In my previous experience, yes this also happens to me, but all the times girls wanted to go to my place / apartment.
I always found that the day after I had to compensate the girl (not by paying her money but with gift while visiting a shopping mall).
My age is 50+ and the girls where around 30/35.

Many of the somewhat educated women will understand written English considerably better than oral, so I often find it easier to arrange a meeting through a couple of sms' rather than through speaking. If you've ever spoken to some of the Thai-born English teachers here, it will be easy for you to understand why that might be the case.

Thais are incredibly conservative (or least need to give that outward perception) especially the wealthy ones.
The likelihood of such a woman who doesn't speak good English being at Q Bar is also extremely remote.
Not sure of the motivation for the story but maybe better saved for "readers wives".

Knowing Thailand, I prefer to have my own set of rules. It is a risky scenario when a girl drags you so late at night and pulls you away to some place with people waiting for you to show up to be mugged or god knows what! Probably he was lucky and the rich girl fell for him for reasons best known to her. But personally being in his place I would have taken a CAB and asked her follow to my place for the real deal!
