Mermaid Beach Resort. Great just walking acroos the road to the beach. But not so good as I really wanted to be in the Pattaya Walking Street Area.
Secrets Hotel. Really great for the Walking Street. Almost in it.
Woodlands Resort. Kinda got fed up with the Walking Street and more into Soi 2. So tried this place last time.
Who knows where I will stay next time? Tiger any ideas for me? Where do you like to stay?
I used to stay at Da Max (Italian Pizzeria with hotel) in soi post office. 700 Baht with wired internet connection. But at some point it seems the Thais thought they can run the hotel without the Italians and from then it went downhill to a degree that I was caught in the lift in several occations, internet didn't work, the room safe was out of order....... Bottom of the barrel since.
Secrets is a very good choice, they even have imported condoms (from the US) in their minibar at a very competitive price. If only it was not so difficult to get a room there. They are mostly fully booked.

Local apartments
Hi all
Can somebody please recommend any mid-range serviced apartments close to the action.
I've found a few in Jomtien, but don't fancy the daily commute.
Any suggestions would be most welcome
Thanks in advance.

As a suggestion you can look here for anything that meets your fancy: http://www.dancewatchers.com/Room_Rental_Menu_for_Pattaya_and_Jomtien_nightly_condo_rentals_by_dancewatchers.com.html
Look at View Talay 6 which is the condo building just to the left of Central Plaza on 2nd road. I have stayed there twice now and will be staying there a month when I am back in January/February. The longer you stay the cheaper the daily rate becomes.
Again, just my thoughts. I have nothing to do with the renting of anything.

Talay 6, is a Condo... do you want Condo or " Midrange Apartment " This is precisely why the questions were asked? Near the action? There is action in Walking Street, There is action in Central Pattaya, There is action in North Pattaya Naklua, There is action on the darkside? This way you don't have to bored yourself to tears with the endless, tedious and inane posts regarding the pros/cons of the PH.
Hiya Guys,
Well slap my wrists. Sounds like I am in trouble with the ISG Pattaya Forum Police. Please accept my humblest apologies for daring to write about something that is obviously very sensitive. I will endeavour to try and improve and gain credibility.
Thank you.
I was merely stating a fact. A new member here won't have much credibility until he has posted several valuable reports on P4P related topics.
Now, if you want to be taken more seriously here, just start to post reports on other matters and please, spare us your inept ironical remarks.

The "darkside" is "east of sukumwit". The "other side of the road" - away from the beach and keep going... (just googtle (Pattaya darkside")
Not quite so "light" (as in light bulbs) but no way is it "evil" (just an absolute BEATCH to get to/from without a moto.). Lower number of poo-ying, too.

Talay 6 is pretty sweet and great location.
You can get a room for a month at Metro Apartments (guest house, no kitchen) http://www.metro-apartments-pattaya.com/apartment.php
Also there's Nova Park http://www.novaparkpattaya.com/

St.hotel in Pattaya
Hi
Are there St-Hotels in Pattaya near the action ?
I know that most hotels are girlsfriendly, but if you want to take several girls
(2 -3) at the same time, i prefer to take them to a ST-Hotel
Thanks
Hi LBM,
Thanks for the info! This is good stuff.
As for Fraser, I am going to see if I can spend a couple of nights in the one bedroom as I like the extra space but will also try the deluxe. What happens if I bring 2 friends back home, do I need to indicate the 3 persons will be staying with me.
As for Baywalk Residences (thanks for the link), I had a problem with their website for checking availability so sent them an e-mail instead. But the Royal Suite is exactly what I am looking for (albeit a bit pricey) but something I could enjoy for a couple of nights (to splurge) and then fall back to a regular room. I assume no joiner fees here too but will ask them directly.
Will try these options on my next trip and report back.
Hi Message
How did you go with the Fraser?
Did you try to take 2 friends back? I note that they say there is a maximum 2 adults
I am planning a trip and wouldn't want embarrassment

My list isn't exhaustive, but I know that the following places offer (or did offer in the past) short time rooms in Pattaya (as well as some bars and clubs that are mostly located on Soi 6, Soi Chaiyapoon and Soi LK Metro):
- Galaxy Suites (Soi Diamond)
- PS Guest House (Soi Yamato)
- Secrets (Soi 14)
- Tony's (Soi 16)
- The Green View Hotel (Soi 15)
- Full Love Inn (soi Bongkot, near 3rd Road)
I doubt that you want to go to the PS Guesthouse with more than one girl (very cheap rooms there, but not very nice nor comfortable and the bed is not large in most rooms), but that should be quite possible in the other places mentioned above (they are more expensive though). A ST room was 100 baht at the PS Guesthouse room the last time I had to use one there (in year 2009). In the other places, you will be charged about 300 to 600 baht (approximately) for a couple of hours (usually not more than 3) if I am not mistaken (I have not checked them recently).

- PS Guest House (Soi Yamato)
I think this is 150 baht. +50 baht if you take another girl. Dirty run down rooms.
- Tony's (Soi 16)
350 baht I think
- The Green View Hotel (Soi 15)
450 baht (or 800 for the night!). Good lighting. Big mirror.
I don't know prices for these
- Galaxy Suites (Soi Diamond)
- Secrets (Soi 14)
- Full Love Inn (soi Bongkot, near 3rd Road)
Also there's Sweethearts, near Soi Happy, 350 baht, or 2 hours. Decent rooms, LCD tv. Don't go into the gogo, go upstairs. http://www.sweetheartsagogo.com/
Jasmine Hotel, 350 baht, off Soi BJ. Rooms are ok. http://www.jasminehotel-pattaya.com/cgi-bin/rez60load.pl?0001/mp0001.html

About the price for a ST room at the Galaxy Suites, it was 500 baht for the standard rooms (1500 baht for the jacuzzi suite) in the past (about 2 or 3 years ago).
At Secrets, if I am not mistaken, it was 450 or 500 baht (again, I have not checked this place recently).
At the Full Love Inn, a ST standard room was 280 baht (it's more expensive for a VIP room) only and their rooms are a lot nicer than those of the PS Guest House (I didn't know that they now charge 150 baht instead of 100 baht for a ST room here!).

I've been to Pattaya several times but never really found a hotel that I like... Baron Beach Hotel was perhaps my least unfavourite...
In BKK it seem s relatively easily to find smart clean spacious apartment-style rooms (eg Citadines, etc) at a reasonable price. I expect to pay less in Pattaya of course, but does anyone have any suggestions for my next trip? In a perfect world I would like a modern style (white decor rather than brown), clean, bathroom with walk-in shower, wifi, er, that's about it. Not too bothered about location.
