Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Unfortunately, these things may happen if you are not a local (or Turkish speaker). My recommendation for any non-Turkish speaking visitors would be to plan in advance and use intermediaries where possible I. E. Through hotel desks or taxi drivers. Cyprus being a small community, people use their connections all the time so I doubt that you would have experienced the same issues if you booked a taxi driver beforehand. Granted, you would have to pay the taxi driver a commission for his services but would have avoided any ripoff such as the one you experienced as taxi drivers regularly work with night clubs.

It seems that all clubs in the Lefkosa area are charging 250 TL per hour. The only clubs that I found charging 200 TL are Romantic and Tutti Frutti. It seems that the Cyprus thread is not very active. During last months, I visited some of Lefkosa night clubs in the area of Alykoy. The prices are 250 TL for an hour with some clubs offering 200 TL.
