Those ideas do not serve them well. In Thailand as well as the Dominican Republic the idea of a "relationship" in their culture is very different from the ideas of what a relationship is in the culture they come from. I actual find the different relationship standards and requirements to be quite to my liking. Everyone should try them on for size. They are much more useful in the real world.
