Yes, landing at PC is a good option compared to SD
Ok, I have 1 question!
Does anyone have any insight on how to get most efficiently (I. E. Inexpensively) from Punta Cana to SD? Flights are super cheap, and direct, from my US starting destination so there is significant benefit in flying there on the outbound flight. But I'm getting taxi quotes of over $100 USD. But somehow its only $30 or $40 from Sosua to SD? What gives?
From Europe too, direct flights are much cheaper to PC than SD (maybe 300 euros less). That's why I always land at PC, and rent a car. I know renting a car became expansive now but if you have the money, it's the best option to travel around the island (PC. La Romana. Boca Chica. SD - Santiago. Sosua, end then back. Roads are very good. As said before there is also the bus Express Bavaro which is the fastest to go to SD, as it has only one stop at La Romana Casa de Campo, ASAIR. These buses are very modern and clean. Be careful on the highway! They are desert and straight, so don't drive like a rocket as they are some mobile radar controls. I had one at 140 km / h, but as I lived many years in Africa, I was able to handle the situation smoothly.
I've been to PC 2 months ago, and I can tell you there are plenty of things to do, and a lot of chicas available for not so expansive as people say. Things have changed since few years. Very nice girls can be had for 2500-3000 for a hassle-free very good moment. Go to Corner's bar, or better: Drink Point around 11 pm, especially from Thursday to Saturday. If you are rich, you could book your first night at Tortuga Bay, one of the most exquisite hotel I know on this planet, belonging to the same group than the PC international airport. A hostess will wait for you right at the foot of the airplane, on the tarmac, and will escort you in a golf cart through the police and luggage with a VIP express treatment: in no more than 15 min, you'll be in the hotel mercedes shuttle. There is no chica in this hotel, unless you booked for one in advance. Alas, I used to go there when prices were still decent (few hundreds / night) but now it's about 1 grand / night. If you go to PC, read my recent posts on PC, and go spend the day with your sweetie at Playa Blanca, still in the same area than Tortuga Bay. There is no such atmosphere, white sand and turquoise water beach in the North. PC deserves the first few days (to rest after landing and warm up) and the last few days (with your princess), IMHO.
Cheers!
First time to the are, have questions, would love some pointers
Greetings ya'll,
First time to Dominican Republic next week. I'm posting this same thing in a few cities I plan to visit in hopes to get some advice, questions answered, etc. , some in general others about the city, so excuse if seems redundant across forums.
Background info: I'm from the USA, white guy (if that matters), I fly into Santiago, and will go to Santo Domingo also. I plan to visit one other place, maybe two. Whatever I can do with 2.5 weeks. Don't plan to rent a car (heard they have special tags that police target for bribes, and really, don't' want to worry, be responsible for, or think about a car) but take uber instead, they seem cheap enough there, unless there's good reason not to. New to the the are but not new to international traveling, third world countries, watching my back, etc. Know how to defend myself but prefer to have no reason to and avoid trouble / trouble areas. I speak decent Spanish, getting better but definitely not fluent. I'm not a flashy person, I know I will stick out like a sore thumb but don't plan on walking around with jewelry, a visible wallet, with my phone out, etc.
Obviously this forum is about mongering, I am not above this and it's a good back up plan but I plan on meeting some civilian girls I've been chatting and tinder and some other apps are popping for me pretty well. Obviously that comes with sorting through working girls, gold diggers, girls wanting assistance, sugar daddy, scammers, etc. Nothing new. Is there a forum or website somewhat like this one more dedicated to meeting regular / civilian girls, traveling as a single guy, etc?
Is there an area (s) of town where I should particularly stay? Safer, easier to find expats / western travelers, etc?
An area (s) I definitely need to avoid?
Do I need to worry about making sure my hotel allows guests? I plan on bringing multiple (one at a time) over, I've heard some weird or conflicting things about this. I haven't had an issue in other places I've traveled, they usually just need to bring ID to leave with front desk.
Any local attractions I should check out? Good weekend getaway place I can take a chica I fancy? Obviously want to do some fun things besides pursue or entertain women.
Gracias en avance.
Tips for if you do plan to monger.

I like to gamble and the Casino / Merengue Bar set-up they had was really cool. There used to be some decent working girls at the bar you could get and just bring up to your room at Jaragua, plus some girls walking around the Casino. Be classy at the bar as there will be many normal Dominican couples there just to dance, don't treat the place like a strip club and be discreet about your business. The hotel will let you take up one or two girls a night, but after that they will give you the stink eye sometimes. At night don't walk anywhere outside the Colonial Zone. I was there on weekend trips, so I didn't meet up with any Dominican Cupid chicks, although I spoke to many online. It was easier to just hit the brothels during the day and pick up girls from the Casino at night and there is two brothels near Colonial Zone that had a few decent girls to choose from. I did most of my mongering there. At the bars, I didn't speak Spanish, so I found it hard to get anything going with normal girls, although it's easy to dance with them and maybe you could make something happen if you speak a little Spanish. I only hit the bars of the Colonial Zone up. Be prepared to be nickel and dimed to death everywhere you go. Everyone wants a tip or has a sick grandma that needs money. Working girls, doormen, security, cab drivers, bar tenders, etc. It is what it is and SD is still plenty of fun, but be prepared to deal with that shit. There are gems in the DR you cannot find anywhere else on Earth. Unforgettably beautiful and fuck amazingly good and it makes all the bullshit worth it 10 fold. You need to hold out for the gems and not take the first cute chick you see and it is possible to miss out on the top talent for the night, so play the game right. Many Dominicans are really cool too and will bro down a little with you, LOL sometimes they will ask for a buck or two after but it's in good nature mostly. Also be smart bro, you have absolutely nothing to gain by fucking a Dominican dude up even if you are a dude who doesn't take shit in the USA. Either, you are going to get arrested and end up in a Dominican Jail or jumped or worse. If a Dominican is going to rob you, he's going to hit you from behind when you are not looking anyway. Be smart, stay safe, and keep yourself in line and you can't go wrong.
