Davao end of Year
Guys,
Not long till New Year's Eve in Davao City. It is a good Place to spend NYE byt if you are here then, DO have a Lady with you. The Clubs are all closed and parties all over town is the norm for the night. If you are alone arrive a couple days early and find a woman for Dec 31. This IS as easy to do as I just stated.
I have been spending time online when not working. I got a little pissed off at my lovely 19 year old in Cebu last week. She was once again complaining that I am NOT doing enough for her. Had 2 silk dresses made for her in Davao last Trip and she got to go buy the new shoes she wanted. But she says she had to complain to me before I bought her shoes.
SO I have been looking for a replacement for her on various sites. Keeping to Cebu and Davao primarily as I like both cities and hotels in each Place. Have many friends in Davao city as well. I have met a good 20 women age 18-21 and another 20 age 21-29. I avoid the retirees over 30 unless they are super hot. All these ladies have given me cellphone #s, Photos and sent me messages wanting to meet me on this coming Trip. Many want to meet me at the Airport.
I have been seeking hot looking, young women with hot bodies and huge tits. Amazing how many like this are out there. And having to deal with the typical "cyber dickhead" who never will come to meet them, they are extremely excited to hear that I will be in Davao City or Cebu City shortly.
The 19 year old was telling me a few days ago that maybe it will be too much trouble for her to go to Davao. Actually, she had beeen super excited for this Trip. Her typical NYE Celebration is hanging out in the barangay with her cousins and drinking tubac or tanduay or red horse beer. All cheap and ALL DISGUSTING! They talk and eat whatever shit they can find and listen to a loud cd player, dance about and talk about the usual nonsense. Oh and lest I forget, they THROW FIRECRACKERS AT EACH OTHER! AMAZING!
Just the kind of New Year's Eve you want. A real Trailer Trash NYE Party! Why go to an elegant party, eat fabulous gourmet foods, drink excellent red wines and fabulous Champanges (Slayer personally brings these each year and they are the real item and great). Get to watch a widescreen entertainment program for NYE and great music on GE's music system and talk to interesting people. Yes indeed, it is far better to drink [CodeWord140] and eat garbage and throw fireworks at each other, seeing who gets the worst 3rd degree burns. Yes, a REAL PARTY INDEED! Have to mention the slimy filipinos they get to fuck that night and hopefully, the guy does not puke all over them. Great Party for sure!
So I can give a "Tinker's Fuck" or a "Fisherman's Blowjob" if she does meet me and celebrate NYE at GoodEnough's fantastic party. I have more than a few ladies "volunteering" to act as her replacement. Lovely, sexy and carrying a huge "Rack" of perfect tits. And NOT spoiled by Slayer's generosity towards his Special lady. I will definitely call her at about 15 minutes past midnight. Even if she does not answer she will know I am having a good time.
Reality is that she will go to Davao, especially if she thinks Conor's mother will be with me or I have her "replacement" alone. And not much chance of her wearing one of her new silk dresses at herr Barangay Celebration. Unless she doesn't mind spilt beer on it, some Filipino puking all over it and, lest we forget, firework burns. They look "great" on silk.
One of the ladies even got nude on webcam for me when we first chatted. Huge set of perfect tits and a beautiful lady. But she is 27, and there are 20+ ladies 18-20 with huge tits and beautiful faces / bodies who want to meet me. Anyone can do this.

Davao Soon
Guys,
GooDEnough's New Year's Eve Party is fast appraoaching. I still have not decided on what Champagnes to bring. Bck in Dec 31, 2006 it was Taittinger Rose' and Taittinger Vintagee "2002, premium champagne. The fololowing year it was Veuve Cloquet Rose' and Veuve Cloquet 2002 vintage, a premium champagne. Next was Champagnes from a "boutique preducer" in the Champagne Region of France; a rose' and a vintage. Folowing Year there was no Party as we were both in Makati then. Next Year I was ill and at home sick and GE stayed at his home, his plans for Pearl Farm going totally awry. Last Year it was 2 bottles of Moet Chandon Brut Imperial. SO this year it has to be something special! Not sure what.
My 19 year old infromed me the day after I did the previous Post that she is definitely accompanying me to Davao this Year. I gave in the other day and she had her travelling bag she wanted. I will arrive prior to New Year's to get situated. Should be a great time!
No one else is Posting. The Lurker I met at henny's "De Bonte Koe" Restuarant promised to Post here but never did.
Typical fucking lurker. Guy, next time I run into you, IGNORE ME. I am sick of fucking Lurkers. All they do is use the Forums and, like Jellyfish (Coolerbrew) , PM guys if they want to meet. This way, if like Jellyfish (loser has no fucking backbone) , no one knows who they are when they fuck some one over like Jellyfish did me a few years back.
Enough on Lurkers, fucking detritous! See all soon in Davao. GE is off now visiting Family here in America. I tried to call him a few times but was unsuccessful. He must be having a good time in spite of the cold weather. It is freezing cold even where I am here on the southwestern US west coast.

More on Davao 2012
Guys,
I heard from GoodEnough yesterday. He called me from the Northeast USA. Told me it was quite cold, an understatement. Here in the Southwest USA it rained all Friday / Saturday and again early Monday morning. Fucking cold here and my home is not setup to keep you warm as it is almost always hot here. So, I drink a lot of hot tea and wear extra clothing.
My young lady in Cebu will fly to Davao and probably we will meet up at the Airport. She is sick from rain and dampness in Cebu. Old her she would not like the weather where I am now. She has her new travelling bag which means Slayer will be getting fucked frequently. She loves to fuck but not when she is unhappy. And being 19 she would be unhappy without her very own new travel bag. Forget that until 14 months ago when we met, she had never been in a plane or off Cebu Island. Now, her expectations have increased.
Different "Front" but similar still, my teenage daughter called to hit me up for money for new shoes for some kind of Program at her High School. Gets expensive. She had a List of items she wants. Get her some of them as have to keep your "Little Princess" happy.
Still no idea what Champagne to bring to GE's Party. I plan to go to a Wine SHop and "wing it"; pick out something totally different from the 5, 500 Producers in the Champagne Region of France. Most do not leave France, hence why we have no knowledge of them.
Getting psyched for this Trip!
Guys, Dragon Slayer
Slayer,
How much did her new travel bag cost you? How does your 19 year old train for her fucking marathons with you? Do you think fondly of your aunt? I'm jealous.

Eric Tile,
Greetings,
Not sure the cost of her travel luggage. Told me it was something like P1300 ($31. 70) on Sale last week. She bought it and is silent for the moment. I don't think a hot 19 year old Asian girl has to train at all for marathon fucking sessions. She is 4'11" & 99". Can outlast me any day of the week. Last Trip she asked on a couple occasions if we could "fuck again later". This was after me having fucked her three times on the day, cumming inside her each time (no inability to "close the deal for DS"). Lasting a long time is easy for her as she IS YOUNG! A gerry (old lady, walking cadaver) would complain if sex goes longer than 30 minutes. She likes it to last 45 minutes to one and a half hours. Viagra and the Chinese herbs help for this.
No, I DO NOT miss fucking the old ladies or cousin (only a few years older) from my youth. If you read my Posts here, I have had the finest and sexiest and most beautiful women I have had in my entire Life over the last nine (9) years. In mainland China and the Philippines.

I know a lot about gourmet food (I'm half french & half Swiss) , I have been to davao a few times.
I cannot let you mislead anyone, gourmet food is NOT possible in Davao!
The best you can get is a descent Chinese meal at Marco Polo and a descent bistrot meal at Claude's.
Strangely the buffet at Marco Polo is very poor compared to other 5 stars hotels in the Phils.
Note that Claude is a great guy and runs a fine establishment, but he knows none of what he serves qualifies as "gourmet".
We agreed that it wasn't even possible to find AAA products in the Phils. (ie : sure claude can buy cheese from some importers.
In MNL, but those are made with pasteurized milk. Not with "raw" milk as all good cheese are!)
The nearest gourmet food from Davao would be Robuchon au Dôme at Grand Lisboa macau. (I recommanded it!)
It is also possible to get descent meals in MNL. I would recommand the Chinese restaurant from Hyatt (I believe it's called LiLi)
And also "The grill" which is the "international" restaurant from the Hyatt (it's only open for dinner).
I would recommand to stay away from the Chinese restaurant from Mandarin Oriental Makati, which is quite poor, and the french.
Restaurant at MO is nothing to write home (but I must confess I haven't been there for the past 3 years) , and has a quite poor.
Value for money.
If you are into buffet, the best choices would be Shangri La Makati, Mandarin Oriental, Hyatt and Penisula.
Happy holidays.

Slayer Rebuttal
Escort Fan,
GoodEnough has just returned home to Davao. He will be the "Final Say" on Fine Dining in Davao CIty. Now I am NOT French or Swiss but Irish American origiinally from NYC. I think we can agree that NYC has some of the finest Restaurants in the world.
Claude, owner of "Cafe de Ville", has his ducks flown in from France. Hence, the price for "Roast dulk a l'orange". I like this Restaurant and consider it excellent! And YES, YES, YES, I have dined at some magnificent Restaurants in various places in the world!
GooDEnough says the finest genuine French food in Davao City is at "Bon Appetit". Eyve, the Owner, has his own French recipes and operated a Restaurant in France before moving to Davao. He still says that many of his ingredients come from France, through Manila. This is often reflected in his "Daily Menu Specials". The magnificent, new restaurant in Davao City is called "White House". Located in Buhangin, it opened only a few months ago. Cost in excess of $ 1 Million US to build and the kitchen was $ 300, 000. GE calls it easily the finest Restaurant in the Philippines.
I have had magnificent Chinese food in mainland China and Hong Kong. Never anything near this in Davao or anywhere else in the Philippines. You mention restaurants in "Luxury Class Hotels". The places where I dine in Makati are not inside Hotels. Carpaccios on Yukal St in Makati is excellent for Italian cusine. I will post on the French Restaurant whose Chef is a Michellin Restaurant owner in Paris. I need to drop by this Trip. L'Opera in Fort Banifacio is excellent! Again, this is in Makati, NOT Davao City.
You are French and talk of buffets? I do not dine at buffets, only exception is "Entree'" Restaurant in the ApoView Hotel, Davao City. Food is okay but the ambiance is Exceellent! Live entertainment Thurs. Sat also.
This can go on forever. More in later Post. I love gourmet food!

With all due respect to your culinary heritage, you're wrong. Having lived in Paris for 12 years, I know a little about French food, and while this city is not teeming with the prousion of choice you can find in a similarly-sized French cities, there are quite acceptable dining options here, some of which are as follows:
1. Bon Appétit and Bon Appétit Le Bistro are operated by a local couple: Yves is French, from Montpelier and his wife is Filipina, but trained as a chef for 10 years in France. Both restaurants offer authentic bistro-type food. The ducks and cheeses (and of course the wines) are imported from France. These are my favorite places here and we're there almost every Saturday night. In act, I order most of my wines through Yves, who provides a nice selection through his French distributor who works out of Manila.
2. Café de Ville is located in a former Spanish colonial house that is a historic landmark, and it's beautiful. The chef, Claude le Neindre, is, I think from the midi, and he's operated his restaurant successfully here for more than a decade. He serves a brasserie-type of menu and the food is of consistently high quality, with the duck and the escargots imported from France, as are the wines. The downside is that the menu hasn't changed in years, while Bon Appétit's menu changes frequently, depending on the seasons and what's available.
3. The White House, a newly-opened French-Japanese fusion restaurant is in a fully-restored Spanish colonial mansion, with gorgeous gardens and terraces. As DS indicated, the entire restoration cost $1 million plus, and it looks it. The Chef, though Filpino, has been trained extensively in French and Japanese cooking and the food is simply superb. The resaurant boasts a very nice cellar with wines-largely French and Italian-reasonably priced. This restaurant would not be out of place in any of the culinary capitals of the world and it's somewhat difficult to believe, while dining there, that you're really in the Philippines.
4. Moresco Italiano will open soon in the new SM Lanang. It's been put together by Nino Moresco who operates an Italian pizza / pasta restaurent called Don Beppe, in Gaisano Mall. The menu has been put together by Nino's son, who is a "TV celebrity Chef" and has trained the kitchen staff. Since the place is not yet open, I can't comment on the quality of the food, but given the intention of importing most of the delicacies from Italy, I have high hopes for the place and will review it once it opens.
5. Swiss Deli is by no means "fine dining." However, it's operated by 2 Swiss Germans; one a baker and the other a butcher. The place has its own smokehouse and makes an extensive range of European sausages, hams and bacon, all of which are excellent. It also turns out a daily run of baguettes, rye breads, multigrain breads and pastries, all of which are excellent, and sells US Black Angus steaks as well as a decent assortment of Swiss and French cheeses. I do a lot of my shopping there, and eat lunch there several times a week, and the food is of excellent quality. Thiis place also boasts an extensive wine cellar with French and Italian wines in the Php1, 500-Php20, 000 range. It's also got some lower end Australian, Chilean and Spanish wines, none of which I drink, but which are popular with Filipinos.
I've not touched on the number, range and variety of restaurants operated by French chefs in the Makati / Ft. Bonifacio / Taguig areas, but there are many and some of them are excellent. Je Suis Gourmand, and Le Soufflé are two that immediately spring to mind.
So, the notion that one cannot find acceptable French / European food here is simply false. However, I've never found really good Chinese, Thai or Vietnamese food here and that quest continues.
The bottom line is that DS is correct.

Interesting change of semantics. You are talking about "acceptable dining options" and DS was talking about "gourmet" food.
Its not exactly the same thing.
Bistrot food is NOT gourmet food. Bistrot comes from the rusisan word "bistra" which means fast / quick.
Bistrot food is like french fastfood.
Note that I believe I have frist hand information, my grand father was working as an inspector at the Michelin coporation for the little red book. (the only red book in which I trust and consider as a bible!)
If you have lived in Paris and visited all the 3 stars (Robuchon, Lasserre, le Grand Vefour, L'ambroisie etc.) you should know that none of the Philippines is not even close to those standards in terms of quality of food, service etc.
For sure there are no restaurants in PH that are on par with 3 stars & 2 stars standards. Maybe a very few (like 2 or 3) could be worth 1 star I can't tell as I haven't been to "famous" PH restaurants such as Antonio.
As for finding good selection of cheese in PH allow me disagree. What you find here is mostly the cheeses we find in french supermarket. I've actually had a discussion about that with a french swiss guy I met at Claude's. He's the owner of a business that sells european products to PH restaurants. The best stuff, is made of raw milk, not only it's banned for import in many countries, but most product couldn't handle such a long trip. So we are left with industrial cheeses that are more suitable for travel and are made of pasteurized milk.
There is also the matter of quality of products. While in davao the tuna is good and some other fishes are good too. I found the tropical sole to be clearly not as tasty as the one from Bretagne / Britanny. Same goes for lobsters which is why Mr Robuchon is importing living blue lobsters from britanny (homard bleu breton!) to HK.
In regards to failing to find descent Chinese food in PH have you tried LiLi at the Hyatt? It's really good, and Chinese guys I met there agreed with me.
There was a list of top PH restaurants :
See http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/lifestyle/04/30/12/83-ph-restaurants-shortlisted-asian-guide-book
Strangely the only davao restaurant mentionned there is :
Ah Fat Seafood Plaza, Davao.
And you don't even mention it in your list.
Is it bad?

The Michelin Stars
Thanks Escort Fan for the interesting rebuttal. Yes, I've eaten at L'Ambroisie, Le Grand Véfour and Laserre, and yes I agree that there's nothing even remotely comparable here, but then there's nothing much in the rest of the world that's comparable either. If that's the gourmet standard you're setting-at the highest rung of culinary art-there's zero in the Philippines that could possibly interest you. My standard, which I cannot classify as "gourmet," was one of very good food, properly prepared, plated and served. All of the restaurants I listed in my last post meet my definition and none of them come close to meeting yours. However, there aren't many of us, most likely, who would go weekly to spend $300 per person or so on a meal, no matter how spectacular. Don't misunderstand me; I had probably the best meal of my life at L'Ambroisie, and would gladly return, but not on a weekly basis, and of course there's nothing in Davao (or the Philippines) resembling the Place des Vosges.
I do disagree with the statement that bistro fare is "French fast food." I would argue that it's French standard fare, and as such, it's remarkably good in comparison to the cuisine of most countries. It's not gourmet, and it's not fine dining, but for me it's highly acceptable and that's about the upper limit you're going to find here. I do agree with you however that I've never eaten in a restaurant here that would attract a single Michelin star though I would remind you that any star from the Guide Rouge indicates an extraordinarily high standard.
Ah Fat's is a big, noisy, somewhat sleazy restaurant serving mediocre Chinese food. It doesn't come close to even a tourist restaurant in Hong Kong, and isn't really worth a mention in any guide.
As to the cheese, I agree in part. Recently I've had a superb brie de Meaux and Roquefort that are equal to what I would buy at a good crémerie or fromagerie in Paris. Believe it or not, I've also had a locally-produced chèvre that was excellent. You really can find high quality cheeses and wines if you look and if you know what you're looking for. However, for the most part you're correct. Even French or Italian supermarket-grade cheeses however, are superior by a large margin to the crap typically sold here as cheese.
In short, while I agree with most of what you say, a Guide Rouge standard is inappropriate within the context of this country, and if I tried to maintain that standard here I'd starve. However, relative to what passes for food and restaurants in the local scheme of things, the restaurants I've mentioned are quite acceptable. Last night, for example, at Bon Appétit I had fois gras de canard poêlée served with caramelized apple slices in a Calvados sauce that was simply excellent, accompanied by a Taittinger Brut champagne, followed by a sabayon aux fraises for desert. By Davao standards, a remarkable dinner and even by French standards a thoroughly acceptable one.

Slayer Laments
Guys,
I will Post on this later. I had to postpone my departure by two weeks. Too much work and the stress of trying to accomplish it all before Dec 25 was too much. I am here in my City for New Year's Eve. I first called my beloved son, Conor in Davao City. His mother got him on the line and I told him I could not be there by NYE. His reply,"ok Daddie. How are you?" He then ran off as his mother explained that he is busy in the front courtyard playing with his friend. So much for his "depression" over my failure to arrive as scheduled.
A call to the 19 year old in Cebu told me she was most likely going to Davao CIty with me to make certain I was not fucking Conor's Mother or some other Davao Lovely. She sounded ok about it and I think she is excited to spend the time with her four sisters and her two dozen cousins her age. So she will be tossing firecrackers come NYE. Better than what Dragon Slayer will be doing.
Escort Fan,
If you ever stay at the Marco Polo Hotel in Davao and ask the Concierge for a good Place to eat, he will have "Ah Fat" in his List of nice restaurants. A Filipino food critic in Singapore dined there with her husband when visiting Davao City. Liked it! BUT Filipinos have a different idea of good food than westerners. My Daughter and her Mother dined there on recommendation also of The MP concierge. They told me it was good but the other restaurants I took them to (Cafe de Ville, de Bonte Koe, etc) were better. I ate at the Chinese restaurant just up from A Fat once and it was okay. Barba, from this Forum, thought Ah Fat was "just okay".

DS,
Of course I do stay at the Marco Polo, it's not like there are many options in the city.
Note that I had simple and descent meals at Marco Polo pool restaurant.
Simple meals work out best in such places!
A grilled marlin, or tuna, a fresh local Pomelo juice! (I like to drink the local stuff!).
Works for me!
By the way I remember there were much more attractive girls among the MP female staff, than at hotlogs,
Have you ever managed to date one of the MP girl?
Claude told me (I'm talking about 2 or 3 years ago) that there was a super hot girl working at the Apo view salon de thé.
Did anyone manage to go anywhere with her.
GE,
I do disagree with the statement that bistro fare is "French fast food."
If you read my post again, I was talking semantics, as I said bistrot comes from bistra, the Russian for "fast / quick".
So there is nothing to argue about, as it's a given fact.
Note also that I am opened minded, most french think it's hard to get a descent meal outside home, I don't!
I really like HK & Macau for their restaurants! It's the proof that asia can have top restaurants (outside japan of course!)
I've had some good meals in BKK even though I find top BKK don't promote enough Thailand food.
-
Escort Fan, I apologize. I should have reread your post. I think that Thailand has some of the best food on the planet, yet the restaurants that appear to be the most highly promoted, at least for tourists, are Western. I guess that the Thais feel that their spices wouldn't be appealing to Westerners. My best Thai meals have been in restaurants to which I was taken by Thai friends, who could assure that I wasn't served something adapted to farang tastes.
There are at least two new good size hotels nearing completion here, all of them in the 3 star, business traveler range. Both are being built adjacent to new malls; the SM Lanang and Abreeza. The GM of the hotel next to SM is from Norway, and I've met him a couple of times. I gather from our conversations that the new establishment is intended as a decent, but strictly no frills kind of place, and that its guests are expected to take most of their meals at one of the new restaurants in SM. The hotel will be operated by one of the Radisson Hotel chain companies.
As an aside, I've now been to the new SM twice and was thoroughly unimpressed, aside from the grocery, which is enormous, very clean and very well stocked. It seems to have by far the nicest and freshest fruits and veggies in town. Also, in a departure from the usual in Davao, there's plenty of parking. For shopping however, I believe that Abreeza is superior.
The only "high end" restaurant in SM will probably be the Italian place that's scheduled to open next month or sometime in February. There are no acceptable restaurants, at least in my opinion, in Abreeza, unless one likes the Italiannis or TGIF chains.
Returning briefly to the hotel topic, it appears that the Marco will continue to dominate the top of the range for quite some time, which I suppose suggests that potential investors do not see much of a market for deluxe hotels in Davao.

Davao Women
Escort Fan,
Marco Polo does indeed have some of the hottest women in Davao City working there. Easy to hire them as tips are good and listing the MP on your resume does wonders. Can apply to work in other MP hotels (three in HK). There was a beauty, age 23 and single mother, who worked in the Continental Club. She took a real liking to me. If I were to transfer to the Apoview Hotel I could have invited her over. Staff then had stick rules prohibiting getting involved with Guests. With cameras and Security and other Staff (Filipinas cannot keep secrets ever) around, it is hard for a MP Lady to sneak into your Room. She ended up in a Hotel in Saudi Arabia.
This Policy must have changed as last year at GE's NYE Party a guy I shall call "Hoss" (very appropriate considering he is a fucking "horse's ass") took as his Guest the lady Manager of the Continental Club. She was cute but no real beauty. But Hoss IS an obnoxious Ass!
