Mouse1,
Close the window and turn on the AC. Why didn't I think of that? No, both the AC and window were closed. Getting bit by bugs is all part of being in a 3rd world country. Even sitting in one of the open door restaurants here bugs are everywhere. I can't imagine not having bugs around you. Unless you are covered head to toe in bug spray. But, here taking so many showers and massages. I prefer no bug spray.
Maybe you just don't have enough stress? Scientists think there might be a relation between stress and mosquitoes. When you're stressed-out your body produces chemicals that the bugs don't like.

Although I have to say that in my experience I get bitten MORE when I'm stressed-out. But maybe that's just a coincidence.
Mouse1 and Fast Eddie 48,
Thanks for advice.
I understood Soi 6 means: 1300 BTH = 1 hour = 1 shot, right? Does the same rule applies in general for ST freelances / bar girls? Or this is up to negotiations for example 1000 BTH = 2-3 hours = multiple shots?
Soi 6: in most places the charge is now 300 bht for the room and 1000 bht for the girl. It used to be 700 bht for the girl, but the 1000 bht price seems to be more common now. Having said that, if you offer 700 bht you may well be accepted, particularly if it early in the day, or it is quiet for other reasons. For that you get 1 shot.
You could probably negotiate for more, but frankly you wouldn't necessarily want to sit around in a short time room waiting to recharge. Best to have one shot then go find another girl if you have the power.
With most girls, freelancers or bar-girls, it's either ST or LT, and it might be hard to explain what you want otherwise. But money talks, and you can get anything for the right price. That price will depend on the girl, and her expectations.
In real terms, the prices are low, and frankly you can afford to 'waste' money. I met a girl last visit in Soi 6 at 11 am, when I really had 'no power' after a hard night. But I thought, what the heck. We agreed 300 + 700 bht, went upstairs and had a nice time, although she had to work harder than she anticipated, finishing off with a nice BBBJCIM. Everyone was a winner!
You don't need malaria pills in Thailand and certainly not in cities like Bangkok or Pattaya. If you get bitten a lot you can use a spray (with DEET if you want), that's all you need.
Agreed. It would be crazy to take anti-malarials if you don't need to. I repeat that I have never been bitten by a mossie in Pattaya, but a few places where there is greenery and water you often get some savage midges.

In Pattaya the last thing you need to worry about is Malaria? Dengue Fever!

I don't think you can get them any more but the main ingredient is ammonia, and it works in seconds to take away the itch. You might give it a try, all you do is dab a little on the fresh bite. I hope it works for you.
Small dab of Tiger balm on a bite works equally well.
Of course, since the main ingredients of Tiger Balm are camphor and menthol. Both work as a mild analgesic.
With the added bonus of keeping the rest of the biting gang far away.
That is less certain. Most of the "smelly" anti-mosquito products have, upon scientific tests, no effect whatsoever or the effect is limited to the immediate part of your skin where it was applied to. Mosquito's are attracted to you by certain elements in the smell of your sweat. Hence, like a true hunter they fly upwind to you and bite you. The very few effective products confuse the mosquito's sense of smell or masquerade your smell. DEET is one of those rare products.
None of the Tiger Balm components are known to have that effect. There is a Tiger Balm Mosquito Repellent product that adds citronella as the repellent. Unfortunately citronella has no effect on mosquitoes, although it does work for other flying pests, such as little flies.

That's what I do anyway just for shits and grins. It seems to work well though and I'm not bothered by the nasty little critters so much. Long pants and shoes with socks also helps to keep the ankle biters away when you are sitting outdoors eating a nice meal. I can usually detect and destroy the little biotches before they land on me above the waist. It is the females who do all the blood sucking, just like in human life experiences LOL. They take your blood and coat their eggs with it to feed them the necessary protein to develop yet even more blood suckers.
when you sleep just leave your ceiling fan on and make sure you feel the gentle breeze on any exposed body parts. mosquitoes can't sustain flight in breezy conditions so they tend to just stay away from them.
hope this info helps, now let's get back to discussing pussy ha ha LAT

Day 6-7 trip report
It took my like 5 days to get adjust to the time difference. Now I can stay up till very late. The independents on beach street are not fully out until 11 pm. You will see a few out relier in the day and it will start to really build around 7 pm. With everyone out by 11 pm. I found a couple diamonds. The hottest girl are grabbed fast and it is just luck. One girl I found was 19 rail thin with a black chicks bubble ass. I am so upset I did not get her number. It was incredible and only 700 baut.
I am going to try to concentrate on more independents now. At some of the bars they charge 350 to use the bar bedrooms when the bar right next to it will charge only 200. I am going to start boycotting places that over charge out of principle to keep cost down for everyone. Otherwise cost will continue to rise. I found there is no difference between the bar girls and independents except the independents are half the cost. You just have to work harder to find them.

She told me about be-12 for Mosquitoes and it's other benefits. I've been taking 1 tablet a day 2500 MG for a number of years and as for me it seem to work. I do not wear long pants and short 100% of the time and shoe and socks only when I club or Go. Go. Out here in the Darkside away from the City, Hotels and such the black mosquitoes are all over the place and after all these years I could feel their bite and I just look at them to see how much I can take and when I flick them away I don't welt up or even feel a itch after.
High doses of vitamin B12 are supposed to keep them away from you as well, with out the harsh chemicals and bad smells.
"Supposedly" but a 2005 study laid that claim to rest (http://skeptics.stackexchange.com/questions/6390/is-vitamin-b12-an-effective-mosquito-repellent http://www.bioone.org/doi/abs/10.2987/8756-971X%282005%2921%5B213%3aTVBAAH%5D2.0.CO;2) and although further research was suggested it did not seem to have happened. You can bet your bottom dollar that if there was a tiny shred of even doubtful evidence that (any) vitamin works as a mosquito repellent, it would be all over us on the Internet, sponsored by the vitamin-supplement industry.
They still bite you, so B12 is not effective as a repellent.
Correct they do bite you, I just do not welt up or itch. I can actually see and feel them biting and when I had enough I just smack the shit out of them. I've been to some real dump Thai places to eat and even sleep with Thais and they are complaining about Mosquitoes biting them. If they hadn't mention it I would not have know?
As for Malaria, there are hundred of cases in Pattaya (Chon Buri) regarding Dengue Fever each year that the City officials keep under the wrap because they want the tourist to keep on coming. Never put any stuff on I don't even think about it I just go on my daily stuff everyday. But I see some tourist from time to time as if the mosquitoes had a buffet on their leg?
Next time I come to Thailand I am going to buy one of those sleeping nets to sleep in. Every night I am getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. I definitely recommend it.
I spent over 2 weeks in Thailand, half in Bangkok and the other half in Pattaya and can't remember ever getting bit by mosquitoes. Two different hotels, neither had issues with mosquitoes at night, but neither hotel had balcony's or windows to open that would let in the bugs. So have to wonder if your staying at hotels that have balconys and not keeping the door shut? And not sure how a sleeping net would work with a cute Thai girl curled up next to you, it would ruin the mood for some late night booty call.
