On a separate, but related, note, newbies may want to be aware when they come here that small bills and change are a bit difficult to keep on hand. What I’ve realized is that so many things here are inexpensive and therefore you are constantly paying in small bills and coins, which means that you are constantly running out of them. It is a bit difficult to pay with larger bills as many merchants will say they have no change, whether they actually do or not. And, unfortunately, many of the ATM’s seem to dispense only the larger (1,000 baht) notes. If I am wrong about this, could someone please correct me and inform us newbies which ATM’s do dispense bills smaller than 1,000 baht notes.[/QUOTE]Great report TD.
Any one of the hundreds of currency exchanges will happily break down any of your bills for you at no charge. Most of them are open from about 10:00 to about 21:00.
Keep up the fine reports.
I'm looking forward to reading more of them!
