If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
A lot of guys think they can go to the Philippines and meet a beautiful, loyal wife who may be much younger than them. Retired guys literally have 20 somethings throwing themselves at them. And in most cases it would be impossible to meet such a a girl in western countries; they wouldn't even give you a second glance. And in fact it is possible to find a beautiful, loyal, young wife in Ph.
But just remember: In 99% of cases the girls are poor, and their families are poor too. Which means that you, as the relatively wealthy foreigner will be the person they come to when they need help. It doesn't matter if they are a bargirl, "Normal" girl, etc. Unless they are from the Filipino elite then they are relatively poor. (And elite Pinays don't throw themselves at working class foreigners).
I just read a story from a guy married to a Pinay. He gave long, long list of all the problems her family had (Brother drowned in a shipwreck, sister got cancer, etc, etc) and he bankrolled them all, to the tune of about $150 k US.
How many of us that have been married to western women had to bail out their family members? In my case, not only was it zero, her family actually gave money to my family and for my kids education. So I was net positive.
So its not surprising the Pinay will be loyal when you are a walking ATM who will solve all the financial problems of her tribe. Just see how long she stays with you if you are broke, especially if she already got her green card or whatever.
So I'm not saying don't marry a Pinay; I'm just saying just understand what you are getting yourself into. As I said, if something looks too good to be true, it probably is.
I'm lost here. Why is her family's misfortune his problem?
Guys that loose $150 K only do so because they allow the out flow. Pay the "help" out of her bank account / allowance / part time job and see how long it continues.
Sorry, but I have absolutely no sympathy for these guys. The girls see a cash cow and would be crazy not to take advantage of it.
Cheers. G.
Those of us who live here, and others who have spent significant time here have heard and sometimes witnessed variations on this theme for years. And I'm with G; if the infatuation and ability for self-delusion of these suckers is so all-encompassing that they fall for the endless attempts to part them from their money, then the fault is their own. I cannot count the number of naïfs I've tried to warn, mostly in vain, of what was happening to them or, in some cases, what was likely to happen to them. The standard response, invariably is: "I know what you're saying but she is different. " Of course, she never is. The overarching reason for the continued success of the perpetual scam is that most guys who come here seeking "love," are fishing in the wrong pool. But again, I've made this argument for years, and to date no one has paid any attention and I'm now at the point that I no longer try to help those heading for disaster to avert it.
