Been living in Udon Thani for the past 8 months, and I still haven't found a place that sells corn beef (slab). Tesco/Big C/Carrefour all have canned corn beef, but I'm dying for a decent slab of corn beef that I can cook myself with some cabbage.

Another visit to Udon. I'm beginning to tire of the place, but my Thai friends always drag me there. They love it.

As for me this go round on Soi Sow Fie Dang I got service for 300 baht as before. I can report that there are far, far more and better looking girls on the soi than on many previous visits. There I was shown a really knockout selection of cute Lao girls - about the level of Soi Sow Fie Dang in Udon, but all in their early twenties (which is more my style anyway). Two offered to go with me together so I just flipped a coin to choose between them, which seemed to amuse them. The charge was 240 for a Thai massage - apparently only for an hour because it was pretty rudimentary.

Afterwards she offered sex for 2,000 baht. In the old days, when Southeast Asia was a better place, I would have been too offended by a price like that to even continue negotiations. As it was, I said, no, 1,000. She balked at that, so I offered 1,500 but only for the natural product without preservatives. She agreed, and after she returned from the shower I realized she was an absolute doll - those amazing, full, upstanding breasts you get in Lao and Viet girls but rarely in Thais.

Anyway, the sex was very poor as there was no BJ and after a mere 20 minutes she was crying 'jep jep' 'too big', etc., as these upcountry girls invariably do. So I left unrequited. Opebo is more a 60 minute man, and alas in this country that means only in the civilized parts is he likely to gain satisfaction.

Upon reflection, I can state that I have almost never (maybe 2 times in 8 years) had what I would consider 'great sex' in Issan, or for that matter anywhere in Thailand outside of Pattaya/Bangkok. I have fairly often been able to find what I would call 'adequate' sex in Isaan, but the vast majority of the time the sex there is very bad. Very, very bad. Opebo, I enjoyed your report, but am wondering about your statement that in your experience, you see Isaan as having less to offer in terms of sexual performance. Oosik, your post is a penetrating one, but I was referring to the issue of performance - which is about skill, attitude, and experience. The girls in Pattaya have a large experience of the porno-minded farang customer. He may be fairly well endowed and bang for lengthy periods of time. He may demand skillful oral or even anal sex (or anyway these are tremendous selling points).

By contrast the girls in Issan have almost entirely Thai men as customers, and these fellows, while extremely demanding about the appearance of the girl, don't seem to care much at all about service. The only 'great' sex I had in Issan was I think with a girl just come back from Pattaya, and the only 'good' sex I get (and I do get it often) is with regulars with whom I have a 'chemistry'.
