Certainly if paid they would come but their reaction would range from silent terror to constant complaining. In Thai culture women don't go to sea, not even in fisherman villages or romantic movies. Australians, American, North European women would be a probably a better candidates.

Question is, would be worth it? Come here, find a candidate then judge yourself. I think if you are so willing to take the role of paying sponsor there are better ways than paying for student visa, travel, tuition, insurance, boarding, meals, dresses, gifts, and "send to my mama" money. All that to get laid few times a week in home country ?

And if you are speaking of a hooker, then most of those have not gone past 6th grade so I would say your chances are even less than zero there.

I concur. Yesterday, I asked my companion if she would like to join me on a short two hour sea kayaking journey down a very calm and placid river. There was not even a remote chance she would go. Emphatically, she said not interested. I actually felt relieved.

On a separate note, I told her that I was going to a second hand bookstore and she became upset. 'Why do you want to buy a book when you could be with me' was her response in barely intelligible English. It was about a five minute walk to this store but she wanted to take a tuk tuk. I said no let's walk, but she refused and returned to our hotel room and slept, or sulked, for the rest of the day and evening.

She had been complaining about putting on 7 kilos and I guess she thought it would magically disappear by praying to Buddha or drinking more Singha.

In the morning, she silently slipped out of the room while I was gone and returned to Bangkok on her own.

Hit Soi 6 this evening, things are slightly different, depending on the venue. Most places I visited were no longer offering on premise ST, take out only. BJ bar Red Point being one of them. Found out they were recently raided. Didn't see any of the popular ladies there, must have been taken out ST. A few of the other BJ bars, (to remain nameless, to protect the less than innocent,) were still on premise activities. One wouldn't allow you to take your cell phone with you. To me, it appeared there were less ladies in the bars, taken out ST I hope. Also M-Club remains closed.

First, there is no way you're going to get one of these bar girls a visa to the US, letter of sponsorship notwithstanding. Now if she was a young muslim male with a predilection for jihad, that would be different. One exception would be to bring her to Mexico, then have her walk across the border and claim asylum. Then she'll be home free. If you can teach her Spanish in the meantime, that'll be a huge plus.

Second, you may no realize it yet, but bar girls tend to be dog-ass lazy. Studying English isn't exactly a walk in the park, especially for somebody with (barely) a 6th grade education.

Third, why you would want to put up with the special brand of hell that would ensue, should you be successful is this endeavor, is beyond me.

If you really want to do this, cultivate an actual relationship with a Uni student from a good family, a middle-class lady with a decent job, etc. The odds of getting a student visa, or some such, are much better when you start with better raw material.

It is indeed possible. A friend once sponsored a Sukhumwit freelancer who stayed in the USA On a student F1 visa before, to study English, and I helped out with paperwork. It takes more than just a letter from you, though, you'll need to pay the tuition (which is not inconsiderable, maybe $3-6 k or so) for at least one semester / quarter, in order for them to obtain an I-20 form from the school, which is required to apply. You'll probably need to guide her through the process as well. Their student status will be valid only as long as they study (plus one month), and there are strict requirements for the school to notify the government if they drop out.

Issuing the visa is still subject to an interview where she has to prove she's a genuine student and will return, so it only works if the story is semi plausible. For example, a 23-year old with some college and maybe some work history other than the bar, good; 35 year-old obvious bargirl with only 6 years of elementary school, not so likely. Even in a solid case, with good preparation, I think chances are 50:50.

Good luck finding that 23 year bargirl willing to go these days. However, you might have some luck pitching this offer to with girls on dating sites. It's not an uninteresting proposition for many, but you'll need to see if they'll deliver what you expect.

Sure, it's not what it used to be, but I don't know of any place in the world that isn't changing. For me, Bangkok is just another big urban jungle, while Pattaya is a relaxed beach town.

Pattaya's combination of smiling friendly people, low prices, beach culture, climate, weather, attractions, delicious food, and thousands of available ladies at affordable prices make it a very attractive destination for me. No. It's not perfect. But I haven't found a better place on the planet yet. And even though it's a grueling 8,500 mile, 3 leg, 30 hour journey for me, I still do it at least twice a year.

I hope this helps you make your decision.

You presence here on this forum makes me think you are not (only) interested in her English language skills but are planning to have some more playful benefits out of her stay.

That will only work if indeed you find someone who can be your GF for a more or less longish time. It is rather unlikely to find someone during a short stay in Thailand unless you lay the groundwork and hang out on (Thai) dating sites to find someone who is reasonably compatible with you. And most girls you can find through this web-site are not in the category of *real* girlfriends, unless you pln to hire a P4 P girl for the whole time but that could become quite expensive.
