I think "standard" prices in a BBS for FS is around 3200~3400 NT so 1500 for 90 min sounded too cheap. If the girls are around the 35~40+ range, then I will probably skip this area. I already know one or two BBS in town where I am good with some of the girls and can get special treatment ;-)

BTW, went to SC last night after a long day in the office, got there at about midnight but still avoided the park (just seems too quiet and too many men standing the wrong area to be touts). I parked away from the park and visited 3 shacks I hadn't been to before - almost fronting 'Hubian Lu' (or is it Huanhe Lu?) or whatever road that is. Not sure what the deal was, but also not sure they were undercover cops. It just seemed there were many more shacks open than I am used to seeing, but then I usually go around 4-5am anyway so I thought it could be the time difference as well.

It may have been some mafia-type activity, a convention perhaps? Hahaha - because the shacks appeared to be humming. Perhaps not cops at all ...

Welcome to Taipei and I dont want to sound like an asshole but RTFF. There are plenty of reports from all the brothers here. But if you dont read Chinese (do you speak it?) then I suggest you stick with Yuki or whatever services you want to call in or go to Asiaworld, places that are used to dealing with foreigners. Going to SC or any of the more local haunts is not a good idea if you cannot even speak to them. You will be lucky if they only want to rip you off.

Also be advised that the police seem to be more active recently in cracking down on places so be extra careful, that goes for all the brothers. Have fun but stay safe. Nothing is more shocking then having your door opening to 3 guys waving badges in your face and a WG naked on the bed ;-)

Rag, i do not want to be rude, but this post is full of BS. i have been visiting SC for over 10 years and in the very early days my mandarin ability was very basic to say the very least, but i never once got ripped off nor did any of them even try it, i was always quoted the going price. To be very open about things then you actually pay more than i do in SC, although i go less and less these days as i have an excellent and open local network in place.

Suggesting that the only places that non or poor mandarin speaking can go is only Asia world etc is also doing a disservice to the many fine places available in Taipei.

I was there just the other night and some tout quoted me NT$3k for 20 minutes, before grudgingly agreeing to NT$2k. Of course I just went next door for a prettier girl at the going rate of NT$1.5k. If the touts think you are green, they will take you for what they can. The new guy without any Chinese would be a sheep on the shearing block.

I must agree with Rag, I think it's a fair warning to foreigners with no command of Chinese language. I have personally saw many shags "sky rocket" the prices after they realized they can only speak English. And I have hang out in Taiwan long enough to get some *locals* to tell me how they ripped the foreigners off. What were they going to do? Go to the police and said, "hey officer, I got mugged at this brothel I visited. "?

If you are a first or not so frequent visitor looking for action I suggest you hook up with a local who does, or stay with Asiaworld Sauna or just call "Special Massage" section in the English newspapers. Remember to call their bluff when they ask for $5000-6000 by saying, "$3000 is what I paid last time"

Houziwang, i was commenting on the need for mandarin, not whether the tout thinks you are green or not, that i am not questioning, and happens in every country not just Taiwan.

Simple sign language for those who speak no mandarin still goes a very long way and in some cases is actually easier than trying to use mandarin where it is easy to get yourself into trouble verbally, but not so easy to get yourself out again.

Chinese is a good equalizer because it generally shows that you didn't just get off the boat.

However, this forum is perhaps an even better equalizer in that it allows you to know what to expect in terms of price, service and general mongering situation.

Ideally, Chinese and knowledge of what you are getting into should result in the best price but, in my opinion, knowing what you are able to learn from this forum and applying it would be even better than having good language ability but no idea what is happening.

I don't perceive that SC or any other area is particularly dangerous in terms of actual physical safety, aside from the possibility of local mongers hunting you down if you pay 2K up and make things harder for the rest of us.
