Cebu Bars
Sure sounds like you have never been there. The owners have changed hands three times within the last 5 or so yrs. From Chris and John to Carl and now to Graham.

Can you post where you heard about the BOGOF on SML? That's news to me. Please explain.

When was the last time you visited?
Stroker, if you read carefully I said I first went 3. 5 (three and a half) years ago. Graeme was the owner then and still is. I'm a regular there and if you were to ask anyone for me there personally, including Graeme, the girls and the other regulars they would know me (hence why I know he is the new owner of pussycats and I'm guessing only people on the ground would know this recent news) but I'm not going to get into one of the "mine is bigger than yours" contests that you seem to love to host here. I have no reason to lie and have nothing to prove. I'll accept you are the font of all knowledge, I have no need to get into a pissing contest.

I was last there 10 weeks ago. The news on their theme nights I received on my facebook page via their profile there, so it's a new thing. (Pic attached)

3. 5yrs ago? LOL that's rather impossible or you're really bad with math. Carl was the owner three years ago.

If you look back on the "General Information" thread in the Cebu seb-section you can clearly see my posts dated 4-10-2011 and 4-23-2011 that deal with Graham taking over ownership of SD from Carl. I knew a month before the official transfer who the new owner was. I kept my mouth shut, because until it happened no need to announce anything. Pussycats? LOL, there's more coming but I will keep my mouth shut.

I have known Graham since he was in short pants. Did you know Chris and John? Did you know Carl? I met Carl in Cebu before he even owned SD. He asked for my advice because he settled on two bars and didn't know which one to buy. I told him the bar business is a shite business but I always kinda liked SD.

Anyways no need to get into a pissing match so long as you get your facts straight.

May 2011 would tie in as I'd possibly only been to LS before then and my visits to Cebu were less frequent. Either way, everyone still refers to it as SD and the flyer shows there's not exactly been a change in branding over the last 2. 5 years.

Hope you can enlighten us on what other than Pussycats is coming, whether the other proposed new place is back on the cards. So much happens in what seems like a short space of time when out of town. Have you been to pussycats since the refurb? Opinions? It was never one of my favourites previously and I never got a good feeling for the place or the pushy mamasan.

Happy to meet up for a beer if you're about when I am back next.

Anyone been to Ferrari yet and can post a report?

Drink prices? Barfine or KTV setup? LD prices? Local-Kano-Korean clientele?

Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?

Anyone been in the new Sapphire Bar And can post a report?

Info on drink prices and if they serve food the prices on that too. Are the drink prices the same at the bar downstairs vs upstairs?

I understand that the new setup means there is a regular bar on the street level and filipinas are on offer upstairs, can someone confirm and post what the prices are? Is massage still on offer or did the new owner cut it?

For those that do not know, Cobra Bar over on F. Ramos was sold awhile back and after renovations it reopened as Sapphire Bar. Not to be confused with the Sapphire Bar that's located over at Movenpick Resort Mactan.

I used to visit the old Cobra Bar but I haven't been to the new setup.

Cheers.

I was there twice and wasn't overly impressed. The downstairs bar is done up nicely, but both times there were too few customers so the upstairs was closed. I never saw the upstairs. There were a few rather plain gals around, but none made eye contact nor seemed interested in conversation. Basically they all hung around watching tv. Filipino TV. Later at J Ave I bumped into one of the gals. Took her to my room and was disappointed with her performance.

I don't know the prices of the extra services, but it's worth going to for a beer to check it out. I was at Holiday Plaza so it was just a few meters down the road.

Another new place is Cubano, which is on the same street as Red lips (the street between Vienna Cafe and Yellow Cab pizza). They have an outdoor section which was packed. There was live music. Inside the place is nice and might be good for a date or even some hunting. It was quiet the time I went inside, but things might pick up. X.

Thanks for the reports X Man. I am coming to Cebu in a few weeks for my annual 6 month stay. Always looking for the new places in town. Will check out Cubano for sure.

Hi members,

I would be grateful if the senior members can help me with the usual barfine in the various bars in cebu like vikings, etc. Last week when I was there I was asked for 3000 and 5 LDs which I politely declined.

So how about a trip report? What bars did you visit and what was the result? Thoughts? The 3000php might be the regular barfine a bar / KTV but no way to know for sure because you did not post any details.

This is not 7th grade english class, so no need for a book report. Just post the basics. When, where, and WTF happened.

I'm with WR on this. Newbs need to contribute more and ask less.

Give and take di ba.

Did you just write,"annual 6 month stay"? No offense, but I really, really hate you.

Another new place is the Irish bar in the same area as J ave, but toward F. Osmena circle.

As for Sapphire (formerly Cobra) on Ramos, I just came across a message on another message board that says the 2nd floor isn't finished. So, the good news is that things might become more interesting at Sapphire in the future. The bad news is that they lied to me. Or to the other guy. I was told closed because of lack of customers in August. The recent post was early September.

A place I wanted to investigate, but never got the chance was MO2 in Mandaue. I've also heard Liza's Fun Sea Pub in Mandaue has reopened. Hope the Old Dog can investigate further. X.

See the link below, usual suspects involved in the raid.

And all the customers are "dirty old men". Speaking for myself I wash / shower every day LOL.

Note what the club's lawyer says. Makes no difference with or without a search warrant it seems.

Give and take di ba.
I visited Mango vikings, where I spent some time and bought a LD to the girl I liked and had called over to sit with me. When I asked her about the barfine to take her out she quoted the mentioned 3000 and 5 LDs. When I told her I was looking for a ST. 2-3 hrs. 2 pops, she came down to 2500 and 3 LDs which I politely declined.

Got out and headed to J Ave. Filled with koreans. Danced and bought a girl who said she was from infinity a drink. She quoted 3000 for the same ST. Managed to get her down to 2000 and when we were about to leave she insisted I pay her in advance which I refused based on the advice of the senior members here. Met another really hot looking girl and after the usual drinks and dancing she quoted 4000 for ST. Which I had to refuse again. And sadly went back to my hotel alone.

The regular customers / expats get a slightly better rate but YMMV.

Personally you should have taken the 2500php short time offer. Best if you're a newbie to discuss all the things you want from the GRO while in the bar BEFORE paying and make sure she is ok with all of it. Bargirls are like lions, they can smell a newbie from a long way off. You're fresh meat to them LOL. I personally would have bought a drink for the bargirl and after awhile asked to see her kitty. You are doing this to check if she is on her period and to see if she is comfy with you inside her panties. If you get any kind of resistance get rid of her and find another one because that resistance will only increase once in the room.

Get the bargirl to call over the mamasan to seal the deal and once again go over all the details with both the bargirl and the mamasan listening so there is no misunderstandings. Buy the mamasan a drink if one of the three LD's were not already given to her while the bargirl is in the back getting ready.

For the last 30 years I was coming to the Philippines for 1 to 2 weeks a year. My plan was when I retire to stay long term and this will be the 3rd consecutive year thatI will be here from October- April. My dream has worked even better then I expected. I don't use the bars or dating sites for my mongering, and I did detail in the past my modus of acquiring pristine 18- 21 year old girls. Unfortunately the haters came out, the principal one was apparently arrested- what a surprise!..
I have not decided yet, but I am thinking of paying more this year for my short term girls. In the past two years, I always gave 1,000 for short time which included at least 2 rounds. However, I am thinking of raising it to 1,500 this year. One reason is that I always want to help my girls and the money is very important to them. Many of my girls come to me when they need money for school tuition and then return because quite frankly they need money for so many other reasons. Usually the money goes to support their families, and I think 1,500 would be more then fair. Again, thanks for the update X.

Senior domestic monger here (check my posts in Atlanta) but a noob to the Phils:

I have a Filipina MILF here in the US. She's from Cebu (province). Always heard, via reports, that visiting the Phils was best in January because air tickets are cheaper and the weather is cooler. She told me that in January that there's a festival called Sinulog, so air ticket prices are more expensive then. Is that true? I would think that mongers wouldn't care about such events as the influx of tourists would increase pussy prices and ruin it for local mongers. Therefore, what is the best month / price to visit Cebu from a mongering standpoint?
