I read through some of the reports and did not know if I should laugh or cry. One can have better luck in Houston or say, in Fayetteville compared to what I am reading here, speaking of places where paid sex is illegal. Gentlemen, in the DR, it is LEGAL and you do not have to call for escort services, like one does stateside. If you are strapped for time, perhaps it is understandable but if you have the whole day or week, get onto those stupid phone apps and get video calls to verify identity. Otherwise you do not know, how many people would be laughing their way to the bank, as they "service" your needs by someone who most likely gets paid 2000 pesos. White or dark skinned, recent arrival or forever there.

I have been all over the DR and had a great time but no where compares to good times in Sosua. Thousands of guys go there every year.

Back in town for the day only on 5/1. Super excited to visit GBP again, but it was close when I came by at 5 pm. I'm guessing it was due to the holiday. I texted Spa Odisea, and at that late hour they only had one girl left. With limited time to monger I pulled the trigger on it. Chose their soapy massage option as it is the cheapest at 1500 pesos. Last time I paid 2500 pesos I think for Nuru and that gel was nasty. Girl was cute, stripped down to a thong in the shower and gave me an erotic soap down, with a nice HJ release. When I was back on Calle Conde walking toward my hotel, I came across two cuties who offered to both go to a hotel with me for 2,000 pesos. I said sure, and we took a taxi to a short-term motel. When I went to pay the taxi, I realized that the first streetwalker had pickpocketed all my cash when she rubbed up against me. So I asked the taxi to drive us all to an ATM, I withdrew another bunch of cash, and went back to the hotel. After a great time --truly high quality I have to say-- with the two that had picked me up, while still in the hotel, they suddenly both turned nasty. First, while I was showering they stole all my money out of my pants, and then when I confronted them they said that they were both underage and were going to call the police to turn me in unless I went to an ATM --again-- and withdrew another 10,000 pesos (183 usd) to pay them off. They really came on in a very aggressive, nasty and confrontational manner, such that I got intimidated and actually gave in the their request and did so. I finally got back to my hotel alive, and miraculously they didn't steal my debit card or do anything worse. I consider myself lucky, considering everything bad and worse that could have happened. In conclusion, stay away from streetwalkers here, they are bad news. In my experience, perhaps the worst of any country.

I was on El Conde till late last night so we probably walked past each other.

That corner has always been for thieves. Usually they have been kicked off Conde so the heavy police presence keeps them on the dark out skirts. You are the third guy in 6 months who got robbed on that corner. The last incident was when 3 girls approached a dude and snatched his gold necklace and ran away. Also that corner is known for, the occasional transformer.

Never let a stranger touch you. They have to respect your comfort zone. They actually let you off light thankfully. I've heard of them hitting their head on the wall and start yelling. Then mysteriously a cop pops up at the door and the girls say he hit her and she is very young. They then ask for 1000 usd for it to end there or they will have to take him to the station and it will cost 5 k. Usually they gladly pay the 1 k.

Also two girls for 2 k should have raised your suspicion. Any other girl in that area will charge a newbie 5 k and maybe lower it to 3 k.

Be careful drinking in that area late night because it's so many traps to fall into. Also try not to make your ATM runs late at night. Glad you are okay. Good luck.

I have never had a problem with streetwalkers in Santo Domingo. Your first mistake was taking 2. I take it you have not read this forum at all. If you had then you would have known the risks of taking 2. And you went to a cabana with them only to leave your things unattended? May as well have saved that money and taken them to your hotel if you were going to let them rob you anyway.

Did they look underage? I have never seen a SW out there that looks underage. Many guys have posted to always check the ID. I never do that because I do not go for chicks that look underage. You could have saved yourself 10,000+ pesos by reading the forum and taking heed.

You were on roll my man. What happen to you was a nightmare. Much of it was your own fault. Do not feel too bad you lost a few hundred but it is only money. Lots of these girls carry blades and will use them when threaten. Doing a 3 some with girls you do not know in the DR is risky. The girls are inbolden when teamed up. The under age ploy was a winner. I hate preaching at you but you broke a lot of rules. The girls had to show their cedullas when you checked in the hotel. Never the less paying 100 dollars to get out dodge is a good move on your part. Being threaten by is very uncomfortable I doubt they would have called the police but fighting with 2 hookers is losing proposition. El Conde attracts scammers. He paid $183 plus the at least 2000 pesos (never said if it was each or together or how much he took from the ATM that ended up stolen) that was stolen from him. For those flying out of Atlanta, is Spirit reliable? Or should I spend the money on Delta. Seems like flying 4 hours in a tin can is about the same, but looking for advice.

How hard is it to get a SIM for my phone? I am not to tech savvy, when the new SIM is in, will I still have my whatsapp contacts?

I am staying at the Jaragua Hotel. Is there anything in walking distance from the hotel or will I need to uber?

For those who have stayed or visited the Jaragua, what are the best times for the bar, club and casino to look for chicas? Should I check the pool also?

I will be staying for 2 weeks. Yes, I know I asked about the cheap flight but to me, one tin can is as good as another if it is reliable. I am choosing to stay at the Jaragua Hotel for rookie reasons plus there are some good reviews here.

50 ish / white / no Spanish / first trip to RD / sight seeing and mongering / 2 weeks there.
