Well said
First of all, I am an oily guy. Set price. 1 1/2 hrs 2100k. Difference is I know what level of service I am going to get. Girls are polite and most have a well developed skill set.
Yeah, me, too. I like the massage shops and know exactly where to go to get my rocks off. It's nice to be able to make a booking and take your time with a woman, (or two), that you know.
GoGos are an unknown quantity and to pay 2k to a gal who is going to want to run off after a quick screw is nuts.
I agree with you here, somewhat, but some of my memorable sessions have been with go-go dancers. You can tell a lot by the way they dance. You can also tell a lot by what they do, (i. e., how they treat you), when you invite them over for a drink. I live with a former go-go dancer, so I found at least one that I like.
And yes, when you look at the way most WGs in GoGo treat their "customers" it is with very little respect. They speak and act in ways that would get them slapped in most places and sit back and laugh about it with their friends, but of course most guys have no idea what is happening because they do not speak the language.
It helps to understand a little Thai as well as various dialects of Isaan / Lao, and Khmer! And then there are there are the obscure local dialects from the NE border areas. Me? I can't hear much in go-go bars anyway, so I just nod my head and smile. I don't really care if they are making fun of me, as I'm the one with the money (which is all they really want).
Most of the dancers I've seen lately (in Bangkok & Pattaya) are very young and act like lesbians when off the stage. Observing them for any time is like watching kittens in a cage. These days I generally only go to go-go bars where I know at least a few of the dancers. My reputation precedes me when I walk into these clubs. Buying a few strategic drinks for some of the girls, and the mamasan, at new bars usually guarantees good treatment the next time you stop by. La la la la.
I agree, a man that tries to pay 500 baht is pretty cheap. I don't think I ever mentioned that amount by the way. The amount in question was 1k baht for ST. I would gladly pay a gal 1. 5k if she was good looking and willing to provide the level of service that I expect, no matter what the venue.
This was a generic comment than one directed at you. There's a lot of Cheap Charlies who read this forum, especially the Pattaya guys. But, then again, they usually get what they've paid for and that's a good thing.
And again, one of the issues here is that "guys don't come to Thailand to f&^k wh&*^s, the come here to date wh&*^s." Myself, I want to go to a venue, have a PSE for 1 1/2 and then leave. Don't want to hear about momma, kids, or any of that.
Good attitude. I would advise any man who comes here on a sex holiday to follow this format. But when you live here, emotionless fcuking gets a little monotonous (and expensive), and a little "feeling" with an attractive, insatiable, pleasant woman can go a long way to enhance the lifestyle. And, contrary to popular belief, it can sometimes work out to be a bit cheaper in the long run. ;)
1000 Baht for an hours work is FAR more money than 95% of the people in this country make.
Soapy and oily prices have not increased in the least over the last 12 years, with the exception of the 100 baht "tax" that was added to soapies in I think 03, yet the GOGO price has increased over 100.
The only thing that matters is the local economy, not the costs back home.
Are you saying Thai girls should get no more for fucking asshole farangs than the average wage? The girls expect to be paid far more.
Soapies are costing me significantly more than I paid 12 years ago in BKK. Its not the same soapies, but the prices are defintely higher.
I like to compare prices of everything in Thailand to back home to get the feel of the average price ratio.
In general I expect things back home to be about 3 to 5 times more costly.
My townhouse in BKK would cost probably 3 times more back home, for equivalent suburb.
Some things in Thailand are excessively cheap, e. G. Taxis and sex, due to huge oversupply.
These may well be more than 5 times more expensive back home.
Some things are still very expensive, e. G. Farang goods: iPhones.
Coffee is a luxury item. I see bankers eating 30b plates of food everyday. Do working girls deserve better food?
1000 baht is a lot of money for these poor farm girls. Their dads make about 4-5k / month. All they need to do is 5 quick fucks (5 hours of work) and they already make more than their fathers who slaves over the farm (300 hours / month).
Yep, the greedy farm girls try and hit up stupid foreigners for 2k ST because they know Thai guys wouldn't pay these astronomical prices for the same quality pussy. Most girls are looking to make 50k+/monthly, far more than their worth on a Thai level! Just because they expect to make a lot doesn't mean we as mongers should give in to their high demanding prices. Unfortunatley, most guys think with their heart and not their heads.
Working girls want to go to a decent proper Japanese or Italian restaurant too.
The real question is whether YOU deserve better food and a nice coffee, or just 30 Baht for a measly plate.
Working girls have to support their parents who can't make ends meet due to drought or floods, plus put younger sister through univeristy so she won't have to fuck for a living, so how little their parents make is not relevant.
Some girls are in sex work in order to save up to open their own business.
The smart working girls reject the greedy / stingy Farangs who want to pay so little. They probably already know they will have difficultly stemming the vomit reflex when they have to suck his smelly cock.
Some of us get great service however, even from carefully chosen gogo lookers. Haven't had a bad one for ages, but have a collection of favourites. You will never get a stunner for 1K in Bangkok unless she is seriously naive or works in a Thai only district due to having no English or being repulsed by Farangs. Even in the Thai bars, I doubt it.
Go to Cambodia. The girls are much cheaper but not that good looking.
<cut A bit more expensive today in the Gogo's. But who goes there and expects real service. Oh, I forgot, those specialists, who know (and complain about the prices).
BTW, Goatsrot, are you aware that the "local economy" was quite strong in the past few years? Unemployment low, difficult for the bars to get girls for the business? Salaries / wages rising?
I for myself enjoy the luxury items (several cups of coffee every day) and pay the prices (coffee is really expensive here). I don't really care how much it is. If it is fun, why should I care? I even don't want it to be cheap, that keeps it reserved for me, and I even pay a bit more then. That's luxury, right? Wow, I am a real asshole. I know! I really enjoy being an asshole. Better than being a Cheap Charlie!

Let's talk about the impact of the current flood on the prices, guys. I think I pay a little more in the next few days. 3000 all night, ok? Will help all those poor farmer families, who cannot grow rice right now. They basically do what they always do (NOTHING). But I think I can help them a bit. I think that's the right thing to do. But. We should not talk about that. Cheap is good!
BTW, the girls really like me (I am so handsome!). I overpay, constantly. Sorry for that!
Giotto
Yes, yes, you wicked wicked man. Ha Ha! Spoiling the market.
Even Thai students drink at Starbucks. Some can afford it.
Can't say you are an asshole for spending some money to help some Thai families.

Nothing ever good comes out of spoiling an Asian hooker, but western guys do it all the time. Western men are used to handing over their power to women back home, that's why most of them are in asia fucking around. They have zero power in their home countries, yet they come to Asia only to hand over their power again.

Bangkok Visit
A few experiences this week that reflect the fact that there seems little consistency in BKK and that therefore peoples' experience will differ and that it is probably unwise to generalise.
Hilary bar on Soi 4. Good looking lady in her late 30s complains of lack of customers but "bar fine is 600 baht and she charges 3k / 5k ST / LT". I laugh and say I understand why no customers. One of her younger companions (a 7) offers 1. 5k / 2. 5k, quickly reducing to 1k / 2k when I do not accept. Good performance in the room and likes the room so much, that she reduces LT to 1. 5k. I send her away in the morning after 3. 5 pops and a great breakfast with 2k. The older lady revises her pricing strategy for my next visit, but I leave her in the bar.
Oilies are charging between 300 and 800 baht. Cost may reflect the professionalism of the massage. It certainly does not reflect the attraction of the masseuses as there are beauties and dogs in both price brackets.
Loads of ladies on the street, the beer bars are often empty with more girls than customers, the majority of go go clubs are the same. Costs vary with go go still demanding premium as they have some Japanese, but prices reduce as evening goes on.
Gullivers and the Beer Garden have plenty of choice and it is a buyers' market. I offer 1k / 2k and no one rejects. Performances are generally good and I give tips appropriately. I am popular enough with the girls I have taken for others to accept the reduced rates.
My view. Pay what you feel comfortable with as it is your money. However, I do not want to ruin things for expatriates living here on reduced incomes.
Have fun.

Flood and Nightlife
Hello,
Wondering if the flood situation has had any impact on the nightlife and mongering scene in Bangkok, particularly the Suk area. Will be visiting BKK in 2 weeks hence the question!
Take care,

Of course not. And 1000 for an hour of their time far above the average wage here. That would be 160k baht per month if you factor in an eight hour work day. That is what some directors and upper management make. A very good wage.
I am from D/FW Texas. Your housing dollar goes a lot farther there than it does here. A six pack of great micro-brew is about 7.50. Hein here is over 40 bath per bottle at 7-11. Health insurance is far cheaper here as are women. Other than that the US is cheaper than Thailand, that is if you want to live a Western lifestyle.

Biggest difference in the "scene" from 12 years ago is the proliferation of internet dating sites and the amazing amount guys who want to spoil hookers. We can learn things from the Asian man. They know how to compartmentalize. Gals you date and marry are gals you date and marry. Hookers are hookers. There is a real distinction between the two. Would you date a girl with a 6th grade education back in your home country? Probably not, so why do it here? Only difference between most of these gals and those from rural West Virginia is that these gals are cute and have all their teeth. But guys still have the "rescue ranger" gene and end up in a bad relationship.
Most of us who live here bring quite a bit to the table. A majority were successful enough of an estate in our home countries to put together enough to retire or we can make a living here, so it is really silly not to demand that the gal bring something to the table besides the wet spot between her legs.

Let's face facts. No girl has to become a prostitute in this country. There are other ways. It is the easy way out. Shows a lot about their character. Don't get me wrong, I like 'them and love to partake, but a rent a gal is just that.
You're well behind the times, IMHO. It costs more than 30 Baht for a decent cup of coffee. You don't get much to eat for 30 Baht anymore. Okay a very small plate, mostly rice, plus water. Your supermarket shopping trolley rarely comes to less than 1000 Baht unless you stick to cheap Fruit and Vegs.
1000 a heck of a lot of cash? Its barely $30.
If the girls wanted to make an average wage, they would do non-sex work. They clearly expect to make a lot more by selling sex.
Look a decent 2 hour sex session in my country would cost be a week's rent on a very nice house. A week's rent on a very nice house in Bangkok will cost a lot more than 1K. Okay sex should be cheaper by a bigger ratio due to the very high supply of girls wanting to be fucked for money.
5 years ago, a pretty soapy M. P. Girl was happy enough to make just 1K for each 2 hr. Customer, but not anymore.
I sometimes see Thai school kids aged maybe 12, with iPads, these days. Obviously from a well off family. Many Thais on the train have iPhones. These things are not much cheaper in Thailand than in a western country. Thai working girls may not be able to afford iPhones, but I bet they want a pretty flash one, just the same.
Jeez, last time I checked (both this morning and afternoon) , every stall in the On Nut market and every venue along the street was still selling kuay tiaow noodles, rice with two toppings of curry or other, congee, stewed pork, Hainanese chicken rice, and just about every other dish for 30-35 baht. It has been and stayed that way for a long long time, and I can guarantee you that 90% of the working girls (plus millions of other Thais) are eating their meals in these places, and NOT in Siam Paragon or upscale restaurants. And a good cup of cafe boran (filtered Thai coffee with condensed milk, which hundreds of people line up for every morning and lunch hour) still costs 15 baht in most spots, maybe 20 around central Sukhumvit. Yeah, if you drink a cappuccino in Starbucks or those type of places, it will run you 100 baht or so, made by a worker who is earning 300 baht a day. Guarantee you he or she ain't drinking the coffee there either. 1000 baht still can go a very long way here, one reason why all the office ladies and millions of others who earn 10-15, 000 baht a month are able to survive and not complain too much.

Go to Cambodia. The girls are much cheaper but not that good looking.
Some pretty gross generalizations there. Met a former coyote dancer last week, used to work in a very upscale club. She has been to the US and UK, she has had some very wealthy boyfriends and sponsors, and she looks damn good. She asked me for 3000 baht when we met, and I told her I wouldn't give more than 1500. She decided she liked me anyways and stayed with me almost all night, we had an absolute blast, and she has been calling since to come and repeat. Why on earth then, would she go with this stingy farang and repetitively stem her vomit reflex, when there are a zillion guys who will pay her more? (and I ain't Brad Pitt either). When I asked her, she says I am polite, treat her nicely, can speak intelligent Thai (and she can speak English, nor is she naive) with her, and I make her feel damn good. I think that most guys who live here (or come here and actually understand the scene) will attest to have having plenty of wonderful beautiful women for 1000 baht, just as I am sure many can attest to have having some real bad apples at 2000.
Probably 90% of the working girls in Nana or Cowboy, if you asked them if they enjoy going to Italian restaurants (and to not say yes out of politeness) , well, let's just say you wouldn't have too many customers. The vendor I go to to eat Kao Man Gai (Hainanese Chicken Rice) has been written up in Elle Magazine, and people line up for tables at her roadside shop every day (she probably does the best Kao Man Gai in the country). Her food, which only costs a measly 30 baht, is far better than most of the 5 star restaurants that I am feted at for my work on a daily basis. Sorry to say, the adage you get what you pay for, has extremely little relevance for most of these subjects.
