About 90% of the time, the ladies aren't good at business, so when the sponsor money stops, the business fails, and the lady comes back to Pattaya.

Plan be is marry an old Farang, and live him to death (Doctor Who reference). This is inconvenient for the Thai boyfriend, especially if the lady relocates to the Farang's home country.
