i agree with you and tempoecorto and would venture to argue that the quality of our encounter is mitigated, more so than in most human service transactions, by the attitude, emotion, and mood created by both parties for mutual satisfaction of need. my view is that, within reasonable limits, the infusion of more cash actually improves the quality of the interaction between puta and client and further, at a macro level, serves to bring in the marginal higher quality providers into the marketplace. imho tamping down prices has only resulted in the proliferation of lower quality, hardcore, scheming / scamming, drugged out, short-term seeking, putas that will try to extract every last cent from an interaction 'cause they don't have any interest in seeking your repeat business. my practice has been to reward the desirable behavior and hope that the positive traits that i seek like (a pretense of!) affection and having the girl seek out what turns you on so that she can garner your repeat business will proliferate.
also, having managed to escape the poverty trap in a third world country, i may have a bit more insight into lives where survival is a constant struggle, and have always tried to find ways, in my miniscule way, to help those that are willing to work to help themselves. i find it strange that i will shell out $ 250 to a strung out, zombie with a bad attitude on backpage for 40 mins of "have ya come yet?" and pay multiple $ 50 tabs for blue ball inducing lap dances that only leads to frustration, but will moan about the $ 12. 00 extra that a sosua puta asks for. my opinion is that the sosua puta is more likely to use the money for an essential ([CodeWord132], milk, food, etc) more so than the backpage sp. i also fail to see the logic in taking a hungry sp to bed and wondering why the interaction sucked whereas a simple $ 5 meal shared with her would have done wonders to build rapport.
prior to my recent 3 week trip, i had found myself echoing the sentiments of charles pooter, mr. gogo and many of the thread's stalwarts that sosua was no longer worth visiting and had resolved that this would be my last trip there. i am happy to report that a couple of girls i met on this trip just blew that thinking out of the water. i ended up having a blast.
cheers,
shockman
but look, most of the chicas working as putas can't get other jobs, because they don't have the necessary educational level or even the dominican equivalent of high school graduation, so they can't handle money for a business, nor do they have the written, numeracy, and language skills necessary for a job in a place like the orange shop...
Hey Deep
Nice to see you're still the "big man" I know and love, me brodder!
Just checking to see if you're still on ground zero and would be very interested in whether you're still sticking to your public statement that this would be your last Sosua trip. I had made the same vow before my recent 3-week trip but have since completely reversed course after meeting chicas who were absolute sweethearts and recaptured my youth for just a fleeting while.
You got to be slowing down if you want to go the "tame" Passions route. Quite a bit removed from the mayhem I witnessed from the legendary hard-charging partying you and Tomjackin indulged in at Latinas's, huh!
If you're interested, please PM me for info on my Passions sweethearts. I know that you will "treat" them in the manner that I did. Also buddy, let's make sure we coordinate our future trips so we can recreate the magic of old, peace and love.
I don't know "shit" about, you so who am I to questions your "monger events" so I'm pushing "control- alt- delete" and rebooting myself" I'm spitting out that "hater-aide" that deep down quenching hate" so I ain't hatin I'm congratulating" peace and bring your album when you get to Oregon. One Love.
That is the key point. While it is certainly true that Sosua is not the place to look for a young man to look for a nice young girl to take to the US, marry, raise kids, and live happily ever after in a house with a white picket fence, that doesn't mean that mongers and putas can't have encounters that are affectionate, fun, and mutually satisfying. I don't think there is anything wrong with paying 1000 pesos or so for an encounter if that meets the needs of both parties, and I have often done so, especially on repeat encounters with partners I have previously enjoyed sex with, but I don't think people should get too obsessed with price.
Better to regard the negotiation as part of the flirtation process in which both protagonists display attraction to each other and go back and forth to determine exactly how much attraction there is and how much that is worth to each, because at the end of the day you want a sexual experience that is memorable which is unlikely if both partners are not really into each other. From the girl's point of view, the quality of the sexual interaction is not the key issue, but if it is good, then it makes her job a lot easier.
Also, having managed to escape the poverty trap in a third world country, I may have a bit more insight into lives where survival is a constant struggle.
Shockman
Well, I am from a third world country too and so yes, I agree. Nevertheless, fundamentally, this business of sleeping with a woman, even when it has money as the transactional base, can be an ENJOYABLE experience. Money is one currency but to make it really worthwhile, respect and empathy goes a long way, unless of course people get off by abusing the other but that is whole different ballgame.
When I use the term "puta" I mean it to be the equivalent of prostitute. No reason to try and read more into it.
Apologies! My statement was not expressly targeted at you. I happen to have lived with putain, puttana and puta (madre) for a long time knowing that these are almost common parlance. So, I was using the P word more in a figurative sense. Funny thing, on this site, I once tried to write "bit." and the system would not allow me. No wonder others used "beatch", that got me, not unlike Frannie, confused about batch a while ago. LOL.
The quality of service is not directly related to price. Generally chicas don't respect guys for being real easy with money. It's sorta a prey signal that switches on their predatory instincts. Being kind or generous with a chica who deserves it is not the same as being seen as foolish with money.
This goes right over a lot of mongers' heads.
This goes right over a lot of mongers' heads.
Because it's simplistic and pretty much a poor generalization. Women respect the man and how he handles himself.

All about having fun
Even with a Sosua puta you can have a connection. Pick girls who you like and if they give you good service repeat. The quality of your sessions will improve. Each girl has a different story. I know that most girls have kids that they are taking care of. They are not happy in most cases sucking strange dicks. However when a job pays 200 a month and your expences are 400 a month what can you do.
Because it's simplistic and pretty much a poor generalization. Women respect the man and how he handles himself.
I don't have any issue with people who prefer to pay a premium to save time and effort. I agree that it's simplistic but I think you'd agree that one aspect of "how a man handles himself" that has some relevance is whether he seems to know the value of his money or is readily taken advantage of.
There are often reports here where a member seems to have felt they were buying respect or building up credit toward future good service with every indulgence of a chica's whim (paying $200 US for her for a taxi from the north coast to SD when a $10 bus ticket would have been more upscale than normal).
I'm definitely not saying that being cheap is in itself a path to respect, just that appearing easy to manipulate or exploit for money is NOT part of how a man worthy of respect handles himself.
At the risk of sounding politically incorrect as well as simplistic I'd also say that part of the image is not letting the chica push them around or always get her way in general (not just with money). Dominican guys act a bit more macho and bossy with females in part because it works. Dominican / Haitian chicas tend to react well to being treated with a firm hand. Being called Papi is an almost universal term of endearment and it fits with this expectation. Yes Daddy takes care of them but he also spanks them if they get out of line.

In my experience sex only starts to get good after you have something of a relationship. Trying new chicas for me is just a cost of finding one worth repeating and getting to know. Most chicas I have found worth it have had real jobs that they put real effort into keeping. They had to get up early and be off to work, even though the total salary was normally less than $200 a month (5 days a week and a half day Saturday AND sucking the boss's dick just for the privilidge of keeping the job).
Dominican guys act a bit more macho and bossy with females in part because it works. Dominican / Haitian chicas tend to react well to being treated with a firm hand.
Somewhat in their defense, Dominican guys are used to being surrounded by sweet pussy and its part of the culture. I don't expect some sex tourists that are suddenly immersed into that kind of environment, especially after having just left the sex prison of the USA, to not be a little discombobulated with their faculties and vulnerable. At the end of the day, they can calibrate it to what they would have spent in the USA or the value in dollars to rationalize the behavior.

Yup, as in all of life the trick seems to be to find the harmonious sweet spot on a continuum that ranges from getting exploited by the puta and taking unreasonable advantage of their dire economic conditions. I'm surprised at how easily I fall prey to the script that I play in my mind of being the knight in shining armor that sweeps the damsel in distress off her feet when all she sees is an ATM. We, the mongers, however, do hold all the cards, since we are the ones with the gold that can make the rules, and with that power comes the responsibility to wield it in the most effective, constructive way possible in the interest of sustaining Sosua in the long-term. Peace.

While on the subject, I have this nagging question. Which state or city in the US, we would rather live that is most conducive to this hobby. If there is one such place. Just in case anyone is wondering, I am from New England and there goes my answer but I would like people ideally from all 48 states, to chip in and share their thoughts.
