Yes indeed, unbiased reporting would be key. Hence the reason I offered to accept comp only one day (as I already have a place I paid for during my upcoming stay in the DR north coast) and I was going to pay for the chicas and sample at least 2 (to be fair in case one sucks...no pun intended).

I would be interested in staying at MR in the future but not with the iffy reports coming out of there currently.

At any rate, if management accepts, I will do it for one day and report back on quality of accomodation, chica, attitudes, pricing, and peripherals

They usually contact you within a week of your trip to confirm you are still coming. If you are a little nervous, just email them to reconfirm your reservation. Easy to do and eliminates any doubts.

If MR will give me 3 days for free sometime in the next 3 months, I will commit to:

1. Having sex with at least 10 Chicas (MY cost)
2. Eating at least 2 meals per day on the premises
3. Providing ALL my own condoms and lubrication
4. Soaping down and personally cleaning the body of each and every girl who works there, including those "hard to get at" places that sometimes get overlooked.
5. Signing a waiver that would allow MR to freely reproduce and use images of my penis in any of their advertising.

ok so this is my first post in this forum so I would understand anyone challenging what I report when I get back from DR in January. So here is the deal:

I will be at Oxygen retreat for a few days (I know you giuys believe this place s a waste of money, but being this my first time in DR I would not venture on my own) but my airline flight was only available one day before my booking with oxygen and my return is one day after my vacation at oxygen. Therefore I am looking to stay somewhere for 2 nights, one the day before my vacation and the second after my last day at oxygen.

Anyway, I did look into BB and they have availability, then my problem is that BB is at the opposite end of Cabarete and they do not have airport transfer service. So this will be a problem for oxygen to drive me from BB to their retreat. So, then I turned to MR and see they are much closer to cabarete, in fact, they are suppossed to be near Playa Dorada which is close to oxygen and I would have other activities at thebig resorts if I do not like what i see at MR. In reality, I am looking for a place to crash and decent food. All resorts I've looked into around Playa Dorada or Puerto Plata are above what I want to pay or there is not availability for the dates I want or they want to force me to book for a minimum # of days.

I would also consider any suggestions/alternatives

Hey Buddy,

BB DOES offer transportation. Just email them with your flight info, and they'll be at the airport to pick you up. Also, they'll gladly arrange for a taxi to take you wherever you need to go (and the "other side of Cabarete" really isn't that far :-)

I highly recommend that you spend a day or two at BBs, and the reasons you've given to not do so are, in my humble opinion, not sufficient to deny yourself such a pleasure (and this is from someone who spent 6 days at Vikings earlier this year).

Anyway fellas, I'm off to Germany for a week tomorrow. Going to spend some time at the FKKs, and also 2 days each with a couple of gorgeous young Czech girls who I'm flying in. Have a great week! - Tripp

Listen to this guy. Let me say that differently, LISTEN TO THIS GUY !

Tripp has been there before. Go into the Reports of Distinction thread here and you will find an exhaustive report on his time at Vikings, a very similar resort to the one you are going to. His advice is coming from experience. He has sampled both venues.

I am not dissing the MR. It is closer to Puerto Plata and the owner does own a strip club in PP. The MR is very new and has not gotten any type of consistant reviews. If there is any consistancy in the reports it actually seems negative. I will tell you I am a big BB's fan in all fairness, but go through the posts here and the posts will speak for themselves. BB's is far more established in this field and provides a laid back, no pressure experience. Girls sit around waiting for you to "ask them out", pricing for chicas is prenegotiated, the hotel is clean and the restaurant on site is quite palletable. I assume your main objective in visiting the DR is not for the cultural experience.

BB's aranges taxi pickup at the airport for about $40 bucks. There is a small taxi company located a couple blocks behind BB's and they can take you over to Cabarete when you need, or where ever you arange the driver from Oxygen to meet you.

The recent banter on MR stems out of jest in that the only way we at ISG will get unbiased reviews for the MR is to have a complimentary stay there. The only positive reviews of the place are from a guy who got comps there and is affiliated with the place. When you read the forums be sure to have your "BS meter" out to filter through what is good advice and who has an agenda (heck, I am sure there are those who filter me out thinking I am a shill for BB's - I really don't care).

Really I envy you here. If money was not the issue I would sample a place like Oxygen, but to hear a guy like Tripp recommend BB's speaks VOLUMES.

We have a refund policy that does not apply for acts of god including storms, therefore this policy does not apply to Hurricanes. In reference to the girls, we have a different type of establishment then most alike places, our girls are mainly in our nightclub or Cristal Rio day bar, they also come and go and it is very hard to keep track or pictures, that being said, here are some pictures we took of the web site last month. We prefer not to post girl pictures for the obvious reasons including, that the girls do not want their faces posted on the Internet due to privacy issues. I hope this clears the air for you, let me know if I can be of any other help!

No other "Real Resort" keeps your money when there is an upcoming disaster. They incourage you to re-shedule and hope to see you when things change. So I guess I was right on point when I thought they were full of it.

Went by MR twice last week and looks like no one was there. It looks like a freshly painted vacant property.

This should be another "business lesson" to wht ownership.
Drop the deposit arrangement. If a potential guest has a chance of losing part or all of his deposit if he has to change his plans, he will be reluctant to make that reservation. Why should he, when there are plenty of other places there that don't demand that?

I actually called in October about making a reservation, but wa put off when the deposit requirement was explained to me. Too many ways that plans can change.
Why worry about canceled bookings at this point, when the place is full of empty rooms?
Make things easy for guests and get some business first!!
