Was on Cubadave's Facebook page. He has been on the ground in Sosua the past 3 weeks. He indicates that there is a pending court ruling on the future of Sosua. Did anybody hear anything as to what is going on? . Alot of crazy shit happening down there now with the closing of Passions and CMP and even El Valero on the beach (cause they were taking all the customers from the other restaurants). Papi and Papo aren't only used in romantic ways. They are used in generic ways as well. The same as we say "Hey Player" in the States. You will also hear "Lil' Daddy" or "Lil' Mama" throughout the southern United States from Texas to Georgia. My DR girlfriend's son's name is Jon. I call him Papi Jon as in the pizza place. Its crazy how some people can try to make a negative comment but yet don't have full knowledge of the culture.

If its bad in Mexico don't use it Mexico, when you are in Rome do as the Romans do, we don't make the rules for their language, we should just say Thank you for the guy who cleared this point out so we don't get offended when we hear it.

I could not agree more. Your ordinary American does not have any idea of the true magnitude of this situation. Nothing to be running your mouth about then going right back to Sosua like nothing happen.

The actions that have been taken so far are against the law and in the first court hearing the court ruled in favor of CMP- if CMP wins the battle then things will look good for the future of Sosua as we know it now- the action against CMP was NOT a lawful action and the judge ruled in favor of CMP. Now there is a 3 day period for the judge to allow CMP to reopen. If this happens maybe some of the nonsense will stop. As far as Passions they are still closed and he has tried on several occasions to reopen but has been denied. Was in Sosua 2 weeks ago. Met the cutest girl. Back in the room she grabs my cell phone and says for $2, 000 DR ($47 USD) more she will take a video of "us". I know negotiate. But I said sure. She did everything I asked on video. I didn't even know my iPhone took video.
