Offer to let the meter run while he's waiting, and tell him you will give him some extra also for his time. Don't ask "How much?" Just wait for his first monetary offer for the job. Experienced gents will already know the driver will inflate the price by hundreds of pesos. If you counter-offer with, say, p200 less, and he quickly accepts your counter, you'll probably know that your -200 counter-offer was also too high. This initial-high-offer seems to be built into everyone there, including the province. Pinxy are highly opportunistic. One could make the case that pinoy often inflate prices for gringos, but that might be making my case also (its cultured).

Goferring also makes another good point, about walking away. Many gents simply can't. I'm not sure why. Girls in phils are a peso-a-dozen. You wouldn't go to the hardware store for a hammer (or fly across the globe for girls) and pick up the first hammer and swing it gently to see how it feels, discover it felt terrible in your hand, then walk to the counter and pay for it, right? If you found one that you liked, and knew that the store owner would dicker on the price, you wouldn't pay the price on the sticker, would you? Its possible my analogy is wrong.

Here is my report: late last night almost 00:30 visit EDSA Complex, check out the surrounding, girls looks much more than male customers. Hi guys I would appreciate some help on bus transportation during holy week. My flight arrives Manila at 1 am Thursday Mar 29. And I have a flight from Clark to Cebu on Friday Mar 30 1 am. So 24 hrs is definitely adequate to ride a bus from Manila to Clark on normal days but I m not too sure about Holy week. Can anyone advise? Thanks in advance.

I don't unless why you would fly from Clark to Cebu the next day when there are flights from Manila to Cebu?

I heard of very crowded bus terminal during these holy week period as hoards of locals returning home from cities.
