That way you got beach access too where you live.

I personally find it depressing living in centro / lapa etc compared to Copa, Apoador, Ipa especially when a metro ride is 15 minutes.

I also suspect that you tend to get more mechanical girls in these places.

Sperto has visited every state in Brazil and has taken the time to report and answer questions about those locations. When he asked a question on the open forum, I responded to him privately with a very detailed answer. That is the kind of respect he should and does command here. If the whiners went away, trust me, no one would miss you. When Sperto hangs it up, they will erect a monument to him in Centro.

Hotels are girl friendly. The standard advice is correct. Book a room for double occupancy. That said, I never have had a hotel, even the highest priced ones, not be guest friendly. It often depends on the guest and the girl you are with. Unfortunately, most people could use some lessons in how to treat hotel staff.

Have stayed at love motels all over Rio and beyond. Never had any issues. When Help was open I was a regular at Vanity. One time I met a girl at 7:30 AM on the beach and took her there without any money. I told both her and the manager I would be back at noon to settle up and neither batted an eye. This site can save you a few bucks as well as locate some options.

The question often comes up about Airbnb. I have rented apartments in Rio for family and friends without any issues. Keep in mind that hosts review guests and vice versa. Give your host a bad review and you get one too. So, the reviews tend to be overstated. What I look for is glowing reviews. John was extremely helpful and a great host. The apartment was better than expected. Not, John was a nice guy and the apartment was as described. I have rented on the Airbnb site literally around the world and never have had even a mediocre experience.

A clip joint is a place where they take your money and you get virtually nothing in return for it except for some overpriced drinks and maybe a few cheap feels. A place may be too expensive for somebody's budget, but that doesn't automatically make it a "clip joint" characterized by fraudulent activity meant to take somebody's money while offering little or nothing of value in return. That's what a clip joint does. We may have our own likes and dislikes (and budgets) for the way we prefer to monger, but we shouldn't let those preferences prevent us from offering objective evaluations of the mongering scene, wherever it may be. To refer to Tier 1 termas as "clip joints" is to promote a lie, which is a disservice to all seeking useful and valid information on the board. You may not like them. Centaurus is OK if you don't mind price just tell yourself how much would I pay in the us if you are from there. Which service could I have? How hard is it to find a decent prostitute? You are in Brazil to enjoy as much as possible and save your time before going back home for work.

But, you haven't told the full story, which is that you don't have to pay for a girl upfront upon entrance if you don't want to! I did that the very first time I went to Centaurus years ago because I didn't know any better. But after that, never again! All you have to do is say that you just want to pay the entrance fee because you don't know if you want to take a girl or not, and they will waive the payment for 40 minutes upfront. Like I said, I paid that one time and never again. Now that's the full story, and that's doing the most by the readership here because it doesn't leave something important out about that annoying practice at Centaurus and how to effectively deal with it. You don't need them to give you your money back. Just don't give it to them in the first place!

Other things about the place that I don't like are that they haven't invested in the facilities, and several years ago it was already looking run down. Tattered robes. Dingy rooms that have seen better days. And yes, the damn price for an hour has gotten to be too high! Typical Brazilian business thinking. When times are bad, raise prices versus lower them or offering other cost-saving incentives to get people to patronize the business. At least the last time I was there, they had stopped the annoying practice of assigning a girl to "help" you change. And then you need to work to dump the girl afterwards because she hits you up for a session, but you have zero interest in her! But still, in no way do I believe it's fair to refer to the place as a clip joint. If Centaurus was a clip joint, then I would never have given them my business over the years.
