Arrived in BKK last saturday evening and decided to head for patpong after a long time not having been there. If you stand in front of the Safari Bar, there is a bar not far at your right hand side, where they advertise the beer all night happy hour for 60 Baht. Sorry I forgot the name. Went in and after sitting down, a very cute girl approached me to sit with me. She spoke very little English, but was very cute and approaching. I decided to ask her how much she wanted for LT. Since she quote 2000, I agreed and made sure with the Mamasan that it was fot LT. Bought her and the Mamasan a drink and we headed for the room. Back in the room she started to explain, that LT means 2-3 hours and all night was 3000. I told her to get lost and gave her 100 B taxi money. Then she tried to renegotiate, but my mood was gone. Her Name is PIM !! Sorry, I didn't have a chance to take a picture. If someone knows the name of the bar, please PM me and I will edit my report and ad it.

I would definitely try Tulip Massage at ThongLor BTS station, one of the best massage places in BKK. They open at 10 am. 400 for 1 hr oil massage plus 1500 for the girl for FS. In the room they drank beer but then couldn’t remember anything else until they had been transferred to the hospital. Later they said that the property inside their luggage was gone, including one gold necklace, three gold rings, one mobile phone, a digital camera, 8,000 baht, and 5,200 US dollars.

The officers followed up with the hotel and discovered that the hotel employees had made copies of the two women’s ID cards before allowing them to go with the Indians into the room. They have been named as Ms Nuanwan Khunachak, 30, of a Bangkok address, and Ms Chicha Kongsida, 21, from Sakon Nakhon. Police are now on their trail.

So be careful when you drink with strangers and watch your drink all the time. And no, it's not just Indians but all mongerers/tourists (farangs or otherwise) are equal targets.

Though not a rookie to Thai women, I am a rookie to the Thai adventure. I can say I am here now. It is party time. After reading so many of your post (good idea for all the new folks before asking dumb questions), i think I am mostly prepared. Luckily I also have friends here. First visit to Bangkok, and I must begin with a huge thank you to everybody on this Forum. The information here is priceless. You just can’t find it anywhere else.

Example 1: arriving at the new Suvarnabhumi airport late at night knackered after 23 hours travel, I knew where to get a metered taxi into the city, and how much it should cost. (You avoid the touts, go downstairs from the arrivals hall, find the metered taxi lineup, get a chit from the taxi dispatchers sitting at marked tables, tell them your destination, they write it in Thai for the driver, give you a paper with the taxi number and driver’s name and a phone # to call should you not be satisfied with the service – you don’t get this in the US!)

Example 2: the Majestic Grande Hotel – ‘it rocks’ someone here reported – and after a long journey, it’s the place you hope to find. Upscale hotel, girl friendly, excellent facilities, comfortable rooms at about half the North American prices. A new place – even the Lonely Planet guide to Bangkok doesn’t list it yet – but courtesy of this Forum I’m situated right next to Annie’s and 300 meters from Nana Entertainment Plaza.

There’s a spa and massage service in the Majestic on the 7th floor (with a ‘happy ending’ someone here said), but it was closed by the time I checked in (midnight). So was Annies. I needed some relaxation, wanting to make full use of the time, so – example 3 – I called Sabai Sabai at 0-2253-4523, they spoke good English, quoted 600bt for 1 hour Thai massage, and sent the girl over within 15 minutes.

She was young and cute, called Pear, and indeed she was well named, perky breasts, tight body, very friendly and polite, gorgeous smile, and got down to work on me (clothed) doing a good massage. She actually got the kinks out of my muscles and crunched my back a few times, which was worth the price alone.

i have done a lot of traveling to europe and latin america and recently had an opportunity to be in singapore. i found a cheap flight from singapore to bangkok on air asia ($29 sing one-way) and decided to go to what has been described as monger heaven. i did a lot of browsing on the forum before hand and sort of had an idea what i wanted to do. i decided to try livingstone’s since it seemed to be a good place for someone new to the bangkok scene. the reservation process was easy, just a couple of e-mails and i was set for a few days in bkk.

day 2 – after my introduction with praew, things looked pretty good. on the agenda today was massage, touring around, soi cowboy and then the sports bar at livingstone’s. i got a pretty good introduction to bangkok frm a friend that took me around. he recommended a massage place and i had a great oil massage. the place was a therapeutic place, although a “happy finish” was offered and accepted. this was my first time for a massage like that and it was really incredible. i went to soi cowboy about 10:30 and it wasn’t too interesting to me. i went into one bar and the ladies were so aggressive that i walked out after 5 minutes. it is a nice walk back to livingstone’s from there. soi 33, was pretty active when i came back. i asked giotto about what was the story on these other bars and he gave me a pretty objective run down. he bought me a drink in the sports bar and i asked him for a rundown on some of the girls in the bar. i met a very nice girl named muk and we hit it off pretty well. i bought her a lady drink and bar fined her and we went back to my room. she started a massage and said that she would give me a shave. what a great idea, massage, shave and sex, it was the total package. great massage, great shave and all of the rest. what was really incredible is after we cleaned up, she started another soft massage, saying for me to go to sleep. if you have not had a great girl massaging you to sleep, do it, it was a fantastic experience and in my mind what is truly incredible about the women here. total damage was 2000 baht, plus bf plus ladies drink. well worth it.

She didn't call you, 'naja'.

'na ja' is part of an expression as in "pai theo na ja" which could mean, let's go out, ok? or Are you going out?" depending on the context in which it's said. In any event, it's a friendly ending to a statment or question which more or less means "yes or no? or ok?".

The only word I could see that had meaning was a "snake" or "cobra". I suppose I'm neither.

Not only did you give a nice report, you also put an idea into my head on an optional way to get to Bangkok. Maybe I'll fly into Singapore and then take a cheap flight into Bangkok or even better yet, maybe a flight into Pattaya.

Big Boss appeared at my desk and asked me to join him with another two colleagues on a trip to Bangkok to participate in some meetings with clients. I have not been to Bangkok for 20 years and told him that I had been thinking myself already joining the delegation for thesake of the company. As is well reported here, things can be hit or miss in BKK.

The Majestic concierge is a good guy and arranged a car and an English-speaking driver for me to look around Bangkok (first day). It turned out the driver had so-so English, and it was hard to understand him, but he was diligent and trustworthy and took me round the city showing me the major sights. A trip on the river is a must for all visitors, and we took a long-tail boat and zipped up and down the waterways, getting both a sense of the city and of its history. Went to temples and the Grand Palace, and the damage was only 200 baht per hour – 1200bt for 6 hours of touring. Not bad at all.

After dinner and a cultural show, and feeling a little tired, I went next door to Annie’s to relax with a massage. It’s a dingy entrance, but I like that. It sort of feels like entering the underworld, which gets me in the mood. There’s a bar upstairs and I found a sad collection of pissed British males waving their arms around and singing incoherently, and the girls were all on their cell phones, although quickly smartened up by the mamasan.

It’s true, as many here have said, that the selection is not great – but you’re only looking for one, right? Since this Forum has a particular purpose, I won’t bore you with the details, but I did have a great time in one of the world’s unique travel spots. A shopping experience unlike any other.

Anyways, back in the city later in the day, and after a nap to catch up on the jet lag, I decided I did want to take a look at Patpong, despite all advice here. Although I had read the Forum and knew what to expect, in fact it was even worse.

Haggard, toothless touts latch on to you as soon as you round the corner into the soi, and stick like leeches, yelling in your ear. I could have bought three suits and a girl within thirty seconds. I was looking for the famed pussy shows, just out of prurient interest, and escaped from the fangless dogs up some dark stairs into the Pussy Bar, or something like that.

Hideous experience. Bored tubby girls listlessly grinding their hips at the pole, almost no customers (discounting of course the pissed British males), and as soon as I sat down at the bar I was surrounded by a swarm of piranha-like women in a kind of feeding frenzy. Before I could say no and get the hell out, a beer appeared, and I knew there would be a problem if I just walked away. Gave her a 500 and she gave me back a 100. I argued about the other 100 but got nowhere. Shitty fucking place.

I sank the beer within a few minutes, shook off all but two of the piranhas, watched the fat girls shooting darts at balloons with straws sticking up their cunts, and got the hell out.

Lesson learned. Trust the Forum. Not even a learning experience was worth that much.

Took the sky train to Nana, as I should have done in the first place, and went into Spanky’s. Something about the place just felt good – it’s a small bar on the 2nd floor, and the girls were having fun – laughing, teasing each other, warm welcoming smiles for the customers but no pressure, and good rock music.
