Guys prostitution is not illegal according to SL law! (neither a legitimate profession)

Only three things are illegal in Sri Lanka,

1. Trafficking people for prostitution / or for forceful sex.

2. Running a brothel or of such nature.

3. Promoting prostitution in public.

LE can arrest street hookers or if someone promoting him / herself as a prostitute. Even then the max fine is Rs100. In Rikiz case he must be charged for unsuitable behavior or supporting.

Customers are not guilty. But they arrest you for being at that place and you have to justify yourself at court. If you check in with details of one of you as guests to the hotel you are clean.

This is why LE can't raid 5 star hotels as they take ID and considered guests and they put notices saying "Not to entertain visitors". So those hotels come clean and if LE wanted to raid. Hotel can block that too because they consider the privacy of guests as their duty (the room is like a temporary home for the person staying) So like police can't raid our houses without a warrant they can't raid hotels without warrant. To get a warrant first they have to prove that they engage in such business before court. Won't work even if someone just tipped off. So see why honeymoon couples are safe from LE!
