I live in Phnom Penh and spend a lot of time at the Walkabout. Dinghy is dead on. The ST price is $10--Period. I am familiar with the girls ReallyANiceGuy has posted photos of, and all will go for $10 ST, $20 LT. If they are coming to your hotel, unless it is on the other side of town like the Intercontinental, add $1 for a moto back (although she will probably only pay 1500-2000 riel). If people want to pay more, it is their money and they have the right to do what they want, but I sure wish they would not. It really hurts us local guys by eventually driving the price up. There are already 1 or 2 of the better looking freelancers who are trying really hard to get higher prices, although they will still go for $10 ST if they know that is all you will pay.

The price in the brothels is $5, but as stated they will tell you it is $10. Just politely say "Oh, I did not realize the price had gone up" and start to walk out. You won't get far. The key to negotiations here, or really anywhere, is to know the correct price and never, ever ask how much. TELL them what you will pay, or if it is a brothel where you pay in advance, just hand them the $5 before they even have a chance to mention the price.

In a quote in newspapers today:
'Cambodian Tourism Minister Thon Khong told Chinese-language newspaper the Commercial News.

About 1,500 passengers come to Cambodia through Bangkok everyday, making up 30 percent of all daily entry of visitors into the kingdom, he said.

"Each of them is expected to spend 770 dollars per day in the country," he said. '

Well, I know what my spending habits are and that I would struggle to spend that amount of money.

Is any board member willing to own up as being one of these tourists? I couldn't fit that number of girls into my room, let alone service them all!! Even taking an expensive hotel room, and I can never justify that myself, it would still leave a lot of money to spend each day.

Not I! That is almost my monthly budget! I never pay more than- $15. for room, $20. for pussy, and $15-20 for food and beer per day! so approx $50.00 per day! And I do not always fuck or drink silly everyday. $1000.00 a month is enough to have a great time. Shit the local rarely pay more than 100.00 a month for rent!!!! Me too, but unless your a good looking young stud, i dont think hot looking girls from 104, shanghai etc would even look at you for $20 unless its the rainy season and their desperate. I have to second the motion here as I've notice you guys paying more and more each time I read your reports.
1) its true that knowing the going rate will always get you a better deal for yourself and all those that will cum after you.
2) don't always count on getting the lowest rates as some will NEVER go for that price, but knowing that it should be $10 but up to you if willing to pay her 20, but starting out with a price 3-4x the norm $30-40, and you've been had even before your pants fall down.
3) dont worry about inflating the prices for the locals, they know the local price and will not pay anything more - they are by far the smartest of us all. Remember, their money is much harder to come by so they will not freely give it away (unlike some of you guys).
4)going prices are as stated above with a few exceptions. Some brothels will not even service foreigners and some that will take foreigners will not settle for anything less than $10 (sometimes $7 if you are a repeat), I know this as they would not even stop me as I threaten to walk away. But many options available, so just move on.

spend $770 per DAY? hell, I couldnt spend that much in 2 WEEKS depending on where I stayed.

Walker Black is $28/liter.

Rooms CAN be as much as $200 (Intercontinental) IF you are absolutely certifiably insane (Flamingo is $25/day - you CAN do for less but Flamingo is pretty nice).

meals? Eat where the locals eat maybe $12/day to eat VERY well indeed - you DO need to enjoy local food, though.

So what's that leave maybe $700 for WOMEN? Hell, if I wanted to spend that much I'd stay HOME. realistic spending would be room $25, food $10, stuff $25, entertainment (bedspring boogey) $25 long time with higher class lady for a total of Maybe $85/day - add to that transport for maybe $6/day and you are STILL under $100/DAY

Walkabout now is in the process of renovating the old "Chip Lay Hotel" (right next door) so probably in April or so they will have a lot more rooms and a LIFT, too.

Might be a bit more of an issue with security than before though - that locked door at WA was a bit of a deterrent. Unless they control access it might become a bit more of an issue. The reason they got it was because the owner threw out the drug dealers that were in Chiplay.

I can't believe any of you are taking this quote seriously. It comes from a Cambodian government official, which automatically means it is untrue, and when it is the official whose job is to promote tourism and the spending of tourist money, well...

Most girls at Shanghai these days won't go for any price (within reason), as they are looking for boyfriends--of course that can change if rent is due or they are otherwise short of cash. However, I have taken several hot girls from hostess bars and never had a problem paying $20 for overnight. Generally, the girls who want more will say so upfront or at least ask how much you plan to pay, especially if they know you live here. I had one girl quote me $25, which I passed on, and one ask how much I was going to give her who then said she was tired and was just going home when I told her $20. Other than that, I have had no problems getting girls on 104 and 136 to go for $20--but it has always been after midnight when I have asked.

I don't go to brothels much, but I have never had a brothel in PP refuse my business, or refuse $5. Karaokes, yes, but not brothels. Where did you find ones that did? (So that I can avoid them).
