Passions has never been my cup of tea. I can pickup girls in the clubs just as nice at half the Passions price. Some guys like the crutch of BB, FOD and passions. I understand if you can not speak any Spanish and are not confident it makes sense to stay in the casas. When you are paying the house it is always more expensive. The other thing is these caaa girls are very hard core. They are fucking every day if possible. I have meant many girls on the street in Sosua who were fresh of the bus.
I Think the reason guys like passions was the German Owner was very hard on the girls, If the girls got any consumer complaints he would Fire them on the Spot. So when you spent the extra money you knew you were going to have a good time, unlike when you get a girl at Classicos (RIP) or DLatino's it was a hit or miss.

Are "dongles" what Viva, Claro, Orange call them?

i also don't know if the german owner being hard on the girls and firing them on the spot is true, i've never been to passions as my first time in sosua was after it closed. but one consumer complaint should not warrant the firing of a girl on the spot, that's a bit absurd. because the guy on the other end can never be wrong? it's not like you're complaining about poor internet speed to your isp.

Don't over analyze Sosua.
It's basically a 3 block strip that has 5 bars where the girls hang out and solicit tourists.
After 5 days it gets boring because you will see the same girls day in and day out.
Never pay over 1500 for a chica.
Keep it simple.

It's not overanalyzing. A majority of the action in Sosua is concentrated to a "3 block" strip as you say.
But venture out a little more and you'll see plenty of streetwalkers. Side streets down towards CMP etc. I was there for 4 days and explored more this time around, and while the action is still fairly concentrated. If you're someone like me who enjoys walking around, you'll run into a treat or two. I never got bored after 4 days.

Most guys who know shit don't, and can find new girls every day and never repeat (unless they want to). They only spend time on the strip to drink with friends if that is their thing (it isn't mine). Why go there to pick up girls where there is most competition, prices are higher, and where the hardcores and lowlifes hang out? There are hundreds of girls in the rest of Sosua and thousands in the surrounding areas who never go near the strip.

Sosua needs to get real and embrace the visitors, for they may become the residents of the future. How about a welcome service for mongers at POP airport with a free Cuba libre and an introduction to the pay structure and some key Spanish phrases? How about promoting the Sosua Blowjob Pinup Calendar including twelve local lovelies doing facials? How about a Monger of the Month competition with great prizes like TLN with five girls? How about a special promotion for TV network production teams willing to come to Sosua to film "exposes" for the Travel Channel?
If they just got a clue, they could really put Sosua on the map.
Short stay tourists versus long stay expatriates, huh?
You always make that sort of comment, Frannie, as if you and I and the other ex-pat residents are the only ones entitled to enjoy the better aspects of the DR mongering scene, but that doesn't have to be the case.
I actually think it condescending to suggest that all short-stay tourists are lazy and lack initiative. I was a short-stay tourist for four years before I came to live here and I must have visited twenty or thirty small towns and villages as well as exploring most of the barrios in Puerto Plata, nearly always on my own. I was pushing 70 at the time and don't have a black belt in martial arts, nor did I speak more than a few words and phrases in Spanish (and not a lot more now, I am ashamed to say).
I had a lot more fun at a lot less expense than if I had spent the same amount of hours on what Adinga calls "a 3-block strip that has 5 bars where the girls hang out. The same girls day in and day out".

Like you I originally went everywhere including many towns and a few campos, but there are lots of mongers who have probably never seen a chicken's throat cut at a barbecue.
I was just satirising the whole idea that Sosua could ever be promoted as a kind of Mongermania theme park. La Passion sealed its fate by having that lighted sign over the door saying "Disney for Adults".
By the way, Pooter, the Italian Stallion tempoecorto is coming to town tomorrow and wants to get in touch with you. How can he do that?
To stay out of trouble in the DR all you need is a black belt in marital arts to avoid getting pinned down and you will be fine!

Or just check out some of the bars / restaurants that are not on that 3 block strip.

Overheard in Sosua
This afternoon in the Playero supermarket in Sosua I was lurking between high shelves and overheard a conversation between some Dominican male employees. One said that what Sosua needs is a bar where women can go to meet men!

I have no first-hand knowledge, just passing stuff on.
