It certainly looks as if us ugly Falangs are ruining the whole objective of why we have been coming to LOS. Guys are paying the high prices for pussy because they think they can't bargain down. Or...they let their little head, not the big head, do the bargaining.

Pretty soon, LOS will be unaffordable. It is already getting that way. Pure economics; supply and demand. Except this looks backwards. There is plenty of supply which should drive prices down, but they go upwards instead. Go figger...

Your Grandpa was right - though I would add that the $20 piece will almost invariably perform better service than the $100.

As for price in Thailand, Thais seem to have an odd philosophy when it comes to prices. If they have heard of someone paying a lot, they will hold out for that price untill absolutely forced by necessity to accept less. For example in Ubon Ratchathani I encountered many who expected 1,200-2,000 because, as they said 'farang pay that in Bangkok'. Of course in the case in point I was the only farang around, and the real choice was take 500 baht or get nothing that night.

You also find this with Thais selling products as well as services - has anyone here ever looked at used cars in Thailand? People will hold out for $2,000 for an old car that we wouldn't give $500 for in the West, sometimes for years and months. No, it is only dire necessity that will force Thais to be reasonable.

Of course the new State policy of attacking prostitution is putting upward pressure on prices. For example in Pattaya the controllers have closed down the Beach Road, eliminating the main low-cost alternative. No longer will mongers be able to simply walk away from bar girls (and their bar-pimps) charging too much, knowing that the ladies of the beach await. Lastly, supply is in fact being reduced greatly every year in Thailand, due to demographics - Thai population growth is plummeting and the Thai population is aging, just as every year more and more desperate sex refugees from the US, Europe, and Asia seek asylum here.

Good message: the biggest amount of really wonderful and pretty girls you can find at the rca area. And best of all: these are all freebies.

Bad message: to get one of them is as hard as to win in a lottery. Maybe not the jackpot, but mid-range price.

Okay, now the details: rca (no idea what it means) is a bar and disco area where the thai people spend their free evenings. Especially on weekends its very busy. One of the bigger places located there is called "route 66", they have two big dance floors and play mostly a kind of house. Sometimes their are live bands too. Seems that the audiance is something like jeunesse doree from Thailand. Do not compare it with nana disco or something like this. Western people are very rare, and the favorite drink for the thais seems to be whisky (one bottle red lable, one liter 1000 baht). Place is busy between 10 and 11 pm, later very crowded and closes at 2 am. Minimum age for going inside is 20, and I think there are not a lot of persons over 30.

Scene of great, wonderful and specteculas girls is enormeous. A lot of them come with other girl friends, mostly in bigger groups. But as I said before: this is not nana. Our money does not count anything, if you want to have success you have to be charming, smiling and being friendly. Same like at home. Okay, maybe some of these asian wonders are a little bi more interested in white skin, especially after some whisky, but in total you have to do the same like in europe or in the us. I have been there for 6 times, and that with 2 times success. Good thing is, that these girls want you and not your money, and if you can reach nobodys heard, it is a festival for the eyes.

How to go there: take subway to rama 9 road, exit fortune hotel and on the cross road left. This is rama 9 road, the area is situated at soi 8. From underground it is a walking distance from about 800 meter. Taxi from nana area is about 50 baht.

Had about 8 different girls from the Beer Garden on soi 7, took all of these during the day and short time only, paid everyone of them 1000baht, I didn't get into conversation with them regarding $, I just told them what I wanted and if they asked, I said that the renumeration was 1000, a couple out of the 8 wanted more than the 1000 offered, but they were told in no uncertain terms that the 1000 was non negotiable, in about 50% of the cases $ were not discussed until the business was done, all accepted.

Took 2 girls from cowboy at nite, both very pretty, price was not discussed, both stayed 3-4 hrs both were paid 1500 + 200 for taxi and snack, and both were happy with the 1700.

Generally speaking I prefer not to discuss $ until business is complete, a good rule of thumb for newbies is, if all the p4p wants to talk about is $, then move on and find another.

It should be noted that in conjunction with the above I usually spend an hour or two getting to know the p4p before taking her to my hotel, during this time I pay for any drinks or food that she orders, so by the time that she leaves the bar with me she has had a good time and is relaxed, $ are very rarely mentioned.

Well obviously not many girls will head off with a westerner because of the stigma that it might give the image of being a hooker even if she isn't.
In some places in Thailand, a girl will be branded a hooker just by walking with a Farang.

Still, exceptionally good looking high class guys probably rarely have to pay for sex in Thailand or any other country, but they have to know where to look. I am not a hunk and don't have time for the chase (not much free time away from girlfriend) when mongering, so its just easier to pay rather than miss out often.

RCA stands for Royal City Avenue.
I must say that your post on RCA is exactly the truth!! When I am tired of hitting the regulars (Nana, Cowboy, CM2, Q-bar or the Pent) RCA is a fantastic place to see how the real Thai girls get wild. I agree a little smile and some sweet talk, then you can have a common Thai non pro eating out of your hands. The only thing I would add is.. You need to bring a Passport if you are an Expat or tourist. They will not let Farangs (non-thai's) in without proper ID. There is something that I noticed that might be of interest.. When leaving we passed at least 75 girls looking for action as all the cars leave the area at 2 AM. Nice job and I hope you continue to Enjoy RCA

Odd, I've been clubbing at RCA several times - with Thais and non-Thai Asians - and never had an isssue with ID. (FWIW, I never carry my passport, but on occassions I feel I need the identity, I have color copies of the first page I can stuff in my wallet.)

I will say that while most Thais see me as the farang I am, many also say I look Chinese. And I'm obviously much older than 20. :)

Is not so! I had no problem to enter Route 66 and Slim without ID. I read outside that a ID is necessary, but could enter without. They did not even ask for a ID.

OK, I will state this, if you are a farang not of Asian decent, you may need a passport to enter RCA. I have been there many times with Caucasians and we were all asked for our passports. On one occasion one of us did not have his passport and he was denied entry. There are signs posted in many locations that say “Passports required”. I always carry a copy of my passport because my US drivers license looks like it came from a cereal box to many Policemen of the world. Here at RCA the “white boys” were asked for Passports. So take it FWIW and bring your passport to RCA. The worse case scenario would be they did not ask you for it and you enjoy a fun place full of hot Thai girls.

I am a white guy. I had never had a problem to enter those clubs in RCA without showing my passport. I know it's maybe a bit careless but I never take my passport with me when I went out. Never had a problem and I was maybe already 15 times in Thailand.
Yesterday when I went out of Patpong there were many police men making a razzia. The Taxi driver didn't stop because they were affraid I guess. One Police man saw this and stopped a taxi for me. Asked me where I want to go and than told the Taxi driver to bring me there. Adviced me also not to pay more than the taximeter shows.
In the RCA bars they always treat me with respect. Never asked for passport, ID Card or what ever. Even when there always are signs that say that a ID Card is necessary. I guess it's therefore no problem, because I 37 years old and the showing of an ID card should only prove that somebody who want enter is already older than 20 years.

ID is needed for thais under 18 or 20 not allow to go there by thai law and not allow to have alcool under 18 something like this. And by the way there is a law in Thailand that says all foreigner have to carry theier passport with them. If police check on you without passport they have the right to take you to police station to investigate on you. Trust this is happen many time even todays. May be you will find a threat on this here in the forum. Hey. Happen to me once in 1998.
