Why the hell are people exchanging money on the street with a bunch of tigres. This is NOT Venezuela!! Use an ATM or go to a bank!!!
BTW: BQ Ribs... Australia's is located at 125 Ramirez. I was there at 5pm on the 16th (Friday)... the place was empty... believe me, she can use the business!!!
I lost about 150 dollars, with a scam on the street, changing money with some guys in Park Independencia near Pacos restaurant. Guys offered 36 peso exchange, I was supposed to get 7200 pesos, for 200 dollars, I had the 7200 pesos, then the guy said let me check and he added a bunch of 50 pesos bill. When I walked away and later checked my money I only had 1800 pesos. Seems this is on ongoing scam in Santo Domingo, the guys are good at this fraud. I went to the police and then two different police stations. I hope they catch these scumbags. It is the last time I will change money in the street in Santo Domingo. I think I encountered one of these guys on my last trip in July on Ave. Independencia, near Pasteur, but I did not change money with him the last time.
Just a heads up, these guys will offer a super great exchange rate, but somehow they switch the money, not sure how they do it, but they fooled me.
I've been warned not to do the black market money on the street. Too much conterfeit money floating around. Not worth the risk.

Thanks dude for the info. A couple weeks to go and Australia will be my first stop. From what I understand Australia is strictly take out and there is a hotel/cabana close by. Prtry2 has been really helpful with info on local places and from what I remember you is the Boca Chica man.
BTW, what is the going take out rate?
I have to lay low on the BC scene. That chica network can get you into a big mess with your main woman. LOL
Exchanging money on the street is the stupidest thing I have ever read. Is the possibility of one or two pesos extra on the dollar worth the risk? I think not.

Casa Australia
BTW, what is the going take out rate?
RD$1,000.
Nevertheless, between the RD$500 for Australia, the RD$500 for the room, and the RD$1,000 for the girl, the drive is rarely worth it. I just keep hoping that things will go back to how they used to be, a room full of young women waiting to plucked; however, that was a few years ago.

You are right about that. GBP is only 1500 pesos. I may still give it a try just to say been there and done that.

Australia is definitely hit or miss, probably more miss these days but to me a must visit for at least one time. Just weird sitting in this tiny living room in a small house in not a great neighborhood drinking cheap beer from the colmado. Since my first time there was maybe 10 years ago I go every once in a while just to visit Australia herself.
I don't use the hotel so 1500 total isn't that bad. I am sure if I hit the right chica she would stay for a long enough time to make the 1500 seem cool.
last trip I was just helping australia. Nothing to write home about.

In three weeks I will cast my vote but you guys are confusing me. Is the address 504B or 145 Francisco Prats Ramirez. It was also mentioned the house is about to get painted a different color.
Go up Mendoza, make the second right..............house is on left or right side of the street and does the house really have a house number? As a matter of fact is there actually a street sign with the name of the street. If there is a street sign and a house number this must be a well to do neighborhood. LOL
I will do my best to check this place out and the joint off of Gomez.

Definitely NOT sex prison here. So many chicas. I have averaged two per day, usually the chicas I meet online, same day sexo. Any guy can do so much f__king here. I have no complaints. All shapes, sizes and colors of chicas here.
Gbp was good, my wingman did some cute morena, 1500 pesos. There is a chica named Lucy, big chested blonde who opens the door. I also chatted with Wendy, who let me sample her breasts for free, very nice body, she sort of reminded me of a pekingese dog with her upturned nose. I have had little sleep in 4 days. I feel like a like a cow that has been milked many times.
Assorted BS to deal with here (sometimes bad traffic, some thiefs), but there are so many different types of chicas here, any guy will have fun here.
I was friendly with one waiter in Coppa disco in hotel Melia and he went and introduced me to various chicas in this disco.

You are getting confused.
MC is the one off of Mendoza. I have not heard they will paint it. It is on right hand side and is 504b. Yes there is a number on the house. I don't know if street is marked but I am hoping you can count to two.
Australia is off of livio cedeno behind hotel Principe and that is the place that may get painted.

Santo Domingo
Hello all,
I was in SD last April and loved every minute of it. Many of the reports I read on here were right about the hotels and their guest policy. One great thing I found was that many of the girls who work at clubs, on a Friday night or Sat night if they can not find customers all go to the club at El Jaragua. A lot of the girls we had seen who were asking for 3500 pesos were willing to go at Jaragua for 1000 pesos. Anyway planning another trip soon.
Thanks for all the advice and keep up the great reporting.

I think I got it now. MC is 504b off of Mendoza and Australia is located at 125 Ramirez, and both places are take out only. Whew, I is getting dumb in my old age.

SD mini report
I am now at the hotel el gran almirante hotel in Santiago, went out last night to a small bar and saw the hermanos rosario group. In Santo Domingo, I ate at Manolos restaurant many times, it is located on Independencia behind the Jaragua Hotel and Casino. Manolos restaurant is open 24/7, good prices, fast service. I had a cheeseburger, papaya juice, tostones and french fries, cost was 11 bucks. Many places in Santo Domingo will have printed on the bill, the cost in dollars, euros and in pesos.
Many places in Santo Domingo are now non-smoking, including the Melia Casino. Seemed to me that most bars, restaurants and discos are now non-smoking.
I was sitting in my car one afternoon near Avenida Independencia, not far from Ave. Pasteur and some guy came up to the car offering to exchange money at 36 pesos to the dollar, I of course declined.
I got stopped by two guys in a khaki colored uniform who were on a motorcycle, they stopped me on Ave. Maximo gomez while I was heading towards the malecon. This occurred around 3:30 pm on Thursday. I got out of my car and asked what was the problem. These two guys had been parked on Maximo Gomez and made a you turn when I drove past them. I believe the guy said to me that another officer had called them on the radio, with my plate number to say I was talking on my cell phone while driving. I told these two guys, that I had no minutes on my cell and that I was not talking on my cell while driving. The guy then tried to say I went through a red light, I said no, I did not. The guy then said that I would have to pay a mil peso fine (around 30 dollars). I said give me something in writing, a written ticket, with your name on it. Of course they didn't give me a written ticket. Kind of bullshit that these two idiots can harass tourists. The whole conversation was in Spanish. I said "Darme el tiqueta en papel con tu nombre. " Of course they don't have any paper to write traffic tickets, seems to me to be another scam in Santo Domingo.
Stopped in Bonao on my way to Santiago, some chica I met online, first time seeing her in person, drove around Boano for 20 minutes, with her in the car, then went with her to a cabana in Bonao. CIM, no money was discussed, I gave her 900 pesos. Attractive 24 year old chica.

Yeah, the cops will pull over gringos hoping for a "propina" or "multa". It is especially bad in December as the cops all need to buy xmas gifts.
I have a method that has gotten me out of paying a single centavo every time. It has worked at least 30 times.
I pull out my cell phone and say let me cal mi hermano. I tell them my brother works at US Consulate and he said I should call him if I ever run into trouble. At that point I usually get a "feliz navidad" and am on my way!
I was with a buddy one day this December where I used that trick. He said "I didn't know you had a brother at the consulate"? I said. I don't have any brothers period!

Police harrasment
That is a good tactic to use about your brother at the consulate. Last year while traveling from POP to Cabarette the police had a road block on the main road passing sosua. I was dropping a girl home after an afternoon in pop. I had a couple beers at europa plus my passport was there in the safe (damn). I speak decent spanish so when he said su passaporte por favor I knew what he wanted. But I gave him the dumb ass gringo look like I don't understand shit. After asking three times and getting the same look, he got frustrated and said vamos. After we pulled off the girl said she had to look straight to keep from laughing at the frustrated police officer. Sometimes the dumb ass gringo works, if they can't communicate with you what are they going to do.
