This is why you can't pull aside the "make it rain" crowd and give them some game because they'll marginalize your wisdom as being a "hater"
It's not about hate it's about living in reality. Most of these guys work 9-5 regular jobs. And again if your a baller or a so called millionaire why would you need to fly shithole like Sosua to buy pussy.
Real Rich Succesful People don't need to flash money. They know they have money and don't need to impress broke dirt bags that are looking to rob and scam you. The brokest People are the most flashiest loudest person in the room.
That's the difference between Gucci Mane and Bill Gates.
Exactly the reason Kenny Graham got out of jail in Rio and hangs out in Sosua now. I got to laugh when I see a shoe shine boy in Sosua wearing gear from his tournament in NYC.
http://youtu.be/eeyg3rpH6q8
LOL. Speak of the devil. My wingman just asked me yesterday if I ever see him in Sosua. I saw him once at the Meringue Bar and that was over a year ago. He reminds me a lot of a buddy of mine who lives in Pattaya. Every night he hangs outside in front of the club, then goes inside and hangs in the back of the club, then later on goes to hang at another club. You never see him with a drink or anything, he just stands there. And every night without fail. I just don't get it. Do people who live in Orlando go to Disney World and do the same thing everyday? To me you have to have a life outside of that shit.

I once asked a great old school mambo dancer (1960s) why there wasn't much footage of him dancing in the clubs, and he explained to me that in his time there was so much going on at the clubs that it was taboo to walk around with a camera because you might catch someone in the background doing something they weren't supposed to be doing (cheating on wife, drugs, drinking, etc.).
Today, it's probably the opposite. Everyone thinks they need to capture everything and put it on youtube or twitter. Once you put it out there, it can be used against you as those kids in Ohio recently found out. Powerful information can get in the hands of the wrong people more easily now than ever.
At some point, someone will probably be smart enough to describe and quantify the effect of this exposure on the town of Sosua and those that have visited.
Here are some more "entertaining" vids.
I once asked a great old school mambo dancer
It's funny as you wrote that a commercial came on TV here in Santo Domingo advertising Mambo 36. It said it is tadalafil (lab name for Cialis). Does anyone have the scoop on this brand? Nevermind. I did a search and saw that it has been discussed many times.
Unfortunately, Sosua has already started the transition into becoming thug central, so all Kenny can do is add more gasoline to the fire.
I think you're right. Although, the heavy investment by Canadians and Germans, real estate developers, and those that want to Cabaretefy Sosua are trying to nullify that transition.

Lol
well after watching a few of the videos posted i can only say one or two things. first is that the collective iq of that group of ballers is probably less than 100 and more importantly. well, it seems like they will keep coming to sosua and in some way this can be a blessing, since they will attract all the unwanted attention, being in the spotlight and the monger who keeps a low profile might go unnoticed and unrep001hed. the prices will probably go up but that is the story of the world everywhere.

the cops already know who to shake down and harass because these guys willingly paint targets on themselves by being so flamboyant. the chicas will be all too willing to assist with helping to scam them. even if she only gets 5000 pesos or even $1000 usd out of the deal, that's a few less johns she has to sleep with. and, as mr. $50,000 has shown us from his video, the bigger the baller (display), the grander the scam pay-off.
meanwhile, i'll continue to show up looking like an average joe shmoe and slip in and out of the place unnoticed.

Maybe Ilana did have a grand plan when she teamed up with the gangster, Willy.

I can imagine that much more of this stuff is going than actually being reported. As long as there continues to be a heavy police presence there (they were not there in number like they are now pre-2011), expect more of the same.

Hey guys,
I'm booked for Sosua for the first time in mid-May. I was pretty psyched about it but all the doom and gloom here seems to have me a little concerned now. Is it still a worthwhile place to visit? I've done a lot of traveling so I'm not a complete noob, but the extent of my mongering has been the termas in Rio. In Sosua I was planning on lots of days on the beach and visits to Passions or CMP. Maybe some chicas from the clubs at night. From what I've been reading of late though, it seems staying away from these freelance chicas and sticking to the establishments would be my best and safest bet. I understand these chicas are all about the money, I don't have any delusions otherwise, but are they worth the risk?

Too much easy money for Peter not to spread his legs too.
the opening of D'Latins was the beginning of the end for me.
Certainly seems like we have more people in less space at times. As others have pointed out in the past, the internet, demise of mongering in Brazil, and cheap direct flights to POP / STI from NYC have all contributed to the current state of Sosua. That being said, a person with an open mind and some common sense and respect can still have a great vacation there.

Same here, traveling on a first time trip to Sosua in 2 weeks.
After reading the forum the last few weeks particularly this post, I'm having second thoughts. Having enjoyed Colombia, Peru, CR, PI, and Thailand am I wasting my time in Sosua? Does the GFE still exist or is it just a city with thugs, thieves, and mechanical LON all trying to make a fast buck?
I have a non refundable $1000 ticket but sounds like it may be more lucrative to cut my loses now rather than have a miserable vacation with the potential of extortion and jail time!
Thoughts and feedback greatly appreciated!
