Thank you for posting here. Why the fuck would the Marco Polo NOT peremit your wife into the Hotel? In ten years staying here I have never had a problem remotely like this. My 19 year old from Cebu flew to Davao last January alone and went to the Marco Polo. SHe tends to dress elegantly but with her huge tits hanging out of her blouse. ANd she wears makeup (horror upon horrors) which many in the Philippines consider improper for young ladies.

Last November when I was at the MP with my wife, I would often go out to the front of the hotel area where the security folks were to have a smoke. Over the past 16 years I have stayed at a good 15 different hotels in Davao City. Like in CDO, I found most of them to be absolutely terrible! I think the primary reason is that few foreigners still travel to this part of the Philiippines. Very little contact with foreigners leaves the hotel Staff with no comprehension of the vast cultural differences or how westerners wish to be treated when staying in a hotel. I am totally sick of hotel staff ignoring me and approaching the lady I am with to inform her of certain matters relating to my Stay at the Hotel. In virtually every instance, it was the girl's first time ever to be in a Hotel and she had no fucking idea what the uy was talking about with her. Yet the asshole was insistent in conversing with her and ignorimg me completely until I ot to the point where I began to "rip him a new asshole".

Complaints to Hotel Management have resulted in me having a Reputation in Hotels of being "very tough" or Strict as Filipinos like to describe it. When my Jen was coming from Manila to meet me at the Marco Polo years ago, She was at the room door knocking and I was taking a bath. I did not get a text from her indicating that she was on her way to the Hotel so I decided to relax and bathe. The bellboy was reluctant to open the door and let her into my room, saying,"Mr _____ gets very angry with us. I am fearful for what may happen":. Jen told him that nothing will happen as she was there and he would get angry if she was kept waiting outside.

So, she was let in and she simply undressed and joined me in the tub. These days I inform the front desk to simply give my Lady a key to the room on her way upstairs, eliminating any problem. Staying only at the Marco Polo these days I have no problems.

I did enjoy my stay at Red Knight Garden and I recommend this Hotel to anyone who does not mind staying out near the airport on a side street out of the way. Hotel is nice but you do need to make reserrvations a good 4-6 weeks in advance as it fills up fast year round. It is a very popular place for westerners from all over. I like being able to sit outside in the evening having a drink and seeing the night sky. Rose would go swimming at night in the beautiful pool and also in the morning. I might even stay here again for a few nights just to see how it is today.

I was reading a copy of Mindinao Magazine where I read about Wolfgang. The magazine was not dated, but based on a quick Internet search it must have been from 2012 or before, so forget about my question.

I stayed at the Apeview (Apo View) Hotel last January for what was my LAST TIME EVER! Wolfgang resigned in December 2012 (or was fired, depending on each guy's story). He brought to the Apo View Hotel badly needed European efficiency and his expertise in Hotel & Restaurant Management.

Since his departure the Hotel runs itself! And it IS a fucking piece of shit hotel now! On girl stopped at the front desk to inquire as to my Room number. The little tramp *unt front desk girl told her I "have many women coming to see me and she should NOT meet me". I got a text from the Lady with this exact information. I checked out the following morning, a Saturday. I demanded to speak to the new GM and I was told he was not available. I asked to speak to the Manager on Duty and I was told that "as it was the weekend, no Manager was working".

I was told by one of the long time man employed in the Hotel when I arrived that the new GM IS NEVER IN THE HOTEL. He told me that "since Wolfgang left the Hotel is running itself and there are many problems". I inquired as to what women were working the front desk Friday. A girl read me the Names and then the old fuck piece of shit, who has been a clerk at the front desk for 15 years or more, grabbed the list from her and "informed" me that they had no way to tell who worked the previous day.

I called the little prick a FUCKING LIAR. Told him I would be filing numerous complaints and mentioning his pathetic, worthless, lying ass in my complaints. Of course, he could care less. If the Hotel goes empty or never gets a foreigner to stay there again he will be VERY HAPPY. I left the Hotel giving him a good FUCK YOU!

To be mentioned also is that with Wolfgang gone the Hotel has reverted to the HORRIBLE PRACTICE IN THE PHILIPPINES of ignoring me and speaking directly to whatever Lady I am with in vasayan. In this case it was my 19 year old from Cebu who had flown in the night before to Davao City. We quickly got the hell out of Apeview Hotel forever.

I just purchased my flight for my next Trip to the Philippines. I will spend roughly ten days in Davao. All at the Marco Polo I would imagine as I seek a condo to rent or buy if I can get terms other than PAYMENT IN FULL.

On my January exit from the Apeview Hotel I transferred to the Waterboy Hotel (Waterfront Hotel). I had heard about this Hotel over the year but I never stayed here. I was exited to make this move. A friend booked my reservation as an Employee of his Wine Distribution Company which also supplies wines to the Hotel. He got me his Rate.

My enthusiasm was dampened tremendously when I arrived at the Hotel with my huge titted 19 year old from Cebu. We exit the taxi and are approached by two Gay Boys, hotel employees. Not simply gay, these "powder puffs" were GAY AND AWAY! They danced up winking at me and smiling at my lady.

I got to the desk, got my room keys and asked them to "keep the poofs at bay". One fag took my bags and another got my girl's but kept a good 10 meters from me at this point. We stopped to eat lunch at the only restaurant I would ever dine at in the Hotel, the bistro which served pizzas and salads. The rest of the restaurants were horrifically overpriced. One was empty in the evening when we stopped by. Had a nasty women in her 40s as manager and I simply suggested we ride into town to eat at Henny's De Bonte Koe.

It became a regular event over the six days I was in this Waterboy Hotel to get a taxi nightly and travel back into downtown Davao for decent food. Had to wait for a taxi sometimes as it was a good 1. 5 kms from the Hotel lobby to the road. But the Trip was worth it. Room service was horrifically over priced also, save for the pizzas. Did not want a steady diet of pizzas. Wine list had wines marked up 400% of Retail. So we bought wines to drink at Swiss Deli and stopped at convenience stores for snacks and drinks.

On the 4th day my lady left to be at her Mother's birthday party in Cebu. An hour after she exited my Room, my beautiful 22 year old Mother of my young Son arrived with him from Ormoc, via Cebu. Seeing my young Son had the gays at the Waterboy dancing and prancing about whenever we left the Room. Gays get exited about babies, not sure why. Guess the "maternal instinct" in their fag brains. Lesbians (not bi ladies) seem to have no interest in them.

The fags by now had realized that I DID NOT want them within 30 meters. They kept away and my infant son's mother refused to allow any of them to hold him (she does not allow any strangers near him; good idea). We decided to head to Cebu after celebrating my birthday. Planned this for Henny's De Bonte Koe Restaurant. had a great time except for my first taking a 90 minute ride to get my Son, Conor. His Mother told me he wanted to be with me so I went to get him alone in a taxi. Get all the way out there and he refused to go.

Tired and angry I go to henny's where everyone is preparing to have a nice celebration. I had my Son and his Mother go direct to the Restaurant. This saved them the long taxi ride and hearing me scream at Conor's mother for fucking up my birthday. Took a few drinks and a good hour or more to begin to enjoy myself.

When I departed the Waterboy Hotel I was a very happy man. To be noted, there are NO ROOMS in the Waterboy (Waterfront ) with sea views. And the ocean here is polluted so no swimming. It smelled horrific so no point in walking by the sea either. Rooms are small and I was not at all pleased with my stay. Why the Hotel has so many gay employees is something I do not know. Never saw so many fags working in one Place since I was in the Castro District of San Francisco years ago.

You have mentioned an interest in purchasing or renting a property in Davao. I rent a newly built townhouse not far from Damosa. The traffic on jp laurel really sucks, so slow I can usually walk faster. I looked at a few condos when I first moved here. Talk about small, a big guy like you would feel like a sardine. I am sure you already know this, but for others, please note: unfurnished means no stove, no refrigerator, no air con, no hot water, basically no nothing. Furnished places usually post pics but they are usually old, and furnishings are on a scale for your average Filipino, not so comfortable for a big boned 6'4" man like yourself. My rent for a very nice 3br 3cr townhouse is 30, 000 a month, plus electric about 4, 000 (air con master br only) ' water 1, 500, Internet 999 (my bro 1MBPS on a good day). Like most homes here the bathrooms and kitchen are small with low countertops (kills my back) , to save time I could shower and shit at same time, my cr is that small. I bought all new nice furnishings and mattresses. Mandue Foam has good prices, I wish I checked them out before I bought most of my things I bought a lazy boy from Blims in Abrezza. My first recliner broke and they replaced it no problem. Save all receipts. One last thing, I spend a lot on food, we eat well, but food is not cheap in Davao. I am amazed by the amount some cheap skates claim they live on each month.

Thank you. 30, 000 pesos ($690 US) is more than I am prepared to pay. I already own a beautiful home on Leyte that I built ten years ago (took 2 years and paid cash). I want a nice place and I prefere close to city center as I like many places in downtown Davao (Henny's De Bonte Koe, Claude's Café de Ville, Hot Legs 3, Blue Room at Apo View, Chica Nightclub, Yves Bon Appetit). Back in 2004 I lived with GoodEnough briefly in Ladislawa. Did not like the commute into town nightly.

I will look into places this Trip. I know the cost of appliances and decent beds as I have furnished Rose's town house in Davao and also my Home. It is all much less than what I pay here in America. Food cost in Davao may be expensive for what I eat (beef tenderloin, ostrich steak, salmon, tuna, etc) and I drink mostly good, red wines. Wines in Davao are not expensive if you like French reds or from Chilea. Italian reds are high and the cost of California reds is outrageous.

I am still leaning towards a 1-2 bedroom condo as it will bee unoccupied for months. I need good locks, security system and a Place that is not likely to be "invaded by Filipino squatters while I am away". If I were to put a Filipina into the Place (any Filipina) she would certainly move in Family and a "cousin" around her age that she is blowing / fucking in my absence. I KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT LIFE IN THE PHILIPPINES.

Anyone with comments on Living in Davao is invited to join. As to guys claiming to live on $ 500-600 / month. They live like Filipinos and eat Filipino foods and cook at home all the time. It can be done. Not for me but I am NOT retired, living on a small pension.

I am looking for a Place that will cost me from P 20, 000 to 25, 000 monthly. I can always upgrade if I want better and find that this is working out. But I will be her for a few weeks, gone a couple months and then back again.
