intel
You can do all the intel you want but you must get the guts to go over. You will find that all the lessions you will learn will cost you some money. I have ben home for 2 months after staying 6 months in the P. I. I had never stayed in another country. Everything I learned was from personal experance, not all good advice from others. Remember what works for one guy will be a problem for another. There are many reasons that guys from around the globe go to the P. I. Girls must be first reason. The other is the great difference in exchange rates.
The overall beauty of the country will not be seen in Manila from a hotel window. The only way to see the nicer things here is to get away from the city lights. You take a cab or a bus, this is cheep, and easy. The taxi drivers smell blood in the water when they see a foreign person on the street. The only thing I would say is never forget to tell the driver to use the meter!
The bus deal is cheep also, less than ten U. S. Dollars will get you so far away from Manila that you think you are in another country. The victory liner service is as good as any big bus service in the U. S. The great thing here is you will not have to worry about trouble because they will not stop in bad areas. The average first timer is not gonna travel much but it is safe to use public trans. You will never get to see things if you stay around the city, and you can get and have a tour guide with you from any gal you ask. Even the hardest bar gal knows that she is better off showing a first time guy around the country than she is getting groped by several guys a night in the bar.
Ask and you will be surprised, at how many gals will want to line up and be your personal guide. After all you can never go wrong with a person looking after you every need. The cost is up to you, you can get meals outside minils for 2-4 dollars each. Guys do not know that Burgos st. Is every bit as expensive as the general areas in the states. Food is the same hotels the same price, and gals are high priced here also.
Travel outside manila go to subic, or other foreigner friendly places, the girls are everywhere waiting with bated breath.

Great post
Okay, just got back from 2 weeks in Manila. I will do my best to keep this short and sweet. This was my first time out of the U.S., but I'm only 23 so I don't think i've procrastinated TOO long with my traveling. One word of advice to anyone who, like me, is an inexperienced traveler, if at all possible go with a friend. I went with an office mate who I've known for a few years and that made things 10 times easier. I had no idea what I was getting into, really. His family treated me like one of their own, if not better. I have to say that most filipinos seem to be extremely generous and caring people, unless you're in a bar where everyone seems to have their hands out as soon as they spot the white man.
I hope you don't mind my random observations. Again this was only a 2 week trip so its not like I'm an expert, these are just the impressions I was given.
Like I said I went with a friend who is still there visiting family. It amazes me how close filipinos are to their family, mostly I think because I come from a broken home and family doesn't really mean much of anything to me. As a result, though, I didn't really get to do much mongering. First event was at a club in Malate called 'Absynthe'. I don't know what you call this kind of club, there are girls that dance on stage, and if you want to buy them a 300 peso drink they will sit with you and you can talk to them. I chose a girl who was maybe a 7 or an 8, definatly the prettiest girl there and the only one I saw that didn't look like she was under 18. She later confirmed for me that most of the girls dancing there were around 16 or 17. Sat with her for a while, played it cool, I wasn't sure if she was pro or not, or how things work at a bar like this, but she started holding my hand, leaning against me, all of that sort of thing. My friends got the impression that she liked me, but I wasnt sure if she was a pro or not, like I said, so I figured it was all part of the sell. Got her number before we left, she was a very intelligent girl and we got along. Ended up having a rendezvous later. Only spent that 300 pesos on her total. Was going to take her with me to boracay but she said she had to work, which my associates informed me meant she wanted me to pay her to go with on top of giving her a free vacation. Didn't speak to her after that.
Other than that, I also checked out Amazonia and LA Cafe of course. LA Cafe is worth seeing just for the phenomenon that it is. You won't be in there longer than 5 minutes before girls start clinging to you. I've never been so blatantly groped in a private place by a near stranger before. It was fun. I have to say that I liked amazonia more though. I don't know if all the girls there are pro or not, but there was way less hustle, and I thought the body painting was cool. I also enjoyed the music more. Its a great place to take a girl you meet at LA cafe, in my opinion. Prices at LA cafe seemed to be around 2000 pesos for all night, though I found out later you can barter down to 1500 without much trouble. Got one down to 1k but either the choice of girl or the low price caused a dramatic reduction in GFE value so I had her leave fairly early.
A word about the GFE in the philippines....the girls from LA Cafe with the exception of that one were 10x better than any girlfriend I've ever had. Also, I found it extremely easy to hook up with girls in clubs. A lot of them seemed to be after one night encounters, which surprised me because I had heard so much about how conservative filipinas are. I guess there's also another side to everything.
That was roughly the extent of my mongering. One of the guys we were spending time with knew the owners of quite a few strip clubs, but I didn't really get into that. I think it came to around 3300 pesos when all was said and done if you wanted to vip one of the girls. They were generally very pretty, but the little time I spent talking to them...they weren't much different from any strippers I've talked to here in america. I've never really enjoyed strippers, so maybe I was a little jaded, but it just wasn't my thing. I think next trip, though, I will give it another shot. I didn't try any MP's either unfortunatly. LA Cafe was just too much fun and too much cheaper. What can I say, I am a frugal guy.
One word about boracay, my biggest mistake was not taking someone there. I figured I could meet someone there, and I did meet quite a few very pretty girls, but it was very different from manila. They were all from provinces I had never heard of, and getting to know them seemed a very formal thing. I felt like I was on trial with their family/friends, and God forbid you try to initiate any physical contact on the first meeting. I didn't have time for all that nonsense. Others may have more luck there, it could be that I was just unlucky. I also wasn't there on a weekend which could also be a contributing factor. Did get hit on by a lot of gay guys though. I thought living in los angeles would make me immune to that but LA's got nothing on what I experienced there. Not that I have a problem with anyone thats gay, I just didn't expect it there.
I can add a lot of commentary on what I thought of the philippines in general if its desired, but I feel like it would be off topic for this forum. If anyone is interested though, let me know, especially if there are any westerners who live there now. I would be interested in their take on the place in general.
I stayed at a hotel called the 'Fersal'. Its in sta. cruz and I never found one taxi driver that had heard of it. Its actually a pretty nice place, has hot water, cable, security, all that stuff. Rooms are clean but a little on the small side. 1,300 per night for the regular rooms with a 10% discount for booking a full week, more of a discount if you book a month. I debating hooking up with the girls at the desk but wasn't sure if it would be a good idea. Could have gotten more of a discount maybe, but then I may not have been so welcome to bring girls up to my room.
Anyway, my first report, hope you enjoy it.
EDITOR'S NOTE: [blue]I certainly hope that the author or somebody else will post a link to this report in the Reports of Distinction thread.[/blue]
I too visited the Phils for the first time when I was 23. That was back in 99. But, I was fucking everything in site. I was a walking hardon. Whenever I visit Manila, the first 24 hours I probably squirt 6-8 times with at least 6 different women. Its like a crackhead getting his smoke on after a dryspell.
I do remember a few years ago when I was a lot greener in Phils, a pimp I was friendly with took me to a "casa" on Del Pilar about a block or so north of LA Cafe, same side though
I wonder if you mean south of LA Cafe, just across from Amazonia. I was in Manila in March staying at the Executive Plaza. There is a tout that sits on a stool in front of the 7-11 right next to the hotel. I came back from the LA Cafe one early evening by myself as the pickings were slim and he told me of this casa a few minutes away. Anyway I went with him along Del Pilar and a few doors before LA Cafe on the same side of the road. You walk in this door and then turn left and then right up a short flight of steps into this large room on your right. There were about 25 girls sitting against a wall and the tout introduces me to this guy who tells me to have a look and take my time. They were from 6 to 8's and were 2,000 pesos for all night.
The girl I took did not really speak much, gave a decent but not great BBBJ but was a tremendous fuck and seemed to really enjoy fucking.

Perhaps you meant to write *north* of LA Cafe (towards Amazonia), since south is the other direction towards Pedro Gil.
From your description, that's very likely the same place, though of course one would expect the asking price to have tripled as has everything else in Malate the last few years. Thanks for posting your update.
Perhaps you meant to write *north* of LA Cafe (towards Amazonia), since south is the other direction towards Pedro Gil.
You are right. I stand corrected.
A lot of fellow mongers think casa's are a waste of time for the extra costs but for not a bit more you can dispense with the bs and hit and miss at the freelance bars. I haven't seen a 9 or 10 at a casa yet but they consistently have 6-8's and their attitudes are great. Whoever you choose WILL go with you unlike the Edsa bars, etc and I have never drawn a blank yet.
I still enjoy and prefer the chase at the bars but when the pickings are slim I know where to go !

Extra cost? I've had more than a few wonderful (girl saying in Tagalog) "no I don't want to stop" repeated gf experiences at one particular casa I know and with beer, room, and GFE I would typically spend less than P1000. for as long as I might reasonablly want "short time". Thereafter get a cell# and spend eveb less "labas susunod" (or more, depending on how much you like your new gf). Of course if you drag out the "relationship" then you reasonably expect her "needs" to become important.
Not of interest to someone who's here for a few hours or a few days or perhaps even only a few weeks, but beyond that casa's are both an assured no-frills quickie and a source of long term gf's, especially if it's out in the open where you can let passer-by non-casa girls hit on you and give your their cell #s. If you're sitting in a casa, girls passing by aren't going to be terribly confused as to your needs.
Depending on one's location, bars are a MUCH more expensive choice, even if you know that you can enjoy some cutie's internals for one-thousand until closing time in very cramped quarters "may daming lamok". There I'm talking about rural bars; if in metro manila your cost "sa quarto" is much higher though you might escape mosquitoes, without even mentioning the foolishness of "bar-fines" in the wrong places. While not the "casa" we've been discussing in this thread, I've found real (as much as you can expect long-term) gf's in more rural casas. I only wish I had time away from "home" to enjoy all the results all the time.
Some of the 'gf's do understand directions to come and see me way out here, since a lot of them *are* from here (outside of metro manila), though of course I always provide a few extra pesos for "transportation" when they come to me just to spend time with me.

A Saturday night out
So last Saturday was to be my last field trip for maybe two months, so I thought I had better make the most of it. I'd been out almost every night for the past three weeks, so I also felt that I didn't have to barfine a girl that night, but I also knew that I wouldn't stop trying until early the next morning.
Got my regular start at about 8:00 at EDSA. Checked out all the bars there until about 10:00. Cotton Club had been very lucky for me as of late, but I have already barfined all of the cute girls there, some multiple times, and I found nothing new tonight. Also, many of the girls are returning to school, so the really hot "need my tuition money" ones are harder to find. Last weekend was really great as it was the last weekend for girls to make their tuition.
Headed over to LA Cafe. Didn't find anying interesting there. There was a small fire there about 11:00, and you should have seen the place empty out in a hurry. Wouldn't want to get stuck there in a big one, so I just headed for the door.
Decided to check out Stingfellows accross the street. This is the old Jurassic. Big improvement! A gogo bar based on the Angeles City Model. Everything is black, with lots of florescent painting on the walls and black lights. The selection was OK, and the barfine was $1,600, which also included 3 ladies drinks. Even had the requisite cherry girl with her sister looking out for her. As I have said before, Ermita is really picking up and now has two gogobars and three freelancer bars, plus all the Jap places if that is your thing. Since the gogo bar taboo has now been broken twice here without issue, and there is a lot of real estate for rent here at dirt cheap prices, can it be long until the place returns to its glory days of the 70's. Should be fun to see what happens in the coming years.
Anyway, still hadn't found anything so decided to head to Burgoss. First bar I walked into was Blush. I know the mamasan and the owner here, and she immediately sends over a girl. WOW! This chick was really hot, and so very nice. I got a boner in about a minute, which was my first one of the night. In fact, I've been with so many girls by now that I rarely make a conscous decision about who I will bang on a given night. I just let my dick decide, and have generally been quite satisfied with his choices.
The nice thing about Blush is that it is the only bar I know of with full size hotel type rooms upstairs. Now its not quite Victoria Court, but the room is big, clean, decent bathroom, and a big bed. The short time price is 1,000P, plus 3,000 for the bar and 2,000 for the girl. It's no bargain, but can be quite convenient.
I asked her how long she had been working there and she said it was her first day back after a month absense. She worked there 3 days previously, but had a problem with a customer and had to leave. "What happend" I asked. She said he gave her some ecstacy and she couldn't eat or sleap properly for a week, and needed a month before feeling comfortable about returning to work. Now, I've taken X with many bar girls without ever having a problem, so I figured that she must have had some bad stuff. "Did you take whole one" I asked (I usually give a girl a quarter if she is a newbe, maybe a third or a half if she has done it before). She asked me what I meant. I explained that she should have taken a lot less then a whole pill. She then says "but I took three". HOLY SHIT. What kind of moron gives a bargirl 3 pills? What posible reason could there be. You are going to get laid anyway, so why would you want to freak someoue out like that. What if she goes crazy and the police come. There is no way of getting out of a trip to jail if they figure out you gave a girl an OD of drugs.
Anyway, I take her upstairs for a session. Maybe the best girl I had in this three week excursion. Isn't it funny how you always find the best one on your last day.

With the way the law is here why would you, or anyone be in the drug scene over there??? The punishment for drugs in the P.I. is death!Or big money to get off the hook. Not my business, to each his own, but that's not a smart proposition here or anywhere else for that matter getting yourself a set of crosshairs right between the eyes.
There are drugs all over the place there but who wants that problem to pop up when you already know its a big time crime in this country? Like I said do what you want but that's not using your brain that's inviting trouble on a grand scale. If caught YOU are the atm that's gonna get tapped not the gal with you.And do you think You might or could be the token foreigner that's used as the new poster child for a zero tolerance drug law.
I am not judging anyone, only saying that if that's what you like do,do it at home and not here in the P.I. You are the example always, and you have or can get the money to pay for your play in the eyes looking at you there.
Use your big head,Think First.

Mongering in a Pack
I had the pleasure last week of meeting up with Guinness and Senator Dashing Don. The Don is a veteran monger who has met many members on this board and I would recommend his company to anybody who visits S.E. Asia or South America. He knows how to work the ladies.
As an example, at one establishment he told the Mamasan to bring him a “new” girl. Within seconds she brought him a doe eyed young pretty lady. The Mamasan said the only problem was that she spoke no English and did not know how to use an elevator. The Don looked at Guinness and me with a confident smile as he knew he was in love for the night. I’m sure he taught her a few other things that evening besides how to use an elevator… more news when I get over my jet lag.

You asked and answered your own rhetorical question - only a moronic loser would give someone drugs. Feed them real food and lots of beer instead and know when to take them out of the bar.
I met a previous acquaintance a while ago, she told me her friend had given her some "ectsasy" and she was sorely regretting having trusted her (female) friend. She asked me to just get her out of there to some place she could be with me and then sleep safely. I did, she did (very well given her condition, I'd rather have had her straight), and I tucked her in and left. I hope she's ok, haven't seen her since though I've not been back to LA since then. I worried the next few days "what if she OD's on that shit some fool gave her". Few months later no one has come to get me for some shit her "friend" pulled on her so I guess and hope she's fine after sleeping it off. Still in retrospect drugs, no matter who provides them are a VERY BAD SCENE in Philippines. Run away fast, as I will next time I have any inkling of such. I should have that time, just to be safe. It's just not worth a free great lay. You don't even want to be in the same place.
-
I have to completely disagree with your statement that if you do drugs, do it at home. First, the Philippines is my home. Second, the Philippines is one of the only countries in the world that you can buy your way out of any drug (or other legal problem for that matter) with money. Try bribing a prosecutor in the US! The incarceration rate in the Philippines is 3 per thousand. The incarceration rate in the US is 85 per thousand. And a very high percentage of those 85 are in for drug crimes, many for merely using drugs. How many foreigners are in Philippine jails for drug related charges? Except for some big time Asian traffickers, probably very, very few, if any. Yes, in the event you were caught you would have to pay a bribe, but the bribe would still be a lot less than hiring an attorney in the US, and at least the bribe gets you out of trouble. No guarantee with an attorney. I have lived in the Philippines for a while and have many expat friends that have lived here over 30 years. Every one to them will tell you that they are far more afraid of law enforcement in the west then here in the Philippines. I think a lot of people throw the Philippines in with Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia etc when considering the police and jucicial system. The Philippines is unique however. It is ABSOLUTELY corrupt from from the police to the judges. You could reasonably argue that you should stay away from drugs to avoid trouble, but if you do chose to use drugs, I can think of no safer country (excpet maybe Holland) to use them. One of the reasons that I choose to live in the Philippines is that I can pretty much do anything that I want.
And anyway, lets say that I agree with you that there is a huge risk with doing drugs here. Have you ever had a whole night of ecstacy induced sex with a bargirl? If I was going to take a big risk over something, I can think of nothing that was more worth the risk.

hmm, my buddy was caught with drugs at a local airport. bribed his way out, no problem. we all got together one night with his attorney. we talked about the various cases he worked on, many with foreigners. he has 100% success rate with his cases. many were drug cases. never lost a criminal case. even with the couple that went to trial, you just have to bribe the arresting officer. i really don't want to get into a debate on this (like the never ending condom/no condom thing), except to say that you are getting your information from some dubious sources.

Drugggggggggs
I guess the point is missed here, why do it?When I said do it at home, I was saying if I am that stupid to do it at all I would rather spend my time in a cell stateside than in a foreign prison any day.Personal experence with drug use should not be talked about here,do what you want but why tell the world you do that shit????
Think more,play safe.

Senator Don
"I’m sure he taught her a few other things that evening besides how to use an elevator…"
The Senator does have that elevator thing under control, although on one of our trips to Buenos Aires he did get stuck on an escalator for 3 hours during a blackout.
Looking forward to a full trip report from the Senator when he gets back.
