Tiny Kitchen Restaruant on Torres
I really like the food here. No. Wine list etc, but good food. The menu is in Spanish which I think you speak.
Magret de Canard à l'Orange
Recently, my favorite restaurant here, Bon Appétit, quintupled the size of it's heretofore small kitchen. Shortly thereafter, the lovely Chef Rosalie, started making absolutely authentic Magret de Canard à l'Orange, which is sautéed duck breast in a real French orange sauce. I ate it last night for the second time, and if anything, it was better than the first time. It was, by a wide margin, the best food I've had in Davao. Bon Appètit is not inexpensive by local standards. An excellent meal for two, with good French wine, will cost between Php4, 000 and Php5, 000 for two, and it's worth every centavo.
I would add the White House to DS' list. It's truly fine dining and the ambience is magnificent, but there dinner for two will upward of Php7-8, 000 so be prepared. My only complaint about the Japanese-French fusion cooking is that's it's all formulaic, made by people who were well-trained in following the formula but with no real passion for their craft. However, for those here for a few days, it's well worth trying.
