Figured I'd add what little I know about Korea during my first visit.
I'm staying at the Grand Hyatt S. Korea. The place of JJ Mahoney's.
A place listed as possible hot spot to pick up pro's semi-pro's or perhaps if lucky a regular girl seeking a good time.
Thursday night. 9:30 PM. From what I can tell there are two clubs. A live music sections and a disco. The Live band section had a few people in there. Noting of interest. The disco was completely empty.
I'm sure that the place starts happening later in the evening, but just wanted to pass on the information for those coming here and planning a possible visit here.

You can get the discount on the doctor visit, but not the drug. I just got some viagra and it was 112,000 for ten 100 gram pills. I went to the Seoul National University hospital. I wouldn't reccomend it. I had to almost convince the doctor to give it to me, and he wasn't to thrilled about it. I think they are too professional there. I think the doctor consultation was only 12,000 with the Korean health insurance.

I have been intrigued by all the talk about the RLD at Yongsan, so I decided to go take a look. For those of us who have been to the newly remodeled Yongsan Station and have a basis of comparison to the station before, the difference is amazing.
Anyway, look for the sign for the Electronic Market, and go out the opposite way. I took the escalator down to the courtyard. When step out onto the courtyard, look up to the skyline and to your right. You will see a building called Dacom (big red C in the middle of the name). Use this building as a reference marker for walking direction (you won't be going to that building). Walk toward the building until you come to the road sign for Baek bin gil. This is the road sign at a crosswalk; go across the road, and take a right. The Dacom building will go out of sight for a moment. The sidewalk veers left, and when you take the corner, Dacom will come into view again. Now, forget about Dacom, and walk straight ahead. Very shortly, you will see the start of the "A" row.
I had a tie on, and the ladies on the "A" didn't turn away as I had experienced before. Some kept looking, and I even got a smile or two. I didn't proposition any of them, though. I went to the "B" row, and I was getting called in right and left. The difference between the "A" and "B" rows are significant IMHO. The time of day was about 4:30pm.
One other tidbit: I had reason to go the Electronic Market. If you need to buy something there, go farther into Yongsan-dong than just the market that is connect by the walkway (the walk way off the subway station, that is). This is where all the foreigners get screwed out of their money. If you go to the second floor of that first market, you will see another walkway. Follow that walkway until it ends at stairs, take the stairs to the next tier. Go through the parking garage (straight ahead). On the other side of the garage is where you want to be. Look for a building (across the street and to the right) that sits diagonally on its foundation. This diagonally positioned building is where the locals go to buy electronics. I didn't see another westerner the entire time I was in there. You can get better deals there. On the way to the crosswalk to get to that building, check out the many shops (including one underground market).

Barbershop scene has changed a lot here in Kangnam. It used to be massage and strocking, but they all started to have hidden shower facilities where the girls wash you off and do everything you dreamed of from an Asian girl. Sort of like soapies in Japan.
And around 110,000 gives a good wash, massage and good fuck.
I got in during the lunch time where I was the only person. They were offering three-ways for extra $100. Declined the deal and stuck with one until my lunch hour was over. Got myself a hamburger to go, used my lunch hour very wisely. God it's good to work in Korea

Just wanted to add my concerns and reccomendations for wearing a helmet when out and about. CNN has been reporting a new strain of Syphilis which does not go away with the normal treatment. Instead 2 weeks worth of painful in the butt shots of penicillin are required.
Anyway, I have met a couple of fellow mongers in Itaewon who claim that the stuff is here too. It can spread quick, so better to be safe than sorry.

Quest,
Thanks for the post. I agree that early stage HIV-DNA test can catch the viral load even before it shows up in an HIV antibody test. The most dangerous period of HIV infection is from a person before three months from infection. I read that the probability of infection changes from 1/1000 in the antibody existing stage to as high as 1/5 in the early and acute HIV infection phase. The highest risk is after 20 days from infection. That scares of you know what out of me.
I wonder though what are the chances that the "health police" tests using the HIV-DNA test. The test is still very expensive even in the West so most tests are still the "ooppss...too late 3 months later antibody test."
If anyone has information about the type of blood tests that Miari, etc., girls get, I would be interested in hearing.
-
Mr Dance Air,
The HIV-DNA test is to the best of my knowledge not being used for any kind of mass screening, with the exception of the Californian adult movie (if that qualifies as a "mass screening")
It is not cheap, but still affordable and may be the best buy you make. Have no idea about the price in the west, but Bumrungrad charged 2000 Baht (or possibly 2500). With a neg standard test (such as Elisa) plus a neg DNA-HIV, I think it's pretty fair to say you are on the safe side, HIV-wise at least.
Hep C is of course, another matter, another test.

Had an interesting morning....
went out last night to Itaewon, ended up in Limelite and got a number from a really hot chick. Was a bit surprised as some guy came up to me and said she wanted to talk to me. Saw her in a club in Hongdae 2 weeks ago but did nothing...doesnt matter now though:)
My friend and I approached two girls, one of whom I had slept with over a year ago, however I was wearing a baseball cap and maybe she didnt recognise me. My friend took that girl home and shagged her..the other girl wasnt interested and when I was letting her off into a taxi, some Korean girl came up to me and said hi. After the girl left I followed her up to a juicy bar with another Korean guy who she claimed wanted to buy me a drink. Turns out he didnt but I paid 4000 won for a Cass and there was no pressure to buy one for the girl. Another Korean came in and negotiated with the girl; they went into a private booth but came out a few mins later..for some reason the two Korean guys started fighting and ran on to the street, so I started talking to the girl. Her boyfriend was apparently in New Zealand and she said she was lonely. I made some up some story of a girlfriend who had just gone to Italy so I was lonely too. I thought I was getting somewhere but obviously I was in a juicy bar so didn't reckon I was getting anything without paying(which I wasnt going to do). One of the Korean guys came back and he bought more drinks. The girl was flirting with me pretty heavily but never asked me if I wanted any extras which I thought was weird.
Eventually she locked up and as the three of us were walking down the street she asked me if she could come back to my place. Unfortunately the Korean guy would not leave us alone and told the girl that if she left with me he would cause problems for her, so he got in the taxi expecting to come to my house as well!
Obviously this was cockblocking gone mad...The guy wouldnt get out of the taxi despite me, the driver and the girl telling him to get lost. So when we stopped at traffic lights at a junction near my house, I pretended we all had to get out. He got out, we didnt and the driver sped off leaving the guy standing in the middle of the road. The look on his face as we sped off made all the previous bullshit worthwhile.
than the girl tells me there will be no sex, which is fine as anytime a Korean girl tells you there will be no sex, that means you are getting some. When we got home she was up for it and we went at it for a few hours. We woke up this evening at about six and went at it again. I finished off with CIM. She never once asked for money, just that I drop by her bar and 'dont forget her'. She was pretty hot and I must have been in the right place in the right time. The actual bar where she works is not on the hill itself, but near it.
Just shows that sometimes Itaewon can throw up some pleasant surprises:)

Mojoman:
A number of girls shave or keep a landing strip, but of course you won't know until you try.
STDs are more prevalent than Koreans like to admit.
For the RLDs if you are Korean all you need to know are numbers to negotiate price.
Good luck and have fun.

Wow, that story is crazy!

looking for some recommendation on YJG. How much will it cost to take the taxi to YJG from down town Seoul? How easy is it to come back from YJG?
thanks,
-
Paddy 23
Great story!!! Did you ever get her name?
-
Quest,
Regarding YJG (Yong-ju-gol), the last time I took a cab it cost 37,000 won I believe. I remember just giving the guy 40,000 won though. Approximately $35.
On the ride back though, I remember the taxi driver (who happened to be a chick) was lost, and I ended up paying 50,000 won (about $43).
Total, roundtrip was 90,000 won, or about $80.
The cabs that you get in YJG however, are not Seoul cabs, so you may find a few people trying to charge you more when you try to get back home. So, I think it's a good idea that when you decide to take a cab to YJG, you tell the driver you want him to take you there, and take you back when you're done. You guys can work something out.
One driver told me of an incident where he took 3 or 4 Japanese guys there, and they had arranged so that he would take them back to Seoul afterwards. Well, Japanese have more money than the average Korean, and they ended up paying for the driver's "good time" as well.
Or, if you have a Korean friend, perhaps you can get him to drive you there and pay him for gas and a little more (assuming he's going there anyway).
-
To Quest,
It would cost you about 40,000 or over because it is really far away. It will take about one and a half hours to get htere from the Central Seoul and I think you should negotiate the taxi fare because as it is out of Seoul you need to pay extra money as Koreans do.

the law has been changed a few years ago that you can not buy drugs without doctor's prescritions and according to quest's note about miari. i think you should've used condome for the sake of yourself because i know rlds are one of the safest places because if one girl has a sexual disease then the pimp of the house fire her or do some other action because if it rumours to people that there is a sexual disease then they are going to lose all customers. anyway, you do not know when you will get an accident or get a hiv or whatever so the best way is to protect yourself with pre-cautious behaviour.
as korea is one of the safest country in the world from sexual diseases there was a report today's morning that in the world hiv positive rate is getting increasing at a fast speed.
i think korea will be safe for more than 10 years from now on but it can be done through our right action.

Byung,
Thanks for the info. I think I will pass on the YJG for this trip.
probably will stick to 588 or Miari.
Thanks
