As to Orchard Hotel, I've not stayed there, but my business partner went during the soft opening and said that it looked like good value for money. There are no elevators, and I doubt there's much of a dining room, but evidently it's clean and decent, which for less than Php1, 000 is about all you can hope for.

The new Ayala Hotel next to Abreeza Mall-I think the name is Seda-is now open, but I understand it's about the same price as the Marco Polo.

I work long hours now here in the Western USA. Not much time to get to the ISG Forum. Finally DID read some of the many PMs I had received. Two (2) came from a Man who reiterated FALSE, SLANDEROUS COMMENTS by Red Kilt. Now a guy dancing about in a skirt is NOT my idea of a Man. My guess, among other things, he really does not like the fact that I am Irish!

He "advised" another Member of ISG to NOT post any comments on this Forum! Claims that I cannot monger anymore due to my having a bad hip. Red Kilt got his MD and Orthopedic Residency in some Tavern in his home town as he danced about in his red kilt. What I DO have today is children! I have five (5) children living in Davao, Leyte, Cebu and a few hours from Manila. Colin, at 19 months, is the youngest, followed by Devinia, age 2years, 8 months, Conor in davao who will be four shortly and my two eldest in Leyte.

I posted nine months ago that in my future Trips to the Philippines I would be spending much of my time with the children. I think anyonhje here with children can understand this. I have seen this hotel mentioned and recommended for newbies. I would like to add some info to give you a better understanding.

The hotel is located in Guadalupe Village, a gated community (guards at entrance and a perimeter fence). It is in the north part of Davao so transportation from the airport is reasonable. The hotel itself is clean, the food is reasonably priced, the rooms are a bit spartan. Most guests you meet at the restaurant are either long term residents or returning customers.

You can take a trike from the hotel to JP Laurel. (The main thoroughfare in this part of town) For 6php ($.15). Once you get to JP Laurel most of the time you will turn right toward town? You can hop on a jeepney and ride to Damosa or SM Lanang for about 8 php ($.20) , or you can always hail a cab. Which costs about 60 php to SM Mall. ($1. 50).

There is not much nightlife (hookers). In this Part of town. I have never seen any at the Redknight unless she was with a guest. As Far as SM Lanang Mall goes, same thing, no p4p action here. Many pretty and friendly sales clerks. Damosa Gateway is nice, maybe you might get lucky. I think my bottom line for a newbie is as follows. If you have a girl, stay here. If you like an honest and friendly staff stay here. If you are not the type who can spend a couple of dollars on a taxi to find some action being either cheap or afraid, this is not the place for you.

If you like to walk from where the trike drops you, go right to the Goodyear Store. And walk back where you will find venus night club and Salambat gay bar (search Salambat on FB. And you can check out some of the girls.). Note the walk back is dark, but safe.

Further up JP laurel is the intersection with Cabaguio. This is the street where Roman Plaza is located.

The first drink cost 100 php ($2. 50) , thereafter 70php. ($1. 75) , they have a VIP room 3 hours. 1,500 php with.

4 free drinks. Ladies drinks are 300 php ($7. 50). The dancers are decent looking and all under 22. My problem with the place is they need more customers.

As you know if you follow this thread, this is the street walker part of town. I have two problems here. 1. It is the darkest street in downtown, take a flashlight. 2. Most English fluency is limited to "no" or "blow job" etc,"yes" fluency is very common on the street but not always in the room.

Damosa has some decent places to dine for both lunch and evening. At lunch. Be there by 11:30AM and take a tablee outside. Talk to the ladies walking by from the Call Center, Bank and Offices. At night you get regular women hanging out after work. There are a couple areas along JP Laurel at night where the women in the area congregate. Meeting them is easy. Be friendly and approach them. Not much chance they will approach you. Offer them drinks, snacks, food. Smile and get talking with them. Get cellphone numbers and Names for all the ones you like and be certain they all have your cellphone. This IS important! I once met 2 cute 20 and 21 year olds sitting at a tablee. Invoted them both to lunch at Swiss Dlle across from Damosa, the floowing day. Neither one was interested in me. The 20 year old said she wanted a guy her own age. I visited Roman Plaza only once. I did not like the Place so I did not return. Again, some of you might enjoy it. As to Red Knight Garden (RKG) , it is strictly BYOG (bring your own girl). If you can afford the MP, get friendly with the Hotel Concierge (desk near the entrance). He can set you uyp with some beautiful pros. Tip him and the bellboys, but not too much (P100-200) as the girl gives them a "piece of her payment" also. As mentioned, I shared a midnight elevator ride down with a beautiful filipina of about 23-25, leaving a lone after fucking a guest on the top floor of the Continental Club. This way you do not have to leave the Hotel to get laid. Also, it is only a P45 taxi ride to the Peoples Park on J Camus Street. Open until 11:00PM you can find young women sitting on benches here. Some are pros and others are just alone. Both can be had for the fucking.

To add a little more detail to DS' post citing "decent eating places" in Damosa, and without stipulating a definition of decent, I thought I might try to add some detail. If you're looking to pick up call center ladies, or those working in offices around the area, then you're probably going to have to pick one of the food court-type places inside the large, un-airconditioned main building. You could actually have lunch or dinner there for a couple of dollars and the food is not terrible. There's no atmosphere at all, and it's hot, but there are lots and lots of younger women who eat there. There's also a (very slightly) more upscale Dim Sum Diner next door where the food is cheap, edible, and where there are typically lots of women eating lunch. Then there are additional inexpensive places to the left as you walk out the door, all with tables for outdoor eating.

If you fix your gaze across the large parking lot, there's a row of air conditioned places including a Firenzo Coffee House (that also attracts lots of people) , where the coffee is fairly good, and which also serves fairly typical coffee house food. Next door to that is an Italian restaurant named Spirale, which arguable serves the best pizzas in town and which has reasonably decent other food, inexpensive wine and an attractive interior. You can also eat outside. Next to Spirale is a Japanese place that is also not bad at all, but neither the Japanese place nor Spirale attract single women for the most part.

Damosa is located at the intersection of Lanang and Anglioto Roads, and just across Anlgioto, which is a narrow street, there's another row of restaurants including a Pancake House and Pizzeria and a Spanish Restaurant called Hola España. The Spanish place is owned by the Huillier family of Cebu and while the food isn't much, the family is apparently seriously into expensive wines, and the place has a wine cellar that is truly excellent with some seriously expensive wines. There are a couple of other restaurants on this row as well, but I don't remember the names. None of them however, appear to be magnets for the young, single women as they're likely considered too expensive.

Directly across Lanang is the Swiss Deli, which, in my opinion, has the best "charcuterie" in town, with lots of sausages and meats prepared on the premises, and a wide variety of freshly-baked breads, also made on the premises. It also sells US Angus steaks. This is an extremely popular place for lunch and for dinner, and boasts an excellent wine cellar as well, but again, it's not a place to go looking for women.

For those who may have glanced at my post on the other Davao board about the Blue Nile KTV, all of these places are about 30 seconds away by taxi.

My office has been in the Damosa area for the past five years, and I've witnessed the rapid growth of this area of the city. There are new places opening frequently, so it's difficult to be completely current, but during my lunch at Spirale today, the places listed are what I noticed.
