Heck of a way to spend a vacation, sounds like an episode of that show "Locked up Abroad." They have not done a show on Brazil, somehow I doubt they'd be doing it on a monger locked up :-D

The guys here, didn't hear about this, until you posted about it. A search of Oglobo, Odia and gpguia websites failed to find reports of the raids mentioned. I, too wonder about the $R500 fine. Was that for not having your passport with you? 5yrs ago....were you on ken's boat?

Thanks Koolkid, she looks in better shape than in real, I guess she has 6-8kg more now.

Yet not able to get from emule the movie, there is only Cd1, I hope she is not in the Cd2 ;)

I was in Rio Antigo last week. Things were slow. There were only 3 girls. Two 3/10 and a 6/10.
After I picked up the 6/10 girl, she led me in the room and told me "I'll be back right away". I waited what seemed to me a long time, at least 10 minutes. When she finally arrived, she told me that the 40 minutes session had started from when we had first entered the room, so that we had only 30 minutes left. I asked her to call the manager, and tell him to reset the time to NOW. She called the manager who refused.
So I decided to cancel everything and I walked out. Of course, the manager put the fault on the girl who herself put the fault on the manager. After some hassle, I could get out.
Total damage : 60R$ entrance fee + 25R$ for 2 drinks.
Not worth going there.

That last sentence sums it up perfectly. Rio Antigo is in desperate need of new management & owners. I´ve always felt that the place had potential but it´s always dead in there and the handful of ladies there are usually south of 5 on the 1 to 10 scale. 5 years ago they at least had a couple of gems but last time I stopped through about 3 years ago I had had enough. It´s just a waste of R$60.

Same thing goes for Termas Aeroporto unless you like fat chicks (granted that I haven´t been there in quite a while).

This was definetly some way for them to get money out of me. I did no crime. But they told me because I was involved with an institution that was being investigated, I was subject to the fine or 30 days in jail. Trust me, when you are in a foreign country, there is no arguing or winning with the Police. They are crooked as it is. I was never thrown in a prison cell. Rather in a huge holding pen as a 'detainee' with other mongers and *****s. It was histerical. I rapped with a GDP for the whole day. Got her number and when let loose we went back to my pad for a whole day of fun. Talk about Irony here.

I was there about a year ago and didn't see too many fat chicks. What did stand out was that it was the only Tier One terma I've been to that had women >30 years old working there.

Até às 16h, cinco salas no edifício Central, na Avenida Rio Branco, que funcionavam com alvarás de empresas de engenharia, marketing e até consultório de terapia holística, exerciam outra atividade: casas de massagem que cobravam de R$ 40 a R$100 por sessão.

Fiscais das subsecretarias de Fiscalização e Operações lavraram auto de infração contra essas empresas que poderão ser interditadas por apresentarem alvará em desacordo com a atividade exercida. O choque de ordem levou cinco clientes e 29 funcionárias – 27 massagistas e duas gerentes - para a delegacia do Centro (5ªDP). A Seop recebeu a denúncias da subprefeitura e de escritórios que funcionam no edifício Avenida Central de que haveria por trás dessas empresas exploração sexual de mulheres. A polícia, que atuou em conjunto com a operação, vai investigar a atividade dos envolvidos.

A primeira sala a ser lacrada foi a 3320. Ali funcionaria as empresas Kroy e CR2 de engenharia, conforme licenciamento da Prefeitura. No entanto, a fiscalização se deparou com uma casa de massagens com 12 mulheres, uma gerente, e três clientes.

No vigésimo primeiro andar, na sala 2114, a empresa de terapia holística e também de telecomunicações de nome Naja, cinco mulheres e um cliente foram flagrados em atividade em desacordo com a estabelecida pela municipalidade e foram encaminhadas à 5ªDP.

Na sala 1839, Big One Marketing limitada, a atividade também era diferente da determinada pelo alvará. Foram levadas para delegacia três mulheres e o dono da empresa, o asiático Paulo Lee Tsai, que chegou ao local e foi surpreendido pela fiscalização. No mesmo andar, na 1833, quatro mulheres, um gerente e um cliente também foram detidos.

Já na sala 1619, a empresa Personal Vip Massagem, foi denunciada por exceder as atividades estabelecidas por seu alvará. Três mulheres foram encaminhadas à delegacia policial. A operação continua. Mais cinco salas estão sendo fiscalizadas e poderão ser fechadas até o final da ação."

In brief: Fraud. They were originally licensed to operate as engineering, marketing, and as a holistic therapy, but were massage parlors. 5 clients, 29 employees, 27 masseurs and 2 managers were taken in.

They closed 3320, 2114, 1833, 1839, and 1619. This was based on a complaint that sexual exploitation of women, aka prostitution, was occurring there. The investigation continues and are looking into 5 more companies doing business there.

My take on this: Someone forgot to make a payment or the payment just increased. Give it a couple of days, it will be business as usual.
