There is not much write up on the bar or the restaurent scene by which I mean the early evening mongering, sometimes you get free from work about 5-9 pm and want to hit a nice bar for some beer or dinner meetings with your work collegues or you have to entertain some business clients not everyone wants to hit a club at 12 am and clubs are not everyone's choice also sometimes you just want an early fuck-food-fuck-sleep around 6-11 and sleep normally as you have work day tomorrow. Not a club kind of place with loud music but music at decent voice and some nice mix of wg's to freshen up the night. I haven't been to many bars but have heard a lot about the bar scene from a group of kazakh chicks I used to regularly hump when I was living on the palm last year. From all the bars which I visited two of them were at the ADDRESS DOWNTOWN and both the bars seem to be a contrast of each other. The one on the 63rd or 65th floor with an entry from a different lift at the back of the hotel had nice views of the BK and Fountain had a decent crowd mostly regular and just a hint of couple of wg's which I could no guess when I was there as the ladies were elegantly dressed, I only found out this as I met two of them at hyaat later without there shawls and a different top looking more slutty than there address outfits. It is the roof top shisha at Abjar Grand hotel in abu hail area, formerly Ramada Grand or something like it. Almost all the taxis know about this place, the hotel also has 5 or 6 clubs in the lobby but I have never been at these clubs. Those clubs range from Indian, Pakistani, African, Russian, Lebanese, Arabic or Moroccan I don't know just that when you cross the lobby to go up to the shisha place you see a lot of posters here and there.

I don't normally contribute to the Dubai forum as my abode is in my posting name. I was in Dubai for a few weeks recently, mainly to watch the cricket. I stayed around Marina and do not see many postings that refer to anywhere south of the creek although Crowne Plaza on SZ seems an exception. I soon found that Marina and its environs wasn't a good hunting ground for Africans. So good bars around like Underground (Habtoor), Garden on 8 (Media One), Nell Gwynne (Byblos) but not many Africans around at all.
