate if I wanted some down time away but I wouldn't head to Chonburi for this type of resort I'd head other locations for that type of bungalow resort atmosphere.

For me... three week work trips do not qualify me to stay at 5 K + a night resorts unfortunately. I just spent three weeks in Thai and heading back in a month... my work will cover a lot of expenses but not those type of figures...

Going for 1st time.

Looking to rent a 3br apartment rather than getting separate rooms in a hotel.

Anyone know how to go about this in Pattaya?

Sure but I felt like it would be a good idea to comment on this aspect in order to try and help a fellow hobbyist make a decision.

OK I was bored... I called... And funny but I got a different report. No problem with a guy and a thai lady staying and rotating different girls every night per me calling them.

The folks on the phone spoke very little English, maybe a reason your email is being held up in reply they not understand what you said. I was very clear about I wanted to stay there and bring a different girl every night and they replied it is OK if only one girl, and booked as two people per room.

They did tell me I am not supposed to bring in more then one at a time.. I guess they heard about me ;)
