I read the following review of the Marco Polo on trip advisor
Brothel or Hotel? The Marco Polo Davao needs to decide which it is. My wife and I recently spent 18 days at the Marco Polo. We were very pleased with the hotel facilities and staff. In many ways the Marco Polo is the first class hotel it claims to be. But the hotel has accommodated the rampant matchmaking and sex tourism industries of the Philippines. As a result the hotel is anything but family friendly. Everywhere there are men interacting with women who are clearly paid for their services like the five women boisterously frolicking in the pool with two Caucasian men, another Caucasian man slapping a scantily clad woman's derriere in the hallway and a Swedish man in the elevator who openly expressed his enjoyment of sex tourism while in Davao.
My wife and I discussed our concerns regarding the exploitation of women at the hotel with Anthony Tan, the new General Manager and he told us he is aware of the situation and will try to take steps to move the matchmaking activities off site and minimize the presence of prostitutes in the Marco Polo Davao. We suggested that a statement opposing sex trafficking be posted in the hotel as is often done in other Asian countries. We certainly won't return to the Marco Polo Hotel unless we know that they support the respectful treatment of women. Until that time, I would recommend other families to be very cautious about staying at the Marco Polo as well.
Guest Friendly Marco Polo
Your kinda making a moral statement yet a senior member of a sex forum site. It seems abit ironic that you care being a poster here.
Or you were just jealous and wished you were one of those white guys instead of with your wife LOL.
PC out
Wake up "Pcpc1688". If you read the heading in bold type it says "I read the following review of the Marco Polo on trip advisor". This is not the view of Wjmpsr or his moralist wife (LOL!). Marco Polo gets regular mention in this and the Davao forum on the main board. Wjmpsr was just providing the viewpoint of a couple who were not amused at Filipina boisterously frolicking in what they call a non family friendly hotel. Most hotels in the Philippines are very guest friendly; to all guests.

A change is going to come. Maybe
I . the arrest of 48 street walkers outside of the Banko Sentral last October. I am relatively new to Davao and perhaps naive, but my gut tells me a change is coming.
I've now lived here for more than ten years, and I've been a witness to the seismic changes that have swept this city, mainly in terms of economic expansion, but also in the apparent huge increase in the expatriate population. Wjmpsr may be correct in his intimations of a tightening up of the P4p scene here. On the other hand, Davao has never had a huge commercial sex industry, and periodic street walker sweeps have recurred throughout the duration of my time here. My guess is that, in the continual quest to attract more investments, the politicians want the image of the city to be that of a "serious" business friendly place that's safe and clean. Thus, it would not surprise me if the clubs, KTVs and other commercial sex venues were largely left alone, but the street hookers, being rather more conspicuous, were discouraged.
