I see people saying Sosua is getting expensive and I don't know what they are talking about. I was just there a bit over a month ago and the price for ST was what it has always been in the 6 years I have been going there-1500p. A few might try to hold out for more but more often they take less.
As for transportation I come out of Chicago and that hasn't changed either in 6 years. It has always been expensive-about 6 for a R / T with no overnight layover. I started going to CR at about the same time and packages there used to be about 3, but now that's up to 6 too. I have looked at other cities in the N / E quadrant of the US and they are all about the same thing. The thing is you have to book early. I just saw a trip to POP that I like in 3 months in the upper 5's. But that is unusual. Usually you have to book 5 to 6 months in advance to get that. But rates do fluctuate. I find the same to be true in other cities in the area I refer to.

I need to share my story because it is a story of even though you know these girls are generally up to no good you can still fall in that trap of marriage (almost) and other expensive mistakes.
First thanks to several ISG members (you know who you are) who guided me through some of the tougher times with the girl I am going to talk about.
The girl I met in Sosua claimed she has only been there a month. She was 27, had two girls, very skinny. She seemed truly genuine. Had the kids by a guy in the states who took off and left her to her own devices. She asked me to help her get back to Santo Domingo and to help her pay her 3 month back rent so she could get back in her house. Her two daughters were living with her mom. The week or so were were together in Sosua she was quite kind.
My first $700 dollar mistake. I gave her $200 for taxi ride from Sosua to Santo Domingo and $500 to pay her back rent on the house she was renting. I, in my mind, was trying to help the girl. She seemed genuinly happy to be back in her home.
That was the last time this girl was nice to me.
After that she wanted $1000 for a used refrigerator, $600 for a new gas stove, $1000 to fix her dilapidated car and to pay her monthly expenses which were about $800 a month (rent, water electric, furniture payments etc).
I foolishly did it all (except the car). When I went to see her (I was going to see her bi weekly) the double door fridge she bought was used! I was so pissed. On top of that I would go to Wal-Mart and bring $200 dollars worth of stuff-pampers for her kid, soap, presents for her etc. Thats on top of all of her bills I was paying plus my airfare and rental car.
You would think this girl would treat me like a king. No way. She was loud, ghetto, aggressive and ungrateful. And my trips to Western Union never stopped. The second straw was her pressure to buy her a new car, new breasts and to marry her. I actually damn near got a 15k loan to buy her a car. But then out of the blue something hit me. The words "hell no". I broke off all contact though she still daily tries to talk with me.
What is the moral of this story? The girls you meet in Sosua are not the girls who you think they will be back in the USA or as wives or even as decent girlfriends. They will constantly push the envelope to get more and more money and will sleep with another guy at the drop of a hat. Why? Because at the end of the day she is a prostitute.
Do not marry these girls. Do not send them money. Do not take care of their kids. Do not go to their houses or pueblos. And do not trust them.

I don't care if guys say 1, 500 or 3, 000 is what they pay. I know what my price is and I'm sober when I go about my business. There are always options, including girls that don't frequent PC, the beach, charamicos, etc.
