Jonesie.
I enjoyed your report on Managua. Brought me a lot of chuckles.
First. I have ridden on the SJO to MGA flight quite a few times. I agree, it is a turbo-prop that seats like 30 folks. So far, so good, both you and I are still alive! Wise move though to take the bus home. No reason to tempt fate!
Finding change anywhere in Nicaragua is always an adventure. Even at the airport.
I must laugh. 'O something' sounds like the hottest woman I have ever seen at Caribbean Morena. They are always a bit 'robust' there. The girls generally come for Bluefields or somewhere along the Caribbean coast. Was O something a Caribe? If O something was black then I assume she spoke English.
Attachment 4156. LOL. No way in hell this is a slightly overweight and darker skinned morena from the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua. This is not 'O something'. Nor, is it the interior of Caribbean Morena. Jonesie, wrong attachment!
4157. Again. Wrong photo, wrong brothel, wrong country!
You walked from Hotel Yolaina all the way to MetroCentro? At night? Damn, my man, that is a pretty bold and daring hike.
I am dying laughing with your comment, 'Where's the brothel' seemed wildly inappropriate. ' That's a good one. Actually, not too inappropriate for Managua though. Hehehe.
4167. 'Invalid attachment', no photo.
You were at Spa Sobel, which is the hair salon close to the bus station. They have pretty cute girls in the back, but a bit pricey. First time I was there I hit on the real stylist cutting someone's hair in the front of the shop. She turned into a great girlfriend for about a year. Better than the working girls in the back.
LOL. Excellent description of Fenix. A blend of a massive Chinese restaurant and a WWII bomb shelter. Like John Gault says, you used to have to walk across boards to get from the bar to the rooms. Are the rooms still as big of dumps as they used to be?
That is tough when inflation has driven up pricing for sex to all of $16! Damn. What is this f-ing world coming to?
4160 – no photo.
4158 – This young lady does not look Nicaraguan. Nor is the room located at Fenix.
4161 – no photo.
4159 – Is this photo from the 'All Asian Review' over at the national cathedral? I have never seen a girl this hot in Nicaragua, therefore, I am guessing this is the wrong photo. For you lurkers that have never been to Nicaragua. There is not an 'All Asian Review'. However, if I am wrong, I would love to hear where it is located.
'It's odd to me that a girl could insist on a covered blowjob, even when offered a tip, then pull it off in the middle of intercourse and let me go to town on her. ' Well, my friend, welcome to the mindset of a Nicaraguan. Your mistake is in assuming there was logic involved here. In my 15 years in Nicaragua, I can count on one hand the number of times I have had to deal with logic in this fair little land!
4166 – Never seen a beach this crowed in Nicaragua. Nor is this the inside of Club Cueto.
4164 – no photo.
4163 – Katy must have Asian parents?
4165 – no photo.
4162 – Now Katy has blonde hair and has put on some weight. She does look quite a bit different after an hour of shagging.
'Any debauchery your twisted mind can conjure up. ' I think I would like you Jonesie!
Amazin, Kerem actually showed up! Better than 50% of the time, Nica women just don't show up.
Fantasia is a great 'stop-and-bop'. In addition to the regular $15 rooms they have bigger rooms with Jacuzzis, couches, even fireplaces (for those cold snowy nights where you just want to snuggle)! Nice place.
4170. You did not mention that Kerem was Asian.
4179. Yikes! Is this a guy in a wig? Kerem needs some work.
4168. No photo.
4177. Now Kerem has long dark hair and she has grown boobs.
4175. Kerem has lost a bunch of weight. You must have worn her out!
4173. She is cute. But, I guarantee that is not the inside of Fantasia.
4171. Asian Kerem again.
4169. Asian Kerem is getting hotter.
4178. Now she looks Czech.
4176. Hot Kerem again.
4174. The tat looks bigger than Kerem's entire body.
4172. Forget the sarcasm. This girl is hot. What country do I find her in?
Jonesie. I enjoyed your report. However, could you now attach the 'correct' photos and repost? I did enjoy your text though.

Headed down on Monday. Anyone know if Club Hollywood Girls (the old Vale Todo) has reopened? How about Cueto Club, anyone under 200 lbs. In this establishment? What is the latest on Caribbean Morena? Any new suggestions for something not previoiusly known in Managua? How about the barber shop recommendations of Pablo at Hotel Yolaina?

Really good report.
I was curious to know how you did finding these places as a newbie. Did you have someone from the hotel bring you to these locations or did you wander on foot / taxi solo?
Could you see yourself spending a few weeks in MGA and the surrounding areas or was a few days plenty for you?
Again great report.

Hi Aretisttyp,
Well, I wouldn't really consider myself a newbie. Maybe for MGA, but I've been in the seen a while. I live in Costa Rica, speak Spanish, and I own a monger board. I'd say I had a little bit of a head start. There are tons of guys who live in CR who go to MGA & PTY for visa runs, so there was a wealth of info to begin with. Also, there's a map that is on many of these sites that I could reference. And to kick it all off, there's a quasi guide on this forum one can use as a starting point.
As for spending extended periods of time there, who knows? Managua isn't a bad place to hang out. It's a little ghetto in some areas, but I found the people to be nice, fairly honest, and hard working. The food is definitely better than Costa Rica, and cheaper. The percentages for pretty women are quite a bit lower than Costa Rica, but there are some very lovely girls available for pocket change compared to the global average. And the climate is fairly pleasant. A little on the warm side, but not that bad while I was there.

You should post your request for info here.
You will have difficulty without the ability to speak some Spanish. I would suggest you get a guide. Pablo or Silvio would work. However, I found that I did much better and for less money with a non English speaking taxi driver, but that won't work for you. You will have difficulty finding an English speaking taxi in the Centro Metro area of Managua. At the airport, you should be able to find some. Marcos is a good one.
Silvio wanted $45 to take me to Granada and my driver wanted $30. I think you can guess who I went with. Silvio gave me the number of a taxi, so I would have someone when he wasn't available, bit this guy liked to gouge you with excessive rates. I told Silvio about it. That is why I found my own taxi. Pablo was out of the country the day after I arrived.
Also there are other options than Hotel Yolaina in the central area, but since you don't speak Spanish, Yolaina is probably a good choice. However, I know I won't stay there again.
As for the ladies, I don't think you will find many that speak English. Although there was a good looker at the club next to Good Times who spoke good English. I think her name is Cristina and she just started there. She is not the hard core type and is very affectionate. At least she was with me. She kissed me many times while we were having a drink and I wanted to take her TLN, but she said I had to pay the management up front first, so I declined.
My internet connection is weak, so that is it for now.

I'd be curious to know what the other hotels are and if you have an email address for them? I know spanish. Thank You. Would you not stay at Yolaina again due to price gouging or for other reasons? I prefer to stay away from these types of places myself.
Jonesie,
Thank you for responding.

I've stayed there a couple of times and have nothing but good things to say. I was given a very reasonable rate and they are always very hospitable. Pablo drove me around for 3 hours, showing me around the city once and never asked for a dime. Another time Silvio Drove me to several clubs to meet my friends and then went to pick up my girl from work and brought her back to the hotel for me. All he asked was for $20 gas money. That night he drove me around for about 3 hours. Both have gone to the store for beer or other things I've needed and brought back all my change, never charging me a fee. Your right about finding a good taxi driver at the airport. Probably your best chance at finding one that speaks engish.

Jonesie,
Thank you for responding.[/QUOTE]Price gouging had nothing to do with my comment on Yolaina. I have a very slow connection, so I will get back with you on that and the other Hotels.
Others should read my post more carefully as I did not make a negative comment about Pablo or Silvio and in fact, I recommended them to those who don't speak Spanish! The comment about the fee to Granada was not meant to be negative against Silvio, but just reality. I will comment more later.

Hotel Yolaina
Hotel Yolaina is a good low budget hotel, but I have some issues that had me look for other options.
When I walked into my room there was a strong odor and I don't know what it was. If it would have been much stronger, I would have left. It was just tolerable.
The pool is 7 steps from the room I had and that is typical of the ground floor rooms. Any activity in or around the pool is easily heard in the room. I heard various conversations from people sitting in the pool area, which leads me to believe that any activity in my room could easily be heard outside the room.
At times there are kids in the pool area and it gets kind of noisy. If you like privacy and quiet space, you may have issues here. Two of the four days I was there I heard loud music coming from one of the rooms. I don't know if it was from a guest or Hotel staff. One morning it started at 6:30 and the other morning a bit later. I was up both times, so not a big deal, but could have been if I wanted to sleep in a little more.
There was supposed to be hot water, but I never had any. The internet didn't work for 1½ - 2 days of the four days I was there.
The family that runs the hotel, lives there and there are two sofa's in the entrance area with a TV that some family members seem to use often. When I brought a lady in for the night, one of the young ladies of the family was there watching TV. I felt a little uncomfortable with that.
Pablo and Silvio are not there all the time and if you don't speak Spanish, you may have a little trouble when you check in as no one spoke English when I checked in. Not an issue for me, but for those who don't speak Spanish it could present some difficulty.
Pablo was there about an hour after I checked in and said he would be leaving for several weeks. He said that Silvio would be around later to take me on a tour. I said that sounded good. I never saw Silvio until the next morning. I got a ride from Silvio to the bank and we discussed going on a tour at 5:00. He dropped me off there and I wandered around the mall and got a taxi to take me back later. When 5:00 rolled around I didn't see Silvio, so I asked one of the Hotel staff if Silvio was around and then he showed up a little later and seemed to forget all that we discussed earlier. He told me that he can't drive around all the guests whenever they need a driver and I told him I understood that and I never expected him to be my personal driver. At this point that was the only ride I got from him and I paid him $5. 00 for that. Other than a tour of the area, I never needed him for a ride again. He gave me the name and number of a taxi driver he recommended. That guy charged ridiculous rates. I told Silvio about it and from then on I found my own taxi drivers.
If I ever need a hotel in Managua again it will be Hotel Colonnade. The place is quiet, clean, discreet and close to everything you need and less than 5 minutes from Galerias Mall.

You got it right with dumping the over the odds taxi rates. Managua taxis are cheap.
Remember, normal taxis run for 100 cordobas from the Airport to Managua. When I read in other posts about people paying 100 to 200 cordobas within the city itself you know its all wrong! 30 to 60 cords is the rate anywhere within town, double that if you want to state it as privado.
