Walking down PC today. Looks like Dlatin is not installing air conditioning (HA. No surprise there). I took a picture of the guy spot welding the metal mesh to the frame that will go up in front of Dlatin. This is what it's going to look like, fellas.

My wallet and passport is in one of those sports waist bags, and I stuff everything loose in my backpack. Hey don't discount another possibility of another traveler digging in your basket before you get a chance to get near it.

Hello fellow mongers. I have been reading this site the last few weeks, and firstly I want to say thank all of you for providing these awesome trip reports, general info, advice on all the different countries. I will definitely share my knowledge and experiences of upcoming and past
Trips.
I need some advice on if it would be safe and advisable for me to travel solo to Sosua. Secondly, where should I hang out to meet fellow
Expats that may be traveling solo once I am there? For example, I read that New Garden would be good to hangout with expats. I understand there are travel meet ups on the forum; however, I may not meet a fellow monger going the same time as I am? Lastly, if there is a better option to go to meet hot Latina chicas, meet fellow Mongers to hang out with, and feel safe in, I am open to suggestions as I will go on more trips in the future. Awaiting a few replies.

Good place to hangout with expat would be Rockys. The owner Rick is a real cool dude. I will be there on the 19th this month staying at Casa Cayena.

The only sensible way to address such very vague and general questions is to read a lot of posts and form your own consensus. Even if one poster were kind enough to take the trouble to address all your questions in detail, it would still only be one person's opinion and might be very atypical of the average monger's advice.
For example, if you really have been reading, it should be obvious that at least 80% to 90% of the posts here are from guys who travel alone to Sosua. Why would they suddenly advise you that it is not safe?
Loads of detailed posts on the merits and demerits of New Garden and lots of other hotels and apartments.
Many widely different opinions on what constitutes "a hot latina chica" and dozens of different strategies for the best ways of meeting them (not to mention the admittedly small minority like me who wouldn't give the time of the day to "latina" chicas).
Honestly, it doesn't sound as if you have been reading at all.

I did not know that it was a prerequisite to read extensively on Sosua before I asked a simple question of safety and guys traveling solo in the DR.
No, I have not read the reports extensively on the DR, as I just started reading on this country today. There are so many countries and topics on this forum.

This is not a lie, true story, and although it can happen anywhere I wanted confirmation from people that have been there. I will take your opinion to be factual though that it is safe, and will do more reading on Sosua this evening.

It is also in your own best interests because you will get a better consensus from (say) thirty guys who have previously posted rather than (say) five who might reply to you now.
If someone asks for advice on growing begonias and says they have already been reading up, it is reasonable to assume they mean reading up on begonias not on servicing lawn mowers.
Yes, Americans do get robbed and murdered here, as do other nationalities. From memory (and I stand to be corrected) I cannot remember anyone who has suffered seriously who wasn't doing something stupid or morally dubious (drugs, loan-sharking, dodgy property deals, getting involved with lawyers, cops, and other low-lifes, inviting hardcore girls and their friends into their private dwellings, etc, etc). Bad things do happen, but for every one that does there are twenty urban legends. I have never heard of a short-visit monger who acted sensibly having a serious problem.
Keep reading, then ask specific questions. If you just ask "where and how do I find the most beautiful girls for the cheapest price" you will just get a lot of contradictory responses from people riding their own hobby-horses.
