Not been to the usual spots for a while.

Club Good Times entry now 100 cords, as posted on door.

Girls asking for 1500 cordobas! Wouldn't bargain down below 1300! From 500 just 2 years ago, to 700 just a few months back! Nothing special to see so left. Still the gringos come and pay this.

Club Fenix, usually 50 cords to enter, on this night they had obviously seen the new price at Good Times, told 100 cordobas to enter in well practised English! Nothing compares to Nicaraguan customer service so I declined the offer knowing full well what was waiting after a previous visit this week.

Overall, prospective visitors to Managua, if you want to have a good time I suggest to you be nice, say please, thank you and smile, pay what asked and you will have a great time, nicas love a Bobo.

To the others here at the moment, any suggestions.

I would say Managua is difficult to explore due to the layout. Everything here geographically is based on a history of earthquakes meaning it is really spread out for city of 2 million odd and difficult to walk around to say the least! Certainly San Jose has a budget MP scene, something which is difficult to access in Managua and is small.

It is here in Managua but it is certainly restless! What ever you do, do not go to Metrocentro. Once you have been once you will always regret going again! It will bore you rigid!

So true about MetroCentro. They had one in El Salvador. By the time my two weeks was up I had been in every store and purchased nothing! Not much to buy but the food court was pretty decent.

Two weeks is a short time really. I've been here a long time. The main issue is quality of chica and quality of sex. There are exceptions but both are not the same as you get in Colombia for example. In Colombia when you get ridden it is totally different to being ridden in Nicaragua, with few exceptions. Its just a different game, of course Colombia is the World Cup winner of putas, but for 50,000 pesos in Bogota, Bucaramanga or Cali you have a totally different experience that I can`t really explain here without sounding too stupid! I`m going to say it, Nicas arent good at sex compared to Colombianas. So go to Colombia or Brazil but I believe you know most of this and don`t want to be conscending.

Back to Managua you need to take a lot of taxis but they are cheap from 30, 40, 50 to 60 cords. Sometimes you get these fares at night as well, sometimes thay ask much more, depends. Places to stay furnished apartmenst for a week are not cheap but all will discount if asked. I have two I can recommend in Bolonia that are owned by hotels are comfortable and are nothing to do with me.

I have read your posts on Guat and other places and can see you are not the soft type! So there are cheap places in Barrio Costa Rica for example the problem being also these places are overun because they are cheap and demand is high and supply low really for a city of two million. This is a city without logic! Nothing makes sense. Questions do not get answers! It is a country really unlike any other in Latin America. I have seen more fist fights here than anywhere else in Latin America and I have been allover. You don't get that in Colombia as the culture is not fist fights!

It is a struggle to advise a visit for you. It is a unique place so why not but other places will suit you better. If I can help with any questions, just ask.

So I'm in Managua right now at a friends house on Carretera Sur.

I am bored out of my mind and leaving next Tuesday.

I have tomorrow free till 5pm when I have a wedding to visit- would like to find a girl at lunchtime for a couple hours.

What's my best course of action.

What they have done recently is imposed a gringo pricing structure. If you look like a foreigner you will be charged that rate. If you can speak fluent Spanish, then you can expect to pay about $30-$35 depending on negotiating of course. The manager (I think his name is Fernando, he's the big guy sitting and watching everyone at the bar) speaks fluent English and is always willing to give you a break. Oh yeah, don't pay the extra $10 they try to upcharge for a room when you pay at the register, firmly tell them NO, this behavior must not be encouraged.

As far as I know Fenix is still $2 to enter and $16 for half hour. I've never left without banging something there. There is always one good looker in the bunch, but Good Times wins hands down for providing the best looking girls in my opinion.

Theres also a place right across from Good Times. I can't remember the name Casablancas or something? I think its like $30 bucks for 30 mins but I can't remember because I was so drunk that night. The good thing about this place is the girls don't bother you like at GT. They will continuously walk by you until you grab one.

Managua is not as dangerous as everyone makes it out to be, its like any major city in my opinion. I have no problem walking to places like Fenix at night, but then again I fit in with the locals, so I wouldn't recommend it to the typical looking gringo. There are plenty of casas all over the city, you just have to ask around because they are always changing. I'll be back next month, can't wait.

Personally I wouldn't want to travel anywhere in Latin America to pay a gringo pricing structure. Never.

In Managua with some work you can find the same quality of girl for 200 cordobas that will now ask for 1500 in Good Times.

I wouldn't go to Good Times anymore. I go to other places.
